    I'm researching wheels for my gs350 4th gen. I'm on air and want to run 8.5x20 and 10x20, 235-35-20 and 275-30-20.
    You mention that your offset are in the 30s or 40s. The offsets are very critical for someone who is researching what fit.
    The video was still informative.

    • @TunerwithKids
      @TunerwithKids  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea my wheels aren’t that aggressive for offset. They were originally built for exact fitment on 2IS with no rub. They specs you looking at are fine. That 35 series front might be borderline for rubbing but if you air up, should be good.

      For AWD, you can’t stagger. Gotta go same size tires or may mess up differentials. Some guys have staggered but got to calculate the exact overal rolling diameter.

    I have some rims coming in and I’m m so nervous they are not going to fit without modifications. I have a 2020 Camry lowered on springs. I have some 20x9 245/35 in front and 20x10 275/30 in rear.

    • @TunerwithKids

    Awesome video and great advice! I am planning on putting on 2018 RC350 oem 19inch rims and I also want to lower it what would be the best way to keep a smooth ride and lowering the car a bit ? Should I get coil overs or would good stock shocks and springs be better for ride comfort? Just worried that the springs won’t work with the 19” wheels. Any tips would help !

    • @TunerwithKids
      @TunerwithKids  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will be find with OEM RC wheels as the offsets and widths aren’t that bad. If you used spacers it may rub. For comfort and based on age of car, go coil overs. Your shocks are probably done so it will be close to same cost for new shocks/springs/rubber caps and labor compared to $1k for good adjustable coilovers. I went cheap and tried out $200 eBay non damper adjustable coilovers. Been working well for almost 2 years.

    What is the best setup for 19"? I don't want the car to be too low as it'd scrape everywhere, just want them to fit well and I want my rear rim to be concave. Thanks in advance.

    • @TunerwithKids
      @TunerwithKids  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think most guys run the same widths, 8.5 front and 10 to 10.5 rear on 19s with similar width tires. You can also go stretch with 225F and 255R like factory. Just got to figure out the aspect ratio that won’t rub. 30 or 35 (which ever matches stock overall diameter. Use a tool like this to calculate www.discounttire.com/learn/tire-size-calculator

    very informative! im thinking of purchasing some 3pc wheels for my 350, obviously it may vary by brand but from what i understood do you think a Medium disk face SHOULD clear the 350 4 pot front calipers? trying for most lip whilst keeping safe offsets, without going crazy camber or fender mod.

    • @TunerwithKids
      @TunerwithKids  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Medium disk will be borderline. The 350 are huge. Best bet is to check out 350phi.com. They have a print cutout that you can use to test in wheels. Also measure the spoke clearance before buying.

    • @TunerwithKids

      20x8.5 and 20x10 like mine with the correct offsets and fitment. 245/30 and 275/30 would be widest with good tire height. You can go 225/30 and 255/30 but the side walls will be rubber bands, that won’t rub.

    • @TunerwithKids
      @TunerwithKids  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wepen935k with the carbon issues on the 250, don’t think Seafoam will be effective. Pushing the car once or twice a day redline would be better to burn off some new carbon. The stuff is gunked on the walls, which is why the walnut media blast is needed.

    • @TunerwithKids
      @TunerwithKids  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      8.5 is fine with the right offset but the rub is the height of the tire. On a 20”, going taller than a 30 will rub on this car.

      @@TunerwithKids you think a 255 in the rear will be too stretched? The reason I ask is because my wheel comes out exactly flush with the 1/4 panel so I know I need a good stretch on them both front and rear. What would you go with on 10in rim ?

    • @TunerwithKids
      @TunerwithKids  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A 265 and 275 on a 10” is pretty square. So going down to 255 will give you a semi stretch but not that bad. Crazy guys be running stuff like 225 or 215 on a 10” which is dangerous IMO. The stock rear is a 255 on an 8.5” so just imagine that tire pulled out 1.5”.

    I’m warning to upgrade my factory 18 inch wheels on my TLX to 20 inch rims with low profile tires.
    My question is when I put them on the car my air sensors malfunctioned inside my dash.
    Since the car is set up for tires that have 35 pounds. Obviously the sensors in the new rims don’t match my Acura and if I put new ones in that do well I still have problems because these wheels only have 30 pounds of pressure not 35?

    • @TunerwithKids
      @TunerwithKids  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need to have the new sensors programmed to the car. Make sure they are sensors for that specific model. Or swap your old sensors to new wheels. Your car should have a setting to adjust the pressure to whatever you need
