Everyone get in here new mountain dropped! Seriously y’all are dropping so many videos it’s insane. I just got into Warhammer when the old world dropped and I’ve never been so excited to see you flourish as well as this! Thank you so much for making these videos and being just all around awesome!
I just recently started reassembling my Empire army; I haven't played a tabletop game in over 20 years. None of this technology existed when I played Warhammer, so I've been so excited to discover all the creator content. None of us knew how to paint; there was nobody to teach us. House rules become necessary when we collectively didn't understand something. It's just wild to think about it. You guys are absolutely my favorite, though. The vibes here remind me so much of the tabletop experience that I'm nostalgic for (and hope to recreate playing ToW).
I just feel bad that so many times Luka moves his blocks and acknowledges that he will be flanks charges and he just thinks that it won't be that bad. Again his whole block just melted. :D
you cant change where you charge an enemy (flank/rear) with drilled. because the place where you charge the enemy is figured out when you declare the charge and have not yet been able to use drilled. its page 127 core rulebook
"if I were taking a more competitive list, I wouldn't take the flayed hauberk" Vampires are by far my favorite part of the Vampire Counts army, its the whole reason I picked them as a faction. Necrarchs especially are my favorite. In any of my more competitive lists, I do not include vampires, especially not caster vampires.
I think funky terrain makes the game. As a wargamer, your skill should come from how you pilot your army! I wish more players encouraged more terrain shaking up the battlefield. Making factions & armies that have move through cover would be awesome. “In the real world” the knowledge of terrain is the most important aspect of the fight. Look at Russia in WW2, the confederates in the civil war. Single handedly changed the tide of battle many times
The way I see it if the spearmen are touching the zombies, then wouldn't the zombies have stopped as soon as they "touch" corner to corner. And then it would be a disrupted charge on the spearmen?
Shields and spellcasters don't mix _Wizards cannot wear armour. Should a Wizard ever do so, they would be unable to make any Casting or Dispel rolls. This penalty applies to all armour and shields, magical or otherwise, but does not include barding (which is worn not by the Wizard, but by their mount)._
The VC wizard is wearing the Flayed Hauberk "The Flayed Hauberk is a suit of heavy armour which may be worn by a Wizard without penalty. In addition, its wearer has a 6+ Ward save against any wounds suffered." The armour bypasses the usual rule but the debate comes in on whether or not shields are also allowed. There are several items/special rules that bypass this rule and to the best of my knowledge it hasn't been an FAQ answering if shields are also allowed under these rules.
@@alexarnold259The Flayed Hauberk is a suit of armour which may be worn without penalty. The rule applies to the armour itself only, it doesn't state that the wearer "may wear armour without penalty" like other similar effects.
Flayed Hautrek and shield is whatever, I'd rule it the same way. But I am curious what's the thought behind taking the Armour of Meteoric Iron and a shield on that banner bearer. Am I missing something?
You can wear the Flayed Hauberk wothout penalty, this doesnt allow you to wear any and all armour without penalty, only the Hauberk itself. The Warhammer Police are on their way to you now
I am curious. Why is it useless to pay for the banner and musician as a death army? I get that loosing 1 or 2 extra models dosent mean much, but winning a combat because of the +1 (for the banner as an example) can mean a lot if the opponent fail their lead test.
1) You're never expecting to win combat with those units, as you're deliberately putting them in front of units that outclass them just to tarpit them, so the opponent break test is probably moot - they're here to lose but keep fighting anyway 2) When those units eventually get destroyed (which you expect), the banner just gives the opponent free victory points - a proportionally large amount compared to the low VP they'll score from the unit itself (1 banner gives almost as many VP as 20 zombies!!) 3) If you're always expecting to lose combat a musician will probably never come into play, and an extra zombie or two has more value

I feel Luca, as much as he says he doesn't want a competitive list needs to at this point to counteract his bad rolls and Steve's luck. Competitive doesn't mean Competition. Also I wouldn't mind just for a game or 2 for them both to just go as competitive as possible even if they still play it casual just to see what they could come up with, if you're both doing it it should still be even, unless there are already broken armies.

The Vargulf reminds me of that Dracula movie with Gary Oldman. Though he may have been closer to a Vargeist? Awesome terrifying looking model anyways
You're probably not that way off, the Blood knights armour looks heavily inspired by that movie as well
Shields are not armor. However, the rule is they cannot wear armor or shield.

Beastmen agree
2:14:34 "I dont double outnumber you so you fall back in good order" What?! There are 40 zombies right there nibling on the archilector robe!
No there wasn’t
Epic battle report. Thank you both as learning a lot from watching the vids. New VC player
Anyone know where that vampire is from (year of production) that Luka uses? I think it's such an awesome model, love the sculpt.
I really like it as well! It's a old Dark Eldar Archon with a head swap and a shield. I believe the vamp head is from the zombie dragon kit.
A classic matchup 👍 love it
Steve hadn’t we agreed that you are not allowed to take the ruby ring for the next 6 months..?
The way I see it if the spearmen are touching the zombies, then wouldn't the zombies have stopped as soon as they "touch" corner to corner. And then it would be a disrupted charge on the spearmen?
Great video, awesome chemistry between you makes it a joy to watch.
What paint recipe do you use for your bases? Loving that brown/tan for base colors

Wouldn't the Zealots have a ward save against the Vampire's attacks or what do I miss?
Steve! You would have auto-passed those fear tests to charge on your turn 6 (maybe the knights were out of range)
Hi..! Where is that Mat from?
Keep the VC batreps rolling!! Love em, definitely my favorite army (and the only army I own irl lol)
Hmmm... Interesting. I make Empire list very similar... But with tank instead altar. Is this meta borning?
Is Luka just the worst dice roller to ever roll?
It feels like he just always has a permanent debuff when playing Steve.😂

Awesome guys as always a great game
thanks!!!
👍🏻
Hello ;)
you lost close order due to the lack of models after the vargheist killed 3 knights.
there was 6 knights in the unit
@@MountainMiniaturesI see I see. so you still had 6 unit strength from 3 heavy cav, correct?
@@tomcorbett6089correct
Bit problematic to make a friendly VC list. You either go competitive or you kinda suck, it's more difficult to stay in the middle
New age warhammer/40K has no soul…
I take it 40k has just been dropped from this channel entirely? Lol.
