    The art looks so much better and fleshed out than in the playtest copy I got! As an Aeon's End veteran, I loved every minute of this, and will be bringing out to the table often! Thank you for covering this with your usual enthusiasm :D

      Onto some rule goofs: at 5:28, you refer to Energy as "Power" (the player mat seems to be the source of the confusion here, as that's what Powering Up is)

    Hi! Great preview, minions should have more health, becouse, they have +3 health at Lunari's level 2 ;)

    At 38:09, the reference card says that each Boss has a special effect that happens when you are exhausted... but I don't ever see him check the instructions on the Boss and apply whatever effect that is.

    At 30:35 where does the 5 forgotten damage come from ? Has it not already been used to defeat the Astral Sentry Minion. Otherwise loved the play through and helps capture that escalation sense

    Is this an infinite loop of power ups to restore the homeworld to 30 health every turn?! This looks like an unbeatable combo for other boss fights?

      nope, if you check the klingon subtitles i goofed it up a bit while demoing it :)

      in multiplayer, when all players are exhausted, it's game over. in solo, you can fight on :)

    Already seeing something I don't like just a minute in... the oddly cut shapes of those mats is going to make storing them kinda annoying. Insta-buy anyway since it's a re-imagining of my favorite game of all time, but the one-off odd mat sizes in some of the newer Aeon's End boxes is something I wish they had ditched.

    He never added the bonus health to minions from the Boss leveling up. The level 2 card is visible at 19:22 and the bottom right corner shows that minions should have +3 health. First minion is at 25:54, second minion is at 27:24, and the third minion is at 36:42. I think that's all that came up.

    Still the same "pure solo" trouble as it's predecessor, those 2 games are not made and designed to be played that way. They're much better at 2players or 1player controlling 2 heroes/mages..
    About the rest, for what I see, it's basically way faster to set up, less interesting at making your decks (as it is more random) (which in the same time is nice on replayability), and bosses are more likely a revamp of what we've got in AE.
    I still might try it, to see if it goes on the table more often than AE (which slowly takes dust as its setup is bit on the longer side)
    As the original, The theme doesn't speak to me at all here. It's even worst cartoony here.
    But The graphic cards design is more appealing in this one.
    But the cubes here, are going to be a pain if the players boards aren't double layered so those cubes stays in place...
    Not sure it will replace the original one I got (with way too much expansions btw) I've got, but i might give it a try.
    I think, If I sell back all my AE collection someday, and I had to chose between any one basic AE corebox and this astro...
    That I might chose astro.
    Not coz of the theme, nor the depths (which is less deeper as we lost those cool breaches etc..) but just coz it might touch the table much more often as it is way faster at setup. (also the box looks a bit smaller isn't it?)
    So I guess this astro does what it was supposed to do, being a lighter faster and easier to teach version of collection

      As far as the cubes staying in place... watch carefully starting around 1:46. Granted, it's a prototype and I don't know if he made any modifications.
      Edit: Yeah, OK... after watching more of the video it's almost certainly some kind of poster putty that he added himself.

    So the boss heals 10 per turn and you deal 5 dmg per turn, fun game

      as the game goes on, we get much more powerful

      @@xabulense it is fun, and actually very exciting. creating a david vs goliath style situation is a cornerstone of good game design and good drama in general :)

      @@rahdo I can see why it can be fun. However, the Trice-Dead Prophet from Aeon's End is one of my least favourite nemesis. Lunaris has the same race, damage vs healing.

      @@ghyslainabel Another previewer was saying this game is probably not for intensive Aeon's End players, but more for people who have little to no experience with it, and for a starting point.
