  • I love living in Thailand and most people that I have spoken to while doing research for my books on Thailand love living here but it does not suit everyone. In today’s video, I will show you some of the reasons that you may not want to live here depending on what you are looking for in a new country and on your outlook on life.

Hi Ged,so nice to hear your different things about good and or bad things about Thailand,I have no interest in “mingle” with other farangs,it would be nice to meet you and have a pint,or two,but I’m no big fan of drinking, cheers.😊😊

Thanks Ged interesting video . In summary three points would bother me . 1. Paper work I guess that could be done by an agent 2. Driving very competent but public transport might be a better option than risky driving . 3. Visa uncertainty I guess a plan B is necessary, whether that’s another SE Asia country or putting things in storage here. The other things you mentioned are not problems for us. One thing though is the local risks of floods and other disasters. Phuket which I normally visit in July is very wet this year . But due to costs we didn’t travel there.

@@user-fe1jg3gs8l Hi Adrian. There's good and bad about living here but the good far outweighs the bad. But your right it's always wise to have a plan B in place.

@@anthonycarney7849 Hi Anthony. Thailand isn't for everyone but it suits me fine and no country is perfect. I have lived and worked in ten countries and there were good points bad points about living in all of them. I know that many people try to retire to a new country and end up going back home for various reasons but for everyone who goes back there's dozens more arriving. More so in this day and age with many western countries being in turmoil.
      Cheers

What sort of people “give their dog away”!? Poor dog.

@@snoopy13946 Mate they gave their dog to their daughter to care for it because they decided to enjoy their retirement in Malaysia. I am sure it wasn't an easy decision but the dog was not young and it would have been unkider to take the dog with them to the heat humidity of Malaysia they must have discussed it with their family and decided it was the right decision and they knew that the daughter would love it and take good care of it. Sometimes life doesn't always go to plan. In a perfect world yes, but unfortunately we are not living in a perfect world.
