Jarad will for ever be my favorite commander. The shock at the table as you spend 12 mana and dish out 40-50 direct unpreventable damage to everyone is just so satisfying.
There's something quite poetic about using Campfire to put Iname from the command zone into your hand so you can get your ETB effect. Its like people sharing stories of the spirit around a campfire at night.
I got a The Gitrog Monster and Chevill, Bane of Monsters deck. The Gitrog Monster is a landfall deck and probably one of the strongest decks I own as well as one of the more expensive decks. Chevill, Bane of Monsters is one of the newer decks I've built and it was quite fun to build. It is a tribal Deathtouch deck. Was thinking about putting in Hapatra but couldn't fit enough -1/-1 counter support to make her reliable, she is more of a build-around commander then a can-slot-in card. Was really considering doing a Savra, Queen of the Golgari deck with a lot of the cards in this vid but was really against making another BG deck. I wanna make a deck for all color pairs and three colors. So far I got all but WG, WU, UB, UBR, and WUR. I got mostly UB and UBR built(around 80% still need to sort out lands and finalize) with plans for WUR and maybe WG. WU is still one that I haven't found a commander I wanna play.
I really liked the concept behind this episode. I would personally like to see a little less jokes and a little more information. Rutstein 'giving you stuff' doesnt really tell me what kind of decks he has for example. I would like to see Orzhov next.
Have you tried playing with Sarulf in games? It's one of those commanders that makes all the other decks go "oh, I can't play permanents, fun" haha. I have a deck with him but it always feels bad using him but then again I don't have mana crypts and many of the fancy stuff others have. So he balances that out. Apparently, that isn't cool to some.
I go by "Alz" on most of the web, so seeing you at the end just sitting there in a "# end ALZ" sweater threw me for a loop xD Yes, I know it's probably for "Alzheimer's" (which I absolutely want to end) but still lmao
I was running a Gyrus, Waker of Corpses Hydra deck, but I'm deciding to take out the red and add some graveyard shenanigans. Make the hydras come back stronger or Scavenge their power (pun intended. RTR is when i played the most)
Gitrog is very nice. The only thing that sucks about it is that you have to play Eldrazi (both, if you want to enable the forbidden tutors) and they really hurt with Ad Naus. Well, that and the lack of blue, ofc 😅
Not including Reyhan, Last of the Abzan? (I mean, it does have Partner, so it doesn't have to be just Golgari, but you could...) +1/+1 counter shenanigans forever!
I like to play Gyome with either a karaoke version of that chef’s song from The Little Mermaid playing or Kitchen Nightmares with Gordon Ramsay on quietly in the background.
Pharika is great against graveyard matters decks bc she can just shut them down, or just exile the fun stuff from the graveyard before it can come back to make life miserable aagain.
It would be super fun to see this in all the 2 color combos

Either he or Varolz are the best if you want to build a Hulk deck. Varolz has the more reliable sack outlet but Grist can do more stuff.
