I have a friend from Egypt who talk to me almost daily and watch Bulgarian TV series and for about 8 months of practice speaks almost perfectly which is amazing. As a half Bulgarian and half greek who grew up in many countries i would say that although it's very practical it's not the most. That W takes the greek Alphabet due to it's presence literally in every language expect Chinese based ones and another few.
The letter which looks like "P" is actually pronounced like "R" and the letter which looks like "N" ("И") is actually pronounced like "i", "B" is pronounced like "V", "X" is pronounced like "H", "C" is pronounced like "S", "Y" sounds something like "U" but not exactly the same.

With our languages have difference in leter "ъ" and "щ", because in Russian ъ isn't reading voice(just like "ь" but more hardly) and щ says without "t" voice. Also in Japanese have same "Russian not normally pronouncing ъ", for example: 金曜日 - kinъyoubi - Friday. Even you can check it 🙂
@@АлександрМилорадович There are few more differences: Е is always pronounced like Э (even though Russian has this but only after Ж, Ш, Ц) О is always pronounced O and not changed to A or Ъ sound Щ in Russian is soft Ш, while in Bulgarian there is no soft Ш. Ь is always paired with О to make Ё sound and it's rarely used like how Ъ is rarely used in Russian but commonly in Bulgarian. Also Bulgarian lacks of Ы sound and Йе sounds too.

Bulgarian alphabet is way more phonetic than English and French is. Almost every letter is pronounced how you see it but of course there are some exception with devoicing but other than that it's 90% phonetic.

Find a friend who is Bulgarian (I am tho) and you'll learn faster. On the app HelloTalk there are a lot of people learning Bulgarian. :)

This is exactly how Romanians pronounce their alphabet also.
Romania used the bulgarian language officially for a long time and then they romanised their language so there are similarities :)

Learning the alphabet is a USELESS thing. You don't pronounce the letters in the words as you pronounce them in the alphabet.
