You just opened up my mind explaining pivot width. Don't think I ever had someone explain that to me. Thanks! Funny I've been racing rc for 3 years, and managed still to not know things even though I may have read about it somewhere. It takes someone to just say it, and explain with a real scenario. I appreciate what you do on this channel.
Love these style of videos (to be fair, I love all of the videos you put out). It's really helpful to hear you discuss what you're trying to accomplish in terms of feel, the steps you took to get there, and the things that worked well. As a new racer that doesn't get to the track much, it's easy for me to get into a rut just trying to get as many laps in as possible and not wanting to take the time (or knowing which way to go) to make changes. Definitely have some ideas to try next time out at the track now!
Thanks for the information & Intricacies of what goes into a big race. The close up shots were perfect & your explanation why is what we need more of. This was one of your best. Thanks .
The 2 wheel car, you definitely put in a lot of work and thought to get that car handling close to the way you wanted and it paid off. You can tell that you had to be on top of knowing what the car was good at and it what it wasn't, but you got consistency out of it and that will always give you a chance at pulling off a win. I raced dirt, asphalt, concrete, and carpet oval racing in many different classes and cars over my ten years of sponsorship racing when I was in my late teens to early twenties. I didn't always have the fastest car, but my wins were from setting up a car that I was comfortable driving and keeping how my lap times very consistent. Nice driving Ryan. The four wheel looked like it was handling pretty well, but the Associated driver's car appeared to be on point with it's setup. Anything can happen in the A-main. I once qualified third and honestly expected to get second or third in a carpet oval championship race in 1990 (it was how we placed every qualifier, the top four of us were all in the same heat and we just repeated our runs heat after heat, I think there was only a few tenths of a second between all of four of us). Start of the A Main of a ten car field four minute race, the TQ in front of me got sideways on the start, clipped my team mate in second and I got inside and took the lead in the first corner and never looked back afterwards. I think I had a half lap to three quarter lap lead over second place by the end of the run and I had a lap on the rest of the field. Everything just clicked from the motor choice, to gearing, to battery pairing, to the car setup, and my driving. I managed to get everything right that race and with a little luck at the start and my team mate next to me talking to me and keeping me calm throughout the run I managed to pull off a win. Felt like the longest four minutes of my life :) Congrats Ryan!
Ryan do you always run a 13.5T motor with your 4wd buggy, and 17.5 with your 2wd buggy, because I just bought a trinity 17.5 T slot machine motor and a Xerun XR10 pro generation 160Amp esc passion red. And I planned on putting it into a TRL 22X-4D Elite 4wd buggy, So will that mess up me racing in stock class, I guess what I'm asking is 13.5 motor for 4wd buggy?, And 17.5 motor for 2wd buggy?
Nice track setup, excellent grip, looks like it was great to race on 👍 Appreciate that you talk about setup, the changes you make and WHY!!! Gives all the racers out there something to think about, regardless of what brand they are running! Great job!
Question... maybe this was answered but why did you pick 1:10 scale over 1:8 scale. I'm new to RC hobby and live in the Tampa area. I like the idea of racing rc cars but unsure over 1:8 or 1:10 scale
Nice save at 24:19, had me on the edge of my seat. Any tips on how to prevent air getting into the shocks? I bleed them so that its completely filled with oil (With the shaft about halfway through the travel) but after a couple of days sitting up on a stand there's some air at the top of the stroke.
No, that's another one. There are 2 Marshall's at the same time. A bit busy to see. Look at the different colors of the cars. Not sayin those things don't ever happen though.
Going over the table top to flat your car looks super composed. Anytime I land on flat mine bounces like a ping pong ball unless I land on the throttle. But when there's an immediate sweeper and I land on the throttle the car tumbles as I turn in...
After writing my comment I finished watching the video and saw your mention of vrp pistons/composure landing to flat....so maybe I'll give those a try. Nice talk 😶
@Ryan Harris your videos are Awesome educational loads of info on pivot suspension sway bars and more. Shoot a race video like this of you racing in 4wd mod. Would be awesome to see how you do and share your experience and buggy knowledge setup. Congratulations on your win in 17.5. Aaron, Honolulu Hawaii
The marshall put the other guy back on the wrong side of the track right in traffic lolll marshalls should make sure to not ruin another guys race just to hurry for a guy that crashed.. the guy crashed thats his problem, not the other racers problem..
Shame about that 4WD race. You had the faster car through the middle, and through the chicane onto the straight. You backed off to race clean, and that cost you the rhythm, and made you come up short. Proof positive, no good deed goes unpunished.
Dustin is a good dude and definitely didn’t want to wreck him so I went in the marbles and had no drive going into the rhythm. I’ll get him next time 😎

AHHHH that's the stuff. Great to see the throw back video style. Need to through them in every so often. Thank You Ryan, thoroughly enjoyed that one.

Nitro stadium tuck video??
I thought for sure your new sponsor was going to be Altoids when you picked up that container. 😆

Congrats Ryan!
My favorite indoor off-road track in Florida! 💪🏾💯
Doing my first big race this weekend. Your video gets me hyped for mine!!!
Great video! Your two wheel looked pretty dialed! Thanks for posting! 👍
Woo woo Ryan out with another video!!
Wow great job Ryan congrats on your 2wd victory it’s fun to watch your channel and your ability!…

Heck Yeah Keybar!! Been Rocking one for a while now. Awesome man!
Love that track, lots of grip and very nice people. Will go again next time I’m in Florida
Good job on the 2WD win. 🏆 lots of good info as always
Nice save at 24:19, had me on the edge of my seat.

could you do a setup video to explain roll center, toe, camber, shock oil, diff fluid for newbie like myself?
question for you, are u gluwing the side walls with ca glue?? for less side bite on the track, wen jou are on power.
What happened at 11:51? Did they just put a car at the front wrongfully?
No, that's another one. There are 2 Marshall's at the same time. A bit busy to see. Look at the different colors of the cars. Not sayin those things don't ever happen though.
I really enjoy the atmosphere at new red's, really considering racing, for the first time at 51, which class would you suggest?
Awesome Edit!! I didn't know you had blue heeler's in the states, beautiful doggo's 😊🤙🤙
I’m just gonna ask what everyone else is thinking - When are we going to see more of the gas truck? Great video
Yes please!
👀 that sct in the back with a new paint job! Hopefully we can bash em up at a race soon just got mine together!
What kind of raw tires and compound are you running at masters of dirt this year Ryan?
Hey Ryan! Absolutely stellar video! Have you ever thought of coming to Cali for the SDRC Top Gun race?
You had that really tight stuff directly in front of you way dialed. You reeled in the next driver there every lap.
Congratulations Ryan! That was great!
Love these vids!! Always a great job and thank you!!
This was great!👍 Love it man. Thanks Ryan.
What’s more important? Feel or lap time?
Are those cigars back there?

I love the edit Ryan, keep up the good work!👍🔥
As much as I LOVE no needing to borderline pressure wash my Buggy after a race... I kinda feel that hard packed clay like this isn't dirt heh
feel the same its not dirt its more like concrete floor.
Great explanation on the pivots, gives me something to try. 👍
another great vid, look forward to when they are posted
?, what grit sandpaper do you use when sanding down tires???
Not sure what Dustin was using but use 80 grit
Awesome race and content 👍🏁🏆🍩
I just noticed your Humidor! you rock :)
I don't know if Sway Bars alone would have fixed the roll over, you might need to adjust the roll center as well
Nice 87 NHRA gator nationals I love rc cars and drag racing
How come these cars are so fast with a 17,5 stock motor?
That track looks fun! Thanks Ryan!
You the man Ryan, good job.
WTF was up with that pit marshall in the 4wd final
🏁Awesome!
Did you like it and were is at
As a UK racer who races Astro and carpet these tracks that are high grip in America always look low grip and slippy to me 😂
@Ryan Harris your videos are Awesome educational loads of info on pivot suspension sway bars and more.

I Love this style of Videos
What’s the name of the song from that edit
With how that track looks i would have gone to gear diff in 2wd and try light sway bars on the 2wd
Gear diff was a quick, terrible idea haha. Newreds is weird man
@@RyanHarrisRC it looks like it for sure have you guys tried very soft front sway bars
Love the vids mate thanks again🙂
Thank you for the set up tips!
Dang no shout out in the beginning 😭. Had a good time out there
I forgot! You'll be in the next one
Love the setup tips.
2wd looks dialed but 4wd is losing time in the mid corner and abit more mid corner rotation would get the car alot faster.
Damn I wish we had something like this in nyc or jersey
The races are out there, you just have to dig a little...
awesome shirt...i was there :)
First!!! drive hard!
awesome
whoa what was up with the marshall advancing that car 2 or 3 turns and placing him back in front of you guys. that shit is annoying
The Marshall on the front right side has no spacial awareness
She's gorgeous
The marshall put the other guy back on the wrong side of the track right in traffic lolll marshalls should make sure to not ruin another guys race just to hurry for a guy that crashed.. the guy crashed thats his problem, not the other racers problem..
