Firestorm finisher does not work unfortunately as the text says "each of X targets" not "each of up to X targets" so if you discard 30 cards you must select 30 targets or you cannot cast the spell.
Didn't get to finish the video on my lunch but it seems like he would go really well with the myriad of red "Gain control of target creature until the end of turn, it gains haste" stuff. Just take three or six things every turn and swing em at people.
The thing with the firestorm finisher is that you are going to need x different targets. So if u discard 30 cards to try and kill the table u need to have 30 different legal targets to have the spell be cast
Johnathan Young?! No freaking idea he played magic! Always look forward to the videos of Extra Turns and Game Knights to see how others build decks. Can't wait to see how he's gonna play!

No, because the effect that creates the copies tells you what they're targetting. (And anyway, when you change the targets of something, you can only change what they are, not how many.)
Nope, you can't repeat the targets on the same Firestone. Also it doesn't says "up to X targets" so for 30 discarded cards you need 30 different targets
Yup, Treachery is another one. Lots of cards out there that could potentially be very powerful in this case. Darksteel mutation like cards would be another good one
Regarding the question of what happens if you choose invalid targets for your copies: you _can_ (since the effect itself doesn't target), but if you do, those copies aren't created at all. "707.10e Some effects copy a spell or ability and specify a new target for the copy. If the spell or ability has more than one target, each of the copy’s targets must be that player or object. If that player or object isn’t a legal target for each instance of the word “target,” the copy isn’t created."

I will have fun with my commander deck and i hope that jimmy and josh will come to Vancouver BC one day so i can shake their hands in a Commandfest.
I don't think you'd normally be able to use Zevlor's ability on a rebounded or suspended card. No player gets priority during the untap step, unless you have a creature with inspired or anything else that might trigger on untapping. After that the game goes right to upkeep and the first thing to happen is all triggers get put onto the stack, before any player gets priority.
The trigger casts the spell, and you can respond to the trigger before the spell is cast. Edit: The *trigger resolving* casts the spell. The trigger is on the stack before any players get priority, you are correct. But, before the trigger can resolve, all players must pass priority. This is the window you need to activate Zevlor. While the delayed trigger from Suspend/Rebound is on the stack, but before the spell is.
Quality control made by Wizards these days..... I remember times when Cards never had any issue, curling was completely unknown and the cards were thicker
@@blaze556922 i have opened so many packs from 2002-2005/2018-now and i've seen things that were unimaginable back then. Cards so off-centered that you feel betrayed, cards that weren't cut, cards in commander precons with white spots on them (like a broken pixel on a screen), wrong wordings. For the last one, there is an actual example from the command zone's recent preview card
When Zevlor triggers to copy a spell, what if you counter the spell with his trigger on the stack? Will he still copy a spell that no longer exists? Will his triggered conditions still be met?
When a copy effect affects an object no longer found in the zone it was in, it uses that object's last known information. In other words, if the spell you're copying isn't on the stack anymore (for instance, because it was countered), the copy copies the spell as it last existed on the stack before leaving it.
Hey so I was looking at moxfield at this card. And I saw that in the legality list, it says “not legal in commander/edh”, did they already ban it before it was even released??
No, it's just that it hasn't been released yet, and therefore any copies that might happen to leak out can't be used in any official capacity yet. Check cards from any unreleased set during spoilers and that'll be the case.
Monomania seems like a nice card for this guy. For 7 you put each opponent down to 1 card. Not quite as efficient as Narset-Wheel, but having half of the combo in the command zone seems like it could be worth exploring.
You can see the card already pringling in josh lee kwais hand. Its nice to see the quality of the cards printed are still poor enough to pringle and the prices for the product increases dramatically.
Wow, true... said, I have pile of foil lands that are all bent, some were like that straight out of the box, completely useless as I can't help but notice it when sleeved so they are marked cards
Great episode and all that, but the scary thing I’m worried about is how that card you have there is already a Pringle. Doesn’t bode well for quality control of this set.
When it comes to cEdh or PopperEdh and other could be episodes of extra turns. You can bring in your cEdh players for one, next time Prof is in town have him on it for a popper Extra Turns. I think the other sides your less deep into could do very well on extra Turns.
I'm not sure about this working with rebound or suspend; those spells trigger at the beginning of your upkeep, which means they're already on the stack before you've had priority this turn, so there's no time to activate Zevlar before casting them.
I think they should work. Both rebound and suspend create delayed triggers that happen at the beginning of your upkeep. Those are normal triggered abilities (they can be stifled, for example), and you don't actually cast the spell until the ability resolves, so you should be able to hold priority before they do and activate Zevlar. Suspend especially; casting the spell is even a _second_ trigger that happens after the one that removes a time counter.
Ok, I see that for Suspend; it goes, Begin Upkeep --> Trigger (Remove Time Counter) --> Player Priority --> Resolves (Remove Time Counter) --> Trigger (Cast Suspended spell) --> Player Priority --> Resolves Spell. Where players could respond to the first trigger (Remove Time Counter) before casting the suspended spell. Does Rebound work the same way? I didn't think it would, but looking at the rulings does say that Rebound can be stifled, so I guess it must work the same way. Begin Upkeep --> Trigger (Rebound) --> Player Priority --> Resolves (Rebound) --> Cast Suspended spell --> Player Priority --> Resolves Spell. Is that right?
@@AxillaryPower2 Yeah, I think that's right. IIRC, basically every time you put something on the stack you can hold priority and take another action, which would be the window for Zevlar.

Probably not, Zevlor has an activated ability which creates a delayed trigger, but the trigger isn't technically on Zevlor even though it was created by the activated ability on his card. This card is needlessly complex.
So, with sublime epiphany as your example, say I cast it and only choose to return a target nonland permanent to one of my opponents hands. Would I be able to choose other modes for each of the copies? Because the copies aren't bound by the same "only" restriction? Or do the copies have to have the same modes as the original spell?
Am I the only person confused as to why the errata is "....Targets ONLY a single opponent..." instead of "....-ONLY- targets a single opponent..." It makes so much more sense and flows better if you put only first, it reads very strange with the errata.
"Targets only a single opponent" could be misunderstood as affecting something that targets only a single opponent and also other non-opponent things. The way they wrote it isn't as natural, but it's clear and unambiguous, and that's what they're going for.
So... Sublime epiphany. You cast it, target single nonland permanent and return to opponent's hand. The spell then gets copied 2 times targeting other opponents nonland permanents. Can you also then Draw 2 cards, create 2 tokens, and counter things?
Quantity over Quality seems to be WotC's policy now. When you push out so much content, quality control suffers. We're seeing it more and more. Mandatory errata before the cards are even released, missed cards in pre-cons, and foiling is still a major issue. This is really unfortunate.
