Having watched countless heart wrenching holocaust survivor testimonies, I will never forget Rudolph and Eva Roden. Their very personal, animated descriptions of hell, how they remained so human after their experience is a miracle! I found myself hoping against reason that they were still among us. These and other testimonies are a vital treasure of history and humanity and must be watched by every human on earth!
@Misha Peterson Heartfelt condolences. It is unbelievable what your parents endured and how they stayed sane and where the light is. It seems difficult to accept that survivors are no longer with us...
Anyone having difficulty hearing the interview use headphones and you'll hear everything great. I'm using those freebie headphones you get on an airplane and it is plenty loud and can hear everything very clear.
Indifference and greed for power from people could descend the world to such inhumanity and evil. Germany and Japan were so horrific to their captors. But atrocities occurred on all fronts of the war and history keeps on repeating itself. WWII survivors stories really fascinates me and is a good reminder never to forget. Glad Eva could rebuild her life after enduring such atrocities and hardships and live until 96. Pity some parts of the video was muffled or interrupted. Best of luck to Eva's children and grandchildren.
Eva, you are brave and beautiful and i love you like my own family now. I feel your pain and your joy deeply. My tears flow with you, for you. I think the interviewer did a wonderful job and she seemed very considerate and kind as she helped you remember your way through the most horrific time in your life. Im sorry the film was not very cooperative but i think it still recorded your story for everyone to get a very good picture of your experience in the Holocaust. I hope for you to give credit to Yawah for bringing you and Rodu through the tribulation to the beautiful life you built together. It was not “ lady-luck” but He Who worked out His good plan for your wonderful family. May you all be together with Him for eternity. I look forward to meeting you and your WHOLE family in the New Jerusalem one day. שלום with love ❤️🖖🏻🙏🏻
Wow, Eva is so beautiful. I love the pictures at the end of the video. I hope they can fix the tape because there were parts that weren't running properly. I love Eva's message at the end to, "Stay strong and muddle through." Her family is so beautiful. Hitler didn't win, the strength of the Jewish people continue, and their lives are happy. That is the best revenge. During the testimony I can tell that Eva was reliving each moment, and I just wanted to hug her and tell her that she can let it go now. I just cry because I can see the pain in her face. I know that she has had a beautiful life since then, and it makes me very happy. Always remember and thank you Eva for sharing your story with us. Future generations please be on alert because you never know when this could happen again in some capacity such as citizens losing their freedom.

What an incredible woman! My god, what a story. One of the lucky few that could actually make a nice life for herself after such horror. Imagine the utterly terrifying and tragic experiences she went through life with. Scenes swimming around in her head that we could not even imagine. It had to have taken a toll on her mental health.
Well they really screwed up this video badly How disrespectful to a great lady I only watched the whole video in respect to Eva's testimonial Bless her great soul
These testimonials should be a required course ,along with others , for seniors in each school in America. These students are being taught these events did not happen by liberal teachers. .
I LOVE these interviews but the interviewers are god-awful. Little to no courtsery. I'm disgusted at their callousness. The least they could do is use "please" and "thank you" when speaking. Also, must they really take 'breaks' while the survivors are speaking about their most intimate experiences? Why not take these breaks at different times? Horrible interviewing and I hope they feel ashamed.
The breaks are so that the tapes can be changed I'm not sure how it always seems to land on something everyone finds fascinating. My only thought is the interviewer knows the tape is about to end and allows the Survivor more time to speak
Such a bright and insightful woman. She talks of events so horrible that to her she dealt with daily, but in a manner and voice almost calmly. It is in that calm you hear the voice of true trauma. She thought she found safety in America. To have survived only to die by the policy of that country , or rather President Trump and Covid! The irony is awful.
george tag Amen ! Some of the comments on here are extremely foolish & highly uneducated statements , this woman suffered , the individuals who make dumb comments would probably commit suicide , so please don't criticize this lovely lady :)
Did it ever occur to anyone that the reason God visited this horror show upon our people is because that generation largely turned their backs on the religion of their fathers. No, I don't believe that her grandfather was cruel. He was probably a devoutly religious man who frowned upon his son's abandoning his faith and violating the commandments of the Torah. I wonder what he was thinking when these calamities did befall him. Had he studied the Torah he would have seen that the Torah warns precisely of these severe punishments should any of us break our covenant.
How dare you project your religious fanaticism upon the rest of us. So, they deserved their fate because God was angry at them. That is superstitious nonsense. I would say the same thing if you were any other religion as well.
Actually, before I insist that your post be taken down, I’d like to respectfully ask you whether you would be the one to cast the first stone? My grandpa and my mother, Eva Roden, would have something to say to you. How dare you judge! My great grandfather was a cruel man. Are you a such a zealot that you feel entitled to judge? Shame on you. Read your Bible/Torah without your high hat on. I live my parents’ legacy. Misha Roden Peterson
