Loved brookie but it was at its best for me in the mid 90s with the jordaches , barry grant etc it went downhill for me when the Murray's and the musgroves came in couldn't stand the Simpson family either
I know Jimmy often refers to Gary as “soft lad” or questions his intelligence, but I can’t say I blame him now. What exactly is Gary’s plan? He stashes the gear in Our Kylie’s teddy, rings customs to grass on Mike and Our Lindsey. Okay, he wants revenge, I can understand that. BUT when he finds out the flight stops in Bangkok en-route, suddenly he’s worried they’ll be stopped, searched and detained. But the same thing would happen if they’d actually made it down under thanks to his anonymous tip-off. He’s so worried in fact, he tries to convince the same customs officials it was a joke!! I’m sitting here thinking “WTF did Gary even think was going to happen”? And not forgetting the fact that he would even call round with Jimmy and stays for a few days at Number 10 afterwards. I really hope the next few episodes he explains his rationale because I’m genuinely confused as to how Gary thought this would turn out. Okay. Rant over!
Bev going on about the shopping channel (she means QVC) I suppose around this time (1996) it was at its peak of fame. They could have wove that into Rosie Banks storyline, made her become a teleshopping addict instead of gambling, changing one addiction 🎰 for another 🛍️.
23:02 Steady Eddies most pathetic moment, all because he couldn’t get his leg over with his daughter in law and to top it all she drives away in the motor he bought from his lottery win! Rosie’s face 23:08 is like wtf! Mo get us a couple of scratch cards and book us a taxi to the bingo, I can’t cope with this! Eddie should have looked on the bright side he still had his dirty mag in the airing cupboard and that vhs he lent from Ron and if that didn’t suffice he could of asked Maxi Farnham where the best prozzies are in the city🤭😆
Loved Jimmy Corkhill and Ron Dixon. Classic Brookside
Eh aye aye Mike, that’s some decent Thai scran.

Lindsey didn’t marry Gary for his brains did she?
These few episodes are probably the best there’s so much going on and all on a knife edge that’s why brookie is the one
Maxie Farnham has been a naughty boy getting involved with kerb crawling.
The mute ‘Thai’ airport officials.
Maybe they were struggling with the Liverpool accent? Phrases like “Soff its ed” probably aren’t commonly heard in Bangkok.
