    Thanks for your video I used your method on my 79 El Camino I should have bought two floor jacks I had fun trying to get the jack out from under the rear differential😅 thanks for your help man I appreciate it. That Time lapse was actually short I was going to the driver side passenger side front and rear a million times 🤣

    That hood was a score. I drove from Illinois to Iowa to get mine. The guy gave me 2 for the price of 1. Sold the other one to a military guy and got all my money back. You're doing a great job. Keep up the great videos.

    Good stuff man. Im rebuilding a 62 impala. Floor pans I used my cherry picker to lift the body. Same here family man doing it on my own !!

    I’d probably it those blocks directly under the body once the frame is out of the way just to help the load on the 4x4s but that’s an excellent idea

    I was thinking about doing this with My 72 C10. I'm also working in a 2 car garage but I was thinking I could do it in segments. Front End, Cab, Bed. You just proved it could be done. Thanks

    A playlist with all four parts of this video would be an easy addition to the video notes, and probably increase views. Cheers, keep up. The good work. I’m going to try this method with my 64.🎉

    How long was it on blocks? Would it damage anything if it stays like that for long?

    • @gemcitywelding7234
      @gemcitywelding7234  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It was on blocks roughly for about 9 months. As far as I can tell, It didn’t hurt anything in anyway. Everything lined up just fine.

      @gemcitywelding7234 cool I plan on pullin my body off the frame and I been so curious on leaving the front clip on because everyone always taking the front apart to do so and I was planing on leaving mine together with the body thanks for the reply im learning alot from your build thanks for sharing

  • @romeyrome3219
    @romeyrome3219 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Question for you can I remove my complete body from the frame from bumper-to-bumper just like you did, but I have my motor and transmission still in would I be able to leave that connected to the frame and lift the whole body off the way you did.???

    • @gemcitywelding7234
      @gemcitywelding7234  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So the easy way to answer that question is this, you would have to lift the body really high in order to clear the top of the engine. In the video, I have the body about 3 feet off the ground. I personally didn’t want to go much higher than that. Because I felt that it would be unsafe. Without a lift.

    • @romeyrome3219
      @romeyrome3219 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@gemcitywelding7234 hey thanks for getting back to me on that so all I Gotta do is undo all the mounting points and any wires connected to the motor and transmission and I’ll be able to lift the whole complete body without having to separate the front body panels from the rest of the car..

    Did you go with 72 or 100 spoke wheels?

    • @gemcitywelding7234
      @gemcitywelding7234  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello, my wheels are 25th anniversary Lowrider magazine/Daytons. They are 100 spoke. And feature engraving on the hoops. Only 500 sets were produced by Dayton wire wheels. Thanks for watching the channel.

    I was trying figure out how to jack up the body on my 63. I hadn't thought about about the frame method you used. Looks like you have solid blocks. Are they cinder blocks filled with concrete? Thanks for sharing.

    • @gemcitywelding7234
      @gemcitywelding7234  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      These blocks are known as “solid core”. Not “hollow” core. I believe most home centers sell the hollow core. Try to find a brick/stone center in your area and purchase some solid core if that’s the route you choose to go. Jackstands would probably work. But.. my body will be like this for awhile. I’m more comfortable with the block method. Best of luck with your project. 👊🏻👊🏻

    Your 4x4's are starting to Bow under the weight of the chassis 🤔 ...Safety first !

  • @RicardoRodriguez-us7xl
    @RicardoRodriguez-us7xl 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you recommend removing all bolts from frame first before I start lifting cuz I’m bout to pull out my frame today

    • @gemcitywelding7234
      @gemcitywelding7234  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do if you have the ability to remove them. If they are broken, then proceed because at that point you really don’t have a choice. Best of luck bro!

  • @appliancedude63
    @appliancedude63 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Please Please Please don't use cinder blocks. They are notorious for cracking. Invest in some 6 ton jack stands from harbor freight $35 for a pair. Safety 1st😎

    • @gemcitywelding7234
      @gemcitywelding7234  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Couldn’t agree more, but one difference. These are solid core blocks and not hollow core. These blocks hold up catch basins that weight 3x the weight of this body. But, I appreciate you keepin it 💯! 👊🏻👊🏻
