I have to say, I've really been enjoying the "How to paint" series you've been doing with the dry brushes. Really clear and informative and just nice to watch. Keep up the great content! I'd love to see something like Necrons or Custodes next. Very metallic!
I would love to see your take on how to do red armour really simply, preferably drybrushing only. People tend to go really complicated with it but a beginners guide would be really useful.
I’ve been studying your techniques and learning so much from you videos. Can’t believe I’ve been painting wrong for over 10 years. You’ve really help me improve my custom action figures 100 percent. Thank you
The best content , something new like , the brush numbers , sizes and their real application , a all new video for brushes , kinds and shapes , and their appliance in minis
I think your comments about using lighter colours for the base and non-armour parts of the model to make the black look blacker was the point where I finally got contrast. Thanks!
Goal unlocked! Happy to be of service mate, a picture makes such a big difference, seeing something is often the important last keystone to understanding, IMO. Our pleasure :)
Lots of love for the tanks, buildings, armour etc., would love to see a big beastie of some kind painted up using the same technique - a dragon, beast or Nurgle etc. Something that's alive!
Not to sound cliche (Dry brush and all), but i would love to see Ossiach Bonereapers done to in D-Series Fashion. The Dabbing, Stippling and Brushing combinations tuned out great on the SW vehicle plating. I am curious to see those methods utilized on Bone, Armor and Fabric.
I received a series D set of brushes yesterday as an early birthday gift and decided to give this a go for my 40K Dark Angels Raven Wing, which I've been adding for nearly 20years but never painting because I could never achieve the black look I wanted. First model out the gate is a biker with plasma gun so contemplating OSL for the coils which will also be new to me. Next thing to learn will be NMM to give a more satin look to the armour. Thanks!
Skin tones are my absolute fear, so would be good to see how you'd approach it. I'd like to see how this method could be used get the contrast needed with the smaller brushes and surface area to work in. Great set of videos btw.
I think it'd be fun to see come crazy OSL not your traditional fire or glow from tech but from something from the game concept - OSJ reflection of icy blues/white from Frostgrave or something similar to terrain or game thematic dictating the OSL. Thanks for the video - I've never had the confidence to try black armor before, maybe I'll give it a go now.
Very nice effect on this black armor. May need to give those brushes a go. Right now going through one to three drybrushes a month. Thanks for the nice video.
I've always struggled with white cloth, whenever I try traditional layering or glazing it just comes out chalky with tidemarks instead of smooth transitions. I've wondered about drybrushing it in the past but haven't tried yet. A quick video using your technique would be interesting to see if you can get natural looking white cloth.
I did white skin(not scales) on my Seraphon, Dry Brushing worked great for me, it gave it the crisp white. This was before learning of these brushes or the techniques from them.
I have found that achieving a crisp, striking white is about painting it NOT white. Especially when going for the look on a competition-winning piece. What that means is, fall just short of white with a color that's easier to build up, such as a light grey or bone/off-white. That way you can glaze or edge highlight with pure white at the lightest points. It will read as white to the eye, and be far more visually interesting than just flat white. SIDE NOTE: The "chalkiness" is because white acrylic paint has larger pigment particles than any other color, so it responds with different surface tension. By mixing it with a color beneath white - again, such as a grey or off-white/bone - it will smooth it out and allow you to reserve pure white for the most sparkling spots of light. Also, don't start over a darker base because hours, days, or even weeks after you have completed it, evaporation and fading will continue to occur and the darker layers will show through the transparent layers. With a little proper glazing, there should be no tide marks. It's easier said than done, but it's about the ratio of dampness to paint in the brush, and always drawing towards the highlight spot (in the case of white).
I'm so glad this channel is beginning to regularly post tutorials. Some of these effects with a drybrush are just incredible. As for future videos, I would love to see how to do an ice effect with series D. Particularly, with a dark purple hue as the shadows.
I picked up 1 med dry brush of yours off of eBay, and was so floored I bought both your drybrush set, and M set. I seriously cannot wait to get them here, you've got a fantastic product, and you should be proud.
Great video! I'd love to see more painting of fabric, cloaks, coats that kind of thing; and as much on how to drybrush skin (especially big flat sections like legs) as possible!
Just bought a new Ork army I am desperate for a video of you drybrushing their bright armour, Artis Opus are smashing these tutorials at the moment keep up the stellar work guys!
I have really been enjoying the instructional videos. I have picked up a lot of tips that I can’t wait to try out. I’d like to second the comment on painting the Star Wars Legion Death Troopers. Also would like to see weathering techniques and matching models to environment used on bases. Like with snow, dirt or sand.
I’d love to see a video on camo pattern cloth and armour. This could be on anything from Primaris Eliminators to a Catachan Baneblade or Star Wars Legion Shoretroopers - I have so many things I need a good camo recipe for!
I'd like to see some leather effects and cloth tutorials. Also black tank with the previous drybrush techniques would be cool to see, that's something what I will be trying out for sure.
I ordered my series D set last week, super pumped to get them! I see someone had already recommended maintenance and brush care, so I've up-voted that one but wanted to include myself in the contest :). great content!
A quick NMM Brass or Bronze would be very interesting to see, especially if it can be done with drybrushing. These vids have really inspired me to pick up some terrain to paint and I've bought some Artis Opus products to try and replicate some of your effects. Thanks!
Very cool video! I would like to see just painting on different textures. Such as painting cloth, scales, or fur just to name a few or maybe even large flat areas and how you make them look interesting with stippling techniques.
The more I see the more I love the idea of dry brushing a large area I may have to dig out a Warhound Titan leg guard for trying out doing a white with NMM trim of bronze colour which I think would be an interesting colour to cover.
Wow, I loved this video. Black has always been tricky for me to nail. Thanks for the tips! As for suggestions about future videos, how about object source lighting for non-standard colors? (Ex. Like a blue lightning effect, or purple magic erupting from the ground). Glad I stumbled upon these videos. Those brushes look great too!
Hey! Really like your Videos! But could you do a close up shot of the miniatures at the end? Sometimes it's hard to see all the Details. As for what I'd like to see next: I would love to see you do some evil sunz orks. Especially vehicles. Maybe even some Ork skin? Waaaaghh!
Love it - really looking forward to trying this out, hopefully get the kids down early tomorrow and give it a go on a couple of spare stormcast before trying on my Raven Guard
Nice work and thanks for sharing this. If you've got any tips on Ork skin (the more lurid the better) and properly battered vehicles that would be great. Also, as others have suggested, a brush maintenance video would be handy.
I would love to see a tutorial for white Armour like the White Scars have or the Sisters of the sacred Rose. I really like these tutorials and hope that there are many more to come 😊
That's a great result. I look forward to seeing the basing video. I would like to see a video where you discuss the merits of using the series D and when you would and wouldn't use them. Probably demonstrated on a Trogg! :D
I've not picked up all the terminology so forgive me if it's already been mentioned: I'd like to see a plasma glow and reflection tutorial. Also as I typed this I realised that a quick simple introductory glossary of terms might be great... equally you can explain the meaning of the terms used in each tutorial in the description of each video. Hope that makes sense, it would just make it easier for those newer to the hobby :)
Another great video and an amazingly painted mini, would love to see you do the extreme osl you see where it looks like a character is standing outside when it's dark and has a campfire lighting up half their face
Phenom Vid. Would love to see groundwork and vegetation applications. Also, would love to see a military aircraft with camo totally drybrushed. Keep up the great vids.
I would love to see an eldar tank dry brushed. They're a different take on the necron flyers. Lots of smooth bumps to fade highlights around. Love the effects and the time it take with these brushes!
Very nice tutorial! Awesome NMM on that bow! I would like to see a white marble tutorial, for statues, scenery or even a new stormhost. Ivory or ceramic armors would be nice too!! Thank you for the vids!
I'd like to see you tackle a Chaos Knight with the dry brushes. I imagine you could get a super smooth transition with your painting style, and I'd like to see the effect with the metal underbody, and painted armor panels.
Friend, your painting videos are the most useful of those I've seen. On them I learn to paint my minies. Thank you for doing this! Could you show how to make purple-pink armor for Emperor's Children?
Wow this is great content. I am intrigued by these brushes. As for tutorials after the black armour seeing a white scars/white armour in this style would be great, along with OSL.
I would love to see a series of videos featuring Ghazghul Thrakka painting tutorials using the Artist Opus dry brushing set. I was literally amazed at the finish you and the brushes could achieve on the space wolves vehicle, it looked like it was airbrushed. Your making some seriously solid videos with those brushes keep going!
Loving the channel so far! Great help, so thank you... Would love to see some methods for different coloured hair... Thats something I always struggle to get "real" looking for my Space Wolves.
If like to see some alternative models at the end of videos to show different color schemes using the same techniques. I would also like to hear about distribution outside the UK.
Hi Brad, this is something we would likely just make other videos for due to the time it takes to do but great suggestion! and we ship worldwide but if you do have any other questions please drop us a line at trade@artis-opus.com :)
Great series! Always liked drybrushing, but your videos has opened my eyes to an even greater degree! I have an idea about painting squigs/squighoppers/boingrot bounders in an illuminated fashion, like they've eaten too much glowing mushrooms and gained that attribute themselves. Could ofc be done on other models instead, but would like to see your take on it either way!
Fantastic channel and tutorials! The technique of drybrushing here is totally on a different level. Next video, probably something flesh toned colours would be great. Keep it up!
A vid on painting yellow would be awesome. I’m thinking of starting an Imperial Fist army but alto of my friends have mentioned how difficult it is to get a decent yellow affect on the Space Marine armour. Love your work, stay safe 👍🏻
As I mentioned on a previous video - I'd love to see an army wide yellow scheme (for example: Imperial Fists / Lamenters Space Marines, or maybe Tau or Eldar painted yellow? ). A nice vibrant yellow, rather than an orange or off white. I'd also love to see it done with the series D brushes across both a vehicle and an infantry model - so we can get a better ideal of how that would look across a whole faction.
That Stormcast looks great. Really interested in the series D brushes. I would love to see the series D can be used on an organic skin based model. Something like the untamed beasts or maybe a blood letter, something without armour and sharp edges.
Fantastic video, really like how that black armor came out. Would personally love to see you do some scifi style OSL maybe with a blue or green light source.
This is awesome! Really good stuff. I would love to see OSL, something like one of the nighthaunts that’s holding a torch or similar. It would be even better with a couple of different example colour light sources!
Painting leather could be an interesting video with a lot of application. Or maybe also osl with a space marine jump pack and the thrusters of said jump pack casting different light onto the marine maybe?

Or perhaps maintenance and care of the brushes
Hey John, yeah this is one we are going to be getting to very soon!!
I'd love to see a video on camouflage cloaks and dirt effect
Great idea, thanks for the suggestion!
Would love to see quick drybrushing of rotten flesh or regular flesh for that matter.
Solid choice Ross!!
I have to say, I've really been enjoying the "How to paint" series you've been doing with the dry brushes. Really clear and informative and just nice to watch. Keep up the great content!
I'd love to see something like Necrons or Custodes next. Very metallic!
Thanks for the super kind words and yep, solid suggestions there so stay tuned!
I've just done a test run. I'm liking the result. Can't wait for my series D to arrive
Oh amazing dude, pleased for you! Thanks so much for your support :)
I would love to see your take on how to do red armour really simply, preferably drybrushing only. People tend to go really complicated with it but a beginners guide would be really useful.

Oh thank you so much for the kind words Eduardo! 🥰
True mark of an artist...
Paint all over the hands👍
Nice job. On the model of course.
Great tutorial on painting your hand. Miniature looks good too.
Something that's alive!
how about a great unclean one ;)
And Of course OSL!😘 I already seen the magic of terrain, but wants more! Love all your brushes! 😍
:)
Really enjoyed the tutorial. Being able to create that with drybrushing, with 3 colors - Brilliant! 🤠👍
Glad the video helped!!

100% great idea a combination of the bone, weapons and armour panels and those fantastic shields - we could have a lot of fun with those!!

Let us know how it goes dude!
This sounds tricky, give us some learning time and we'll give it a bash :)
I’d enjoy either (or both!) a video about brush care, especially tip preservation, or OSL instruction.
Imperial fist marines, yellow is a very challenging color. Awesome tutorial by the way going to try jt once im back home from overseas.
Thanks for the kind words Ellison, I'm sure you'll knock it out the park and you know where we are if you need some hobby advice!
They are working on a yellow currently as I made a comment for a yellow in another video
Very nice effect on this black armor. May need to give those brushes a go. Right now going through one to three drybrushes a month. Thanks for the nice video.
Thanks so much mate😉 I certainly recommend you trying out the brushes! Would love to see your results too if you tag us on social media.
Another great vid. OSL would be interesting to see. or the ice effect mentioned in another comment.
some lizardmen!! that would be awesome with your dry brush technique. Bright bold colors! Love the work keep it up.
Thanks Jared - Much appreciated!

Would love to see some organic skin/scaly skin. With mottled effect or patterns.
I could listen to your voice all day Byron.
Great idea this is definitely on our list :)
I'm so glad this channel is beginning to regularly post tutorials. Some of these effects with a drybrush are just incredible.
As for future videos, I would love to see how to do an ice effect with series D. Particularly, with a dark purple hue as the shadows.
Thanks for the kind words and the suggestion Tyler - Legit idea :)

That's amazing dude, thank you so much! I hope they serve you well :)
Loved the tip on quickly adding the base environment to the armour! Would love to see a tutorial on painting cloth/capes.
Keep your eyes peeled to the channel and you will be VERY pleased!
You are the Dry brush master, and the contrast paint master is juan hidalgo! Glad that people like you guys doing awesome content!
Thank you for the kind words!!
Great video! I'd love to see more painting of fabric, cloaks, coats that kind of thing; and as much on how to drybrush skin (especially big flat sections like legs) as possible!
absolutely!
Great tutorial and thanks for this channel. I would like to see Space Wolves or a very dark green Dark Angel.
On it Dario!
Just bought a new Ork army I am desperate for a video of you drybrushing their bright armour, Artis Opus are smashing these tutorials at the moment keep up the stellar work guys!
Thanks Alan!!
I’d like to see a Star Wars Legion storm/death trooper painted mostly with series d brushes. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Good call what better models to show off white and black right?
So many great suggestions in this thread! I would love to see some more rust/corrosion weathering effects. Thanks for all the great content!
Very welcome :)
I have really been enjoying the instructional videos. I have picked up a lot of tips that I can’t wait to try out. I’d like to second the comment on painting the Star Wars Legion Death Troopers. Great result, thanks for sharing. Looking forward to giving this technique a try.
You're so welcome, buddy! Let us know how it goes and good luck🤞😊
I just saw this after deciding to make Grey Knight Conversions with storm cast, using the base black work up with violet! Awesome video!
Perfect timing!! Glad you enjoyed it and hope it helps you get those minis looking awesome on the table!
I’d love to see a video on camo pattern cloth and armour. This could be on anything from Primaris Eliminators to a Catachan Baneblade or Star Wars Legion Shoretroopers - I have so many things I need a good camo recipe for!
🤘🤘🤘
Real game changing tutorial for me... thanks a ton guys.
Our pleasure Bryan! You're welcome :)
I'd like to see some leather effects and cloth tutorials. Also black tank with the previous drybrush techniques would be cool to see, that's something what I will be trying out for sure.
You know it Zouna
Would love to see weathering, Leathers and fabric. Great stuff so far!
cheers Oliver!
I ordered my series D set last week, super pumped to get them! I see someone had already recommended maintenance and brush care, so I've up-voted that one but wanted to include myself in the contest :). great content!
Glad you are enjoying it Hutch, and thank you for picking up a set - You won't regret it and we will keep giving you crazy ideas of how to use them :)
I second, glad to hear this coming!
Would love to see your take on a seriphon army or something brightly colored. Love watching to help my drybrush skills ever improve.
Absolutely! And glad we are helping!
Capes/cloth would be cool to see, in purple would be awesome.
Great tutorial! I'd love to see some OSL tutorials next!
I'd like to see a Great Unclean One with like a colour change from bottom to top an a sweet NMM sword or bell.
Nice paint job on the hand btw ;)
On it ;)
A quick NMM Brass or Bronze would be very interesting to see, especially if it can be done with drybrushing. These vids have really inspired me to pick up some terrain to paint and I've bought some Artis Opus products to try and replicate some of your effects. Thanks!
amazing to hear Adam!
I just tried using your technique on one of my Star Wars Armada ships and it looks awesome! Thanks for videos. Love to see OSL, that would be sweet.
Nice! Make sure to share your work with us on Instagram if you use it :)
Excellent videos! Really impressed! Looking forward to more videos, but I’d love to see you tackle the colour yellow or generally OSL techniques.
Thanks Doc!
Please do some more stormcasts!!! Great video. Really like the video too.
I really like how you can add all the detail without using blue! I would love to see you do raven guard eliminators !
Thanks dude!
Great video, given me a good idea for my Darth Vader model.
Next up, I'd love to see some videos on camo patterns for tanks, armour and cloth
Thanks Patrick!
Very cool video! I would like to see just painting on different textures. Such as painting cloth, scales, or fur just to name a few or maybe even large flat areas and how you make them look interesting with stippling techniques.
solid idea Ryan and definitely something we are working on!
Those brushes look great too!
thanks for the kind words!
Nice make sure you share your progress and tag us in it Alan!!
Oh this is wonderful, I am about to start painting a Ravenwing army and this is quite helpful!
Glad we helped!
Clone troopers from Star Wars Legion. Interested in seeing how you do white armour, as well as the colours they often have.
You're not the first to ask this, it'd also be a great transferrable technique for Infinity models...
Great Job, i Love it!
I want to see some Eldar or Elfes in an autum color scheme!
A Lot of Browns, Oranges, reds😉
❤️ solid idea!!
I’d love to see turquoise done well especially on robes, keep up the good work 👍🏼
Turquoise is Byron's colour of choice! Im sure we will have plenty of tutorials to scratch that itch!
Nice work and thanks for sharing this. If you've got any tips on Ork skin (the more lurid the better) and properly battered vehicles that would be great. Also, as others have suggested, a brush maintenance video would be handy.
I would love a cleaning and care demonstration video for your dry brushes, or for your entire brush line.
Coming on Monday ;)
I would love to see a tutorial for white Armour like the White Scars have or the Sisters of the sacred Rose. I really like these tutorials and hope that there are many more to come 😊
Definately plenty more to come Jan :)
That's a great result. I look forward to seeing the basing video.
I would like to see a video where you discuss the merits of using the series D and when you would and wouldn't use them. Probably demonstrated on a Trogg! :D
Thanks Chris! Appreciate the compliment and great suggestion :)
Imperial Fists Yellow armour for me.
I find yellow to be a really awkward colour......and besides, Dorn Lives!
Thanks for the suggestion! Yellow is definitely coming soon!
I would love to see a quick video about the cleaning and care (brush soap, etc.) of those big brushes.
Coming tomorrow!!! Stay tuned
@@ArtisOpus Looking forward to it. Will check it out after the little one goes to sleep.
Great idea dude, anything to help people getting into the hobby with stuff that we can make more clear :)
Another great video and an amazingly painted mini, would love to see you do the extreme osl you see where it looks like a character is standing outside when it's dark and has a campfire lighting up half their face
I would love to see some osl/volume lighting examples!
Phenom Vid. Would love to see groundwork and vegetation applications. Also, would love to see a military aircraft with camo totally drybrushed. Keep up the great vids.
thanks for the kind wor
I would love to see an eldar tank dry brushed. They're a different take on the necron flyers. Lots of smooth bumps to fade highlights around. Love the effects and the time it take with these brushes!
I may or may not have an Eldar and Tau tank fighting for an important slot for our 10k subs video...
Great video. Series S is the best brush i have used so far. Good job!
Awesome! Thank you so much! 🤩
Great stuff!! Now I really, really need some Artis Opus brushes!!
Friend, your painting videos are the most useful of those I've seen. On them I learn to paint my minies. Thank you for doing this!
Could you show how to make purple-pink armor for Emperor's Children?
You are very welcome, thank you for the kind words :)
I'm just going to strap in and see what comes next these tutorials are great :D
Thanks Luke!!
Love to see brush care and some OSL
Consider it done John :)
Great video!! I'd love to see how to paint iridescent scales. Like some snakes have, that change color when you look at it from different angles.
Loving the channel so far! Great help, so thank you... Would love to see some methods for different coloured hair... Thats something I always struggle to get "real" looking for my Space Wolves.
Thanks for the kind words!
This will be perfect for my Combined Army, Onyx Contact Force Sectoralis! Will send you pics when I get some done. Thank you alot!
We can't wait to see them!!
Fantastic idea
Fantastic channel and tutorials! The technique of drybrushing here is totally on a different level.
Next video, probably something flesh toned colours would be great.
Keep it up!
you know it - lots more to come!
Love to see fire OSL next!
Would be silly not to do that at some point!! thanks Jeff!
Increíbles pinceles. Fantástico trabajo.
Great job.
Thank you, we are super happy and plenty more to come!
Great method. One other idea I see in really black objects is their highlights can reflect blue tones.
#ComingSoon!!
OSL for sure. I’ve found green plasma glow very difficult to get right, and there aren’t that many tutorials on it. That wold be great!
Amazing, this is something we already know how to do, let us find the perfect mini and we'll get it on the cards :)
Artis Opus Awesome, I look forward to it!
Id love to see something covering how to create some cool element effects, like water/fire/lightening.
absolutely!
A vid on painting yellow would be awesome. I’m thinking of starting an Imperial Fist army but alto of my friends have mentioned how difficult it is to get a decent yellow affect on the Space Marine armour. Love your work, stay safe 👍🏻
I'd love to see a video on how to paint glow like effects without using an airbrush, or one on getting a weathered effect on armour, or both :)
:)
Great suggestions :)
on it :)
@@ArtisOpus Thats great news, looking forward to it.
Fantastic video, really like how that black armor came out. Would personally love to see you do some scifi style OSL maybe with a blue or green light source.
For sure!
