How I have grown to love this wonderful German orchestra. When lockdown is ended, I want to hear them live in Frankfurt. So terribly kind of them to put on this special and wonderful Concerto in these terrible times, in order to lift our spirits. This is in my recommendation for days and I ignored clicking on it a few times, thinking I’ve heard enough great interpretations of Oistrakh, Perlman, Heifetz ... I was dead wrong. I clicked on this, and was completely blown away! It’s the same Brahms concerto but the way Sergey phrased it makes it so new and breathtaking, as if the concerto is heard for the first time. Thank you all for still making the concert happen in such hard times and sharing with the world such a high quality piece of art.
Throughout the whole performance I can't stop saying "How in the world" or "Are you kidding me?" because how can it sound extremely beautiful? I've always liked Perlman's version but Khachataryan's is so powerful and passionate it gives me goose bumps
