This is one of the less sad stories where at least the core family of three survived despite a thousand odds. A wonderful educated woman, a great human being and an excellent story teller. Fantastic stories that no novelist could think up. I am greatful to her to have shared these with us. Also, a very good interviewer, who knew how to listen. Thanks to her also.

    What a story!
The interviewer was amazing. She had the patience to listen and let Edith speak. When they had to change tapes, she said it so gently - not abruptly like most of them.

Wonderful woman. So sad to know the things she had to witness. Amazing to think how much the human spirit can carry one through.

Beautiful lady. Its amazing how everyone's testimony is the same in the sense of survival but just different in the sense how they survived. INSPIRING

The whole time was very sad. Your stories are interesting and make all you went through and the situations that you encountered make those things visual. An extremely strong and quick thinking woman.

Edith survived because she had a quick mind and could come up with convincing stories to explain herself when she came up against those who were questioning her. That is a real gift. Her testimony is one that I will not forget. Actually all of the testimonies I have listened to are unforgettable. Some will always haunt me. Such a terrible chapter in life of mankind.

I could listen to this beautiful, super woman's stories forever. Too bad the interviewer kept coughing.

It’s so sad that she was put in that trauma, where she was forced to exude such bravery and wit and acting skills to save herself and her parents. She was so mentally strong in her fast-paced decisions which all saved her. And having her parents survive and being in contact with them , such luck, but her 48 family members who perished, and her grandfather who took his shoe polish to be clubbed to death on the war to Auschwitz.

The interviewer must have been a hard smoker. She has a deep smokers voice and is often coughing. Sad

Is that a woman interviewer? I thought it was a soft spoken man.

I like her voice. She is a good interviewer, asks relevant questions and doesn't constantly interrupt.
