    So essentially the Drybrushing takes the place of the initial Airbrush step of blending, smoothing it out with glazes, like you would with an AB. very cool

    Am liking these dry brush tips. One bit of advice, could you do a close up of the model at the end? Sometimes it's hard to see the result. Always keen to see metallic tips. How about NMM bronze as a challenge!!

    • @ArtisOpus
      @ArtisOpus  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Neil, we absolutely can give that a bash! Will probably be close to the NMM Gold tutorial due shortly, in which we'll remedy the issue above too, and show all of the model in stills/rotation :)

    Great video, ordered a set of the D brushes! for me this will be a great base for NMM then add edge highlights and bit of colour glazing.
    Would love to see a video on how you approach drybrushing a model? Do you do the drybrushing first then everything with a brush second so you can clean up? Maybe i just need to work on my dry brush control.

    • @ArtisOpus
      @ArtisOpus  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great idea Noah! I'll have a think about it, there's a cold/warm/clean/dirty question first, it'd probably start with something close to Rakarth Flesh, and work from there, another interesting route is actually to take your final white, and add small amounts of deep colours or washes to it for our base-coat.

    • @naus6081
      @naus6081 4 ปีที่แล้ว

       Artis Opus Thank you so much for getting back to me! The reason I wanted help regarding going up to white is because your videos and drybrush kit have given me hope that I can finally paint the various Gundam kits I have. Since I am not in a position to set up a compressor/airbrush, so I would never be able to do more than panel line my various large gunpla kits which was never satisfying.
      I never thought of using Rakarth as a base! Would you recommend just priming black, and then adding white more and more into the rakarth to achieve a final clean-ish look? I had presumed it would just be prime black->dark gray->light gray mixing to white. Adding deep colors is a very curious idea; like a dark blue gray to it sorta thing?
      In any case your work is fantastic and I am so happy to feel like I have a shot at creating interesting and cool looking paint jobs utilizing your drybrush techniques.

      It depends on the nuance you want with the scheme:
      Warm Brown: Warm white
      Deep Blue: Cold White
      Dirty green brown: Nurgley

    If you are painting a model you want lit from the front at 45 degrees, how would you do the NMM on their back? It works on the front because of the highlights, but on the back there wouldn't be much if any at all so would you just end up with a dark grey or would you still try to get darker highlights on it?
