I think it's down to personal preferense. It looks great on a table but wouln't win you any major painting awards. But this technique looks really good ona a fully painted army on a TT.
Exactly: it is an entry level NMM so anyone can try it and develop from here. I know most of you either do great NMM already, or will do awesome ones in no time at all!

For detail work, in this video I used a 2, but a good quality 3 that can hold a point is my favourite because it has lots of paint in its belly and you need to have that "tank" for long sessions and painting batches.

You say not display quality but I love the style and think as an army they would display brilliantly. Love the vid.
