Ron Devoll is that fast guy... He has a great attitude both on and off the track he has a wonderful spirit of helping others. I remember seeing him and his dad at the local club races around SoCal... many years ago and I saw Ron go so fast that no one can keep up with him LOL keep up the great job Ron and Steve good job training him LOL
that clip from the mod wheeler qual was freakin' awesome! Everyone completely silent, drivers 100% focused, everyone going fast, man what a good feeling it is to see everyone in their groove
great video as always, you bring alot to the hobby in help for the up and coming crew of racers, us old guy pick up a ton too. this hobby is great i am 55yrs old and through racing i have met some of the best people and friends a person cold ask for ... i started racing back in 1985, i was racing when my wife went into labor with my oldest son ... he was born in 87 i got him into racing when he was 7, he's 33 and we still race together, it has been great to watch him progress in the hobby through out his adult years ... i am just hoping the hobby stays strong!
I love watching racing RC content like this. You are one of the few out there. Does anyone cover RC racing news? or international events? practicing and prep for various races? post race cleanup/teardown? the difference in the racing classes? who drives what, and why? Backyard racing? DIY lap timing setups, fastest laps? Different types of races, history and evolution of the races? I find racing and its complexities to be far more interesting than unboxing binding and bashing. Keep it up!
First great driving. I came from racing with 1200 1700 cadmium cells! Seemed the shock oil on rear of 4 wh was off, maybe just a tiny bit to thin. When you powered on to jump the rear would push back to fast and push nose down. I was big into RC in 90's vellow and all. I live close to this, did not know about it would have came and watched. When you kept cutting that one corner, you jumped over, I thought that cost you especially on two wheel. Great race I loved every sec. took me back. I was known as White Zombie or Enforcer. Favorite track One Stop Hobbies in Cerritos and the D velodrome. Thunder Drome I raced all at the V and did OK.-- Long gone. Z.K.
Sometimes I miss living in Cali, because of places like Huntington Beach which was 15 minutes from where I was raised. No I’ll probably never move back, but I really want to go to this track now. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Really great channel man. Good clear motion video, and well spoken and easy to understand. I really like seeing how good drivers can have not-so good, and really good laps, and not just show the clean laps. Only just subscribed a few weeks ago - hi from Australia!
Ryan thank you so much for getting me into RC racing. I watch all your videos and love them. All your gear is top notch. Your knowledge about setup and racing in general is great. Keep it up. Thanks again.
Great job Ryan! I'm sure 8th wasn't what you wanted (1st is always best) but with that talent pool you were up against that was great. Great to see you in person to. Top class guy!
Thanks for everything you do on your channel. You inspired me to move from bashing to racing and I have learned so much from your videos. Plus you got the swagger man that makes us choose your videos over some others. Keep up the good work.
About the only reason I would accept going to surf city to be inside! Lol great love the channel. One of a kind. Music= not sure if we see eye to eye but better than the typical top 400 rock.
17:29 freaks out because I know they guy your talking to. He races at my local track here in Utah. Good job keep up the great work. Stay smooth, drive smart, go fast.
Hé Ryan, I just want to tell you that your video's helped me during my race day. I was second in the first main, first in the second and second in the third main, which made me winner in the overal so thank you a lot!
Recently subscribed, been digging your videos. I feel very related to your videos in the sense, (not sure which video it was) but you talked about how you left RC for a long time, you were out of it, and came back. This is kind of where I am at currently. I ordered a wltoys 144001 because it was only 80 dollars and it was raved and hyped on TH-cam pretty good. FELL BACK IN LOVE. Now I want to spend more money and get a much better chassis. I really want your 4WD buggy setup for myself. Gonna pull the trigger pretty soon on those purchases. Your videos have really helped me kind of get back into the terms, what to look for, and the mindset of driving. I know personally that consistency wins, and I felt even more connected to your videos (again, can't remember what video you said that in). You offer much more valuable content (for me) than any other current RC channel. Your off race Camera's are GOOD. I can actually SEE (some RC TH-camrs do this horribly). The only thing I wish beyond, is that you had someone actually filming your races instead of you. I'm assuming you have a phone mount on your controller and shoot with your phone for the track footage. I just want the track footage to improve, and with that, I think you're easily the best RC channel on TH-cam currently. Please please please do not stop putting on this amazing content. This guy is on the road to a million subscribers, calling it here first!
Awesome job Ryan, that’s an amazing track at OCRC and I low racing there is like no other! I think you did great and next time you go it will be even better! 👍‼️🇺🇸
Hey Ryan was wondering if you could do a video on how you packed to fly to California. I plan on going to California in December and not sure how to pack my bags to take my cars along. Great videos and thank you.
Hello Ryan, It is great to see you in So Cal. I wish I was able to make it to the race and say hello. Had to work. Im interested to know what you thought of the track layout. Looks like it was a challenge to get a good flow. Hope you enjoyed your trip. Thanks for all you do for the hobby. regards, Glen
Thanks Glen! It was a tough weekend all in all. Layout was very challenging, competition was tight, and long consecutive days are always tough on the mental side of things. But super thankful I was a part of an awesome race event!
I just got into the racing about 3 months ago. How many times a week do you go out and practice/race? I try and get as much practice as I can. But I only get to the track 1 time a week.
When are you coming back....lol.... I can take you to a really cool outdoor track ... CCR Controlled Chaos Raceway... sometimes blueGroove sometimes it's sugar... But all the time it's traction LOL... and when I'm in your neck of the woods I'll look you up and meet you at a track so we can have some fun and race trade tips and tricks
Hey mr Ryan Harris .... I just watched your video , Awsome video ! OCRC track lay out looks awsome and fun to drive that’s one of my rc dreams is go to ocrc and race . 👍 Hey if your ever come to northeast and get the itch to race carpet or turf ...... Here some tracks to go to RCHR IN CONN , T&T hobbies my home track , Cruzin RC in NJ 3 awsome tracks I go too! KEEP UP THE AWSOME VIDS COMING RYAN 😄👍
Glad you keep posting the video you do a great job. Your caption is a plus it normally on point and correct. Since I'm hearing impaired it does me wonders. Al though I don't own you vehicle. I would like to know how you chose motor high rpm vs torque. Gonna be switching out an old novak 17.5 soon. For so some input would be great in this field.
Ryan, if I have the time, I would like to visit some race tracks in America. And also get some experience on real clay surfaces! We do not have that in Switzerland!😢
Video is DIALED man! Admittedly spent the too much time watching the video trying to find myself in the crowd...haha. Glad to have practiced with you on wednesday. I should have stuck around and club raced that night. Hope you enjoyed your time out here on the west coast.
Another great video!! Hopefully we cross paths while I'm traveling for work. I typically always bring my 13.5 wheeler and sometimes my 17.5 if I feel like traveling with 2 cars. If you're ever up in the Boston area, check out RC Excitement.
I love the family going racing. I went with my parents as a kid and now im taking my kids to races. This is the best hobby to be a part of, the community is amazing! Also what is the next race you maybe attending on the east coast?
I love watching your content. That said, I feel I need to address the elephant in the room. Being, in this point in history with Covid still a justified concern, why is nobody wearing masks. I mean, my local track is just down the road so to speak in San Diego and we are required to "mask up" when on the drivers stand and maintaining distance, and in the track shop. Don't get complacent feeling it can't happen to you. Cause it can!
I posted a similar comment. I was shocked to see so many people without mask. It is very serious at my track it’s mask on no exceptions. I guess that’s why my state Massachusetts has low COVID numbers. Once again love the videos.
I was thinking exactly the same. In the UK, due to rising numbers of infections, we can only race if wearing a mask the entire time we're at the venue, even outside! Until recently, it was only needed on the rostrum. No one likes having to do it, but if it means we can continue to race, and stay safe, so be it. That said, love your videos, both the racing content and the setup stuff, really informative.
I wanted to amend one thing, at about 2:25 into the video shows a friend and fellow racer, Tito Gonzales, blowing off the track. He was wearing a mask. And when I talked to him yesterday, he told me that he, his son Josh and a friend were the ONLY three people in the building wearing masks. Further more, he said that they were teased and made fun of, almost to the point of being ostracized. And when we talked at SDRC yesterday, he was wearing his mask.
Edward Mullen very sad and pretty disappointing to see a big race with such talented people being so careless! I see the gentleman with mask on using the blower, damn shame he was made fun of for trying to be safe.
Why does that guy have his feet on the track during the Mains? Also thanks for all the effort to make these vid's/vlogs they encouraged me to get back in the hobby after 33 years(1987) and now my 14-year-old daughter is racing indoor(short course clay) 2wd Buggy with me.

Definitely would subscribe if you started one
I want to travel more! Work and expenses are always the deciding factor. If I ever start a Patreon, I will certainly let everyone know. Thanks for the support man!
RIP OCRC I grew up at this track racing. Made so many friends. I'm so sad that it's gone.
What!!!
I like how easy it was to follow your car. Whatever your headgear setup was it was spot on.
Wendy On for real! I wonder what it is?
I like these longer style videos that show most of the race.
Glad to hear it!
Me tooo.
Ryan, I send you a DM at Instagram😎
Ron Devoll is that fast guy...

Ryan, your an amazing ambassador for the hobby and what it should be... always fun and chill.
Thank you! I try my best to make it fun!
Agree 100%

The intro brought me to tears. Miss off-road racing and the friends so much. Great video Sir.

That young man at 2:13 performed one of the best feats of marshaling that I've seen in a long time. Impressive.
Sometimes I miss living in Cali, because of places like Huntington Beach which was 15 minutes from where I was raised. No I’ll probably never move back, but I really want to go to this track now. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
New video! My 1/8th Nitro Competition buggy literally just arrived, too. Talk about good timing! :D
Great racing and car control...wish we had these facilities in the UK....cheers
Really great channel man. Good clear motion video, and well spoken and easy to understand. I really like seeing how good drivers can have not-so good, and really good laps, and not just show the clean laps. Only just subscribed a few weeks ago - hi from Australia!

About the only reason I would accept going to surf city to be inside! Lol great love the channel. One of a kind. Music= not sure if we see eye to eye but better than the typical top 400 rock.
Wish we had tracks like this in my part of country! I would be there everyday!
West Coast setups are definitely something to get use to, crazy how much difference their is from here in fla to cali...
17:29 freaks out because I know they guy your talking to. He races at my local track here in Utah. Good job keep up the great work. Stay smooth, drive smart, go fast.

I’ve always thought rc racing was pretty boring but damn some of these races were intense
good to see you at the track. We need to get you out for the JC Stock Nats next year.

What would be a good budget comp buggy? Im planning to do 2wd and want to stay around 300-350. Got any suggestions?
Are you needing everything? Car, radio, electronics etc. Or just the kit?
Thank you for making great content, your very humble and wish one day I can shake your had and say thank you in person. God bless.
If you ever see me, don't be shy!

Great video Ryan do you have plans to attend the surf city 2021?
Come out to Vegas for some amazing Carpet racing at 702RCRACEWAY.
very good video and great job adapting to larger venues.
Love every vid you make mate, always entertaining and educational, a great ambassador ... However, charging your LiPo IN the car... tut tut tut ...
Dude you are at one of my local tracks.....of course on the weekend I have surgery on monday
Hi Ryan great video as always. quick question ~ pros and cons of stick radio v wheel radio? Cheers from theUK
So excited for this video been waiting for it 😄 🤙🏻
I love the family going racing. I went with my parents as a kid and now im taking my kids to races. This is the best hobby to be a part of, the community is amazing! Also what is the next race you maybe attending on the east coast?
great video my dude i just started and its so fun
but what are you best tips for starters and what is the first song called???

Nice edit!
OCRC has been my home track for 28 years.........before you were born😎
Flattered you think I'm that young lol
I drive onroad but I watch the videos anyway 😁love them 👌
Why does that guy have his feet on the track during the Mains?
Also thanks for all the effort to make these vid's/vlogs they encouraged me to get back in the hobby after 33 years(1987) and now my 14-year-old daughter is racing indoor(short course clay) 2wd Buggy with me.
Love that! Hope you guys have many awesome days at the track together!
Dude when I saw that foot on the track I almost flipped out.
Such a bad ass video bumed i wasn't able to come out and watch!
Next time!
Been waiting for some new content! How many likes on this video to get weekly uploads. Great footage ryan. Killing it as always
What an amazing video! Looked like it was a great time. That track is awe inspriring. Do you have plans of doing more travel to other events? Just got myself a 22 5.0 elite. Can't wait to get it on the track.
Congrats Ryan and keep up the great work and keep the videos coming. Definitely learning a lot of tips and tricks.
Any thoughts on starting a patreon account? Definitely would subscribe if you started one
I want to travel more! Work and expenses are always the deciding factor. If I ever start a Patreon, I will certainly let everyone know. Thanks for the support man!
Hate the tire warmers, but love your video.
Ryan - what are you using to hang your cars up over your workbench there? Looks like some kind of strip?
@Ryan Harris how did the you feel about the competition? Compared to all the other tracks you race at?
Very strong! Everyone was prepared and going fast it seemed
Great vid...what's the intro song?
9:30- J.WATSON...local legend👍
What motor are you running in your truck? That was your f150 bodied truck running around on there right?
best rc vids on all youtube!
Awesome Job Ryan!
Do you think the last minute changes on the 2wd helped? Looked like you were struggling to get side bite on the rear in the main.
Quick question - no holds barred, no penny unspent - best ESC / Motor combination for AE 6.2D - 17.5 T/ 2S??
Thank You for the video. I enjoyed watching it. Stay Safe ang keep on Racing
