What a great job you did in this demo. Thank you so very much!!! I am 76 yrs old and started doing decoupage about 6 months ago. This has been a tremendous help to try something new in my journey!! Big cyber hug to you!!
thank you. i have been tryiing to print on tissue paper with out success. i was trying to put tissue paper on top of copy paper putting copy paper over tissue paper was so easy again thanks.
I’m so glad I found this video before I went and bought a bunch of napkins and printed tissue. It’s not that they’re expensive necessarily, but I just don’t need packs and packs of napkins hanging around ya know.
I will definitely give these a try. I think you rocked this tutorial. If you hadn’t of disclosed it was your first time, I don’t believe anyone would have guessed it. Thanks for giving us some awesome tips and ideas. Hugs from KY
Hello Cara Renee’ so happy to see you today. I love printing on these items also fabrics and tracing paper. I use a cheep glue stick spread lightly, and it peals off once I take it out of the printer with little residue. I use the same “sticky” paper for several sheets of the tissue paper and fabric. I also found “linen” for ink jets on Amazon to print on which is so exciting. I love the way the rice paper looks in journals as a page. Although not completely transparent it still looks fabulous on the other side. And yes, agree, I find rice paper such a gorgeous affect when using for decoupage and on the mixed media I’ve tried. When I use fabric I typically use a medium weight cotton. Thank you for sharing. I’ve got to search for the rice paper for inkjet. Your videos are so amazingly organized and helpful. I’ve got much to learn. Many blessings. 💜
This is a perfect tutorial to keep & refer to, and very enjoyable to watch, thank you. Having this comparison between 3 different papers on one video is invaluable. The tissue paper looks like the fussiest paper to print on but the lovely transparent results are gorgeous & perfect for what I want to do with them. I do hope my printer behaves as it would save a bundle on the cost of buying pre-printed papers compared to printer ink.
I’ve never heard of printing on tissue paper! It actually worked for me better than vellumI can’t get vellum to print without major smearing. I finally bought some pre-printed vellum to use until I get the motivation to try it again. But the tissue paper turned out great! Thank you!
@@BRebornArtHealing I have an Epson ET-2760. I can’t find what settings to use. Photo on glossy? On semi-glossy? Regular setting, not photo? Regular quality or best quality?

@@mariarapp3090 I also don't attach the vellum to anything. I just make sure I have some paper, a handful in the feed tray behind the vellum. It feeds through beautifully 🙂

Thank you for the tutorial! I will have to get rice paper. I use a rotary cutter to cut my tissue paper. I run a thin line of art glitter glue on the top and sometimes the bottom edge of my copy paper. It holds tissue paper well and I don't lose any parts of my image.
This was great. I attempted to print on vellum once and my printer did not like it so now I have new method to try. I will have to be brave and then try tissue paper because it looks so pretty!
Thank you for showing how to do this, Cara. I've often wondered how this was done, as my printer doesn't like to print on thin paper. I have some vellum I'm going to give this a try on.
I love this video. Thank you! I don't see the rice paper listed under your video?? I will look on Amazon where you said you purchased it and see if I can find it. If you see this comment can you help me out and share what the brand name is of that rice paper? And where do you buy the tissue paper? Is it sold in 8.5"x11" sizes? Thanks again!!!!

Great information. I like that there are occasional hiccups as when I get them in practice I won’t think it’s because it’s not for me. Thank you for sharing.
Great demo - TY! I too, have had success printing on vellum, rice, & tissue paper - but I have an Epson am am not happy with the color output (even after cleaning the print heads many times). How do you seal your ink to keep it from running/smearing on your projects? I use Mod Podge Ultra spray - it's non-aerosol & easy & convenient.
I have never had trouble when printing on vellum or rice paper. I have an inkjet. I have had trouble with regular paper from time to time, smearing. I try to zap those papers with my heat tool before using. I love the idea of a spray mod podge 💛
I just sent the rice paper and vellum through the printer as i would any paper (attached to nothing) - I did attach the tissue paper to a regular sheet of copy paper with matte scotch tape. @@vintagetochic
Hi. Are you using cardstock or copy paper? I know you said copy paper but it looks and sounds like card stock so just want to double check. Thanks! Awesome technique and I want to try it.
Thank you so much! My copy paper is 20lb paper so that's why I was confused as mine was a lot more flimsy than yours. That explains it and thanks for the quick reply! i love your demonstration
I usually just heat set with my heat tool. I use them mostly in mixed media so I don't mind if they bleed a little. When I print straight on vellum or tracing paper, it is used as a page in my journals. The vellum only needs a few minutes to dry. I hope that answers your question.

Hmm. Interesting and thanks for showing us how to do this cool printing. But when you said on the rice paper it didn't matter which side you put in your printer, I thought it did cause you glued it to a sheet of copy paper. Right? Confused
I am able to put my rice paper right in my printer 🙂 don't have to glue or tape it. Just ensure you have copy paper behind it if your printer is a top load like mine. I have never noticed a difference between them sides of the rice paper and haven't paid attention to which side I am printing on. The vellum also doesn't have to be taped on. Just feed it in with several papers behind it. This is my experience on my printer though 💛 hope that helps.
I use an inkjet printer. I had a different printer at the time of this video. It was a back/top loading feed tray. I haven't tried it on my new printer which has the feed tray below. I do get some bleeding, but often I can just hit it with my heat tool and minimize that. I hope that answers your question ♥️ Happy Thanksgiving ♥️
