I too am a card maker and I’m watching you and I have separated a whole stack of napkins in preparation for the arrival of my freezer paper. They will be happy when I get back in the card exchange. Thank you!!! I like making the fabric paper too, so I might tear my muslin smaller. I would just make it like a postcard so it wouldn’t be so thick and you just sign the back. Or something like that. I really like your site ❤😊
I found this technique a few months ago and I am a card maker too. Looking at your projects gives me more ideas. I’ve been making crinkled bias tape in various colors dying it with my icing food colors and water. I think I will try that for tinting the glue. I used to decorate cakes and I have a dozen different colors.
This is so cool Karen! Thank you for doing this video and showing how “not difficult” it is. I’ve always wanted to try making a napkin card and now I think I can do it. I’ve got that Trinity tree stencil too and I love it. Gonna hunt down some pretty napkins now! ♥️♥️
Love your videos. Have watched multiple times so I can be successful doing this technique. My only problem has been glitter that flakes off once the napkin is dry. Can I add the glitter to the glue as well and do you think that will solve the problem? I was thinking that the glitter would clump if I put in the glue. Thanks for all your instructions. Really helps.
Thanks for your kind words. I would give it a try- I found that the glitter kind of disappeared mixed in the glue, but some would show I would think. I mostly used glass glitter so that is a little chunkier already.
Thanks for your input. Much appreciated. It's always good to listen to those who know what they're doing. I do have some German glass glitter I'll try. 1 more question. I have chopped and dried rose petals I want to add. Should I put in glue also or maybe stick those on once the glue mixture has been applied to the napkin? Have you used dried flowers before? They were in Xmas table arrangement and I let them dry on their own. Then chopped the petals up so I could use when I make rice paper. Thanks again. Love how you create these cards using rice paper. Do you have any good ideas for book marks or should I make them similary to tags?
@@jazz901 - I haven't tried dried flowers but I bet they would be pretty. I guess I would try first sticking them on after the glue mixture is applied as they would probably disappear in the mixture? I have not made book marks but they are very similar to tags so I think that would work? I usually start with a Pinterest and/or TH-cam search when trying something the first time to see what others have come up with for tips.
Thanks for your reply. I agree that the petals might disappear in a glue mixture. I'll check youtube but I was so satisified with your organized instructions and your beautiful cards, I thought I'd check with you first. I'll let you know how the rose pettals turn out when completed.
I love doing this technique but I do have a problem that there are some white glue spots when finished drying. Any suggestions on how to avoid white spots?
After watching your previous video I shared this technique with our church stamping group and they liked it. Thanks for these Christmas ideas.
I love this idea. I have used napkin frequently, but not with the rice paper technique.
These cards ate Beautiful. Love the napkin.
