I wasn’t even alive when they made “three cheers to disappointment” I’m so glad there’s a comment from 3 weeks ago, let alone you played with the band themselves. I just recently got into their music but it’s sad to see I’m like the only one who listens to them. That’s really freaking cool that your here dude
I heard this song something like 10 years ago, when I was 13 I think. I play the drums and I had joined a punk band a few months before hearing this. The guitarists were in their 20s, the bassist was about 18 or so and I was getting a lift of my mom to go to our first gig at some toilet far from my home town. I had ordered ASOBs discography and brought it with me to show my band........ I get my drums unpacked and mom leaves. The other band members are taking me home after the gig..... the promoters had fucked up and put us together on a card with a load of screamo/metal bands. I remember walking into this place surrounded by 16 year olds in their thigh high leather strapped platform boots, eye liner on guys, bleached black hair... I was wearing a shirt... tie... jeans and checkered stuff, hat turned slightly to the side ... I remember going into this venue when Avenged Sevenfold had just come on as background music and seeing these older kids going absolutely crazy; nearly half of them were smoking outside but the place was still packed, I went to the toilet and they were doing some hard drugs in there too and I didn't feel comfortable at all. Finally, my band shows up and pull up right next to the door to unload; when that's done I tell them to play this CD from their car, the guitarist puts it on full blast and we start dancing on top of the car hahaha these emo kids looked like they were going to kill us... by the time we got on stage I was drunk as shit since the band had been buying me shots, some Avril Lavinge looking girl had been flirting with me and I was just like a rabbit in headlights... the singer screams into the mic "WHO's READY FOR SOME PUNKkkkkkk!!!" ... and all you hear are the crickets chirp back......... I still play in bands but for me this track was a reminder that there are healthy ways to express yourself and be in control... I'm not sure of a strong endine for this long comment so erm: dicks out for Harambe. Dan was here 2k16.
@@classicpinball9873 as expected. Crickets. We were pretty crap though in hindsight but hey.... I had a blast and I still love ASOB. Should probably mention that when I was 13 .. @MissIzzzyB Shit I can remember the time's I had with a friend and a Less than Jake song that always makes me think of him, peace to you and your lost one and remember they want you to rock out as hard as you can!!!! Everytime I think of him I know he would want me to be happy and rocking!!
i heard asob freshman year and they’ll always remind me of walking to or home from school, good times regardless. My sister and I would always play this video on the computer while we’d do hw. It was always a mood booster.
i cant find a hard copy of these guys anyway, all i can find is mp3s or itunes, same with a band called 'we are the union' can anyone help!!!! nothing on amazon
Their hard copies are incredibly rare and valuable. I found someone willing to sell something to me once and it was going to be over $100. I was also going to have to have it shipped across the world. All of their stuff is free from quoteunquoterecords dot com though.
Cheers Daniel Spiegelman I'll check it out. Do you know of a band called 'We Are The Union'? Same thing, I can't find any hard copies either, would love to get my hands on one of them as well.
@radicalaceshasbrin I disagree. I understand what you're saying, but this is punk. It is most definitely not mainstream punk, and by this I don't mean popular, but rather traditional punk or how most punk sounds, but it is still punk. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what ASOB would be put under (and BTMI! is ten times more difficult) but I think you would be hard-pressed to find another band who embodies so many of the ideologies that punk holds dear. It's still fast, high energy punk music.
I used to be in a Ska band called Last One Left and we played a few shows with ASOB. Those were the days.

Three Cheers has some awesome songs on it. This one, Rocketrocketrocketship, Kill the President and 1-800-ALARM-ME are great songs.
Those "ha ha ha"s in the intro remind me of the way dude from Op Ivy used to sing...and maybe a particular song of theirs. Anybody got any ideas?
"Bankshot" and/or "Artificial Life"

if you are referring to their "dancing" yes it is
