Everyone had a chair like this back in the 60's and 70's. My dad did. The good furniture I was not allowed to be on. It was for grownup's only. Keep up the good video's. I enjoy all of your stuff.
Happy 43rd Carl! I drive 2 hours to work on Wednesdays and Thursdays and I can’t tell you how much I look forward to the coffee with Carl episodes. Been here since day 1! Keep em comin my brother in leather🤘🏻
G’morning Carl!!! Happy birthday!! Just turned 41 myself last month. First off, this is your channel. Produce the content that you want to make and that makes you happy! Your authenticity and approachability is what draws me to your channel. Grain of salt time… I feel there’s a bit too much crossover between your channels’ content. I love the beginning of Coffee With Carl because it feels like chattin with the guys before you clock in. Standing around, hackin a dart, drinking your coffee, and shooting the shit. Then you get into the products which feels a lot like your regular Carl Murawski channel. My advice (GOS, do what you want) and preference would be for the Coffee With Carl channel to focus more on topics of discussion that are close to your heart or interesting and less so about specific products. Eg. Life in the trades, men’s health, what makes a great sandwich, upcoming collabs and the process involved, being a dad, etc etc. Also, this is the channel for cool interviews! Then have the product stuff of the Carl Murawski channel. There’s definitely room in the product test community for another channel dedicated specifically to that. Do a product test whenever you find the time and interest. If you focus on making the tests legit, the gear nerds will watch and you will gain a following for being legit. A great example of this is Steve1989MREinfo. Dude reviews Meals Ready to Eat from vintage WW1 rations to brand new, and from all over the world too. He took a 3 year hiatus and then came back just recently and it was like he never left. His content was legit and honest and his community supported that. You have the same. Make videos when you want to about whatever you want, we’re here for it. Thank you for all that you do. Keep being the inspiration that you are!
I appreciate the thoughtful feedback! I'm still finding my groove with this channel, and I think the overarching idea is anything which doesnt really fit on my main channel. Some of these products are cool but only really need a sentence or two. Someday I'd love to do this series live to actually have a back-and-forth conversation with you all.
I think you’re spot on with the first comments on viewer preferences -most of your regular viewers are folks who enjoy mid-to-high-end heritage workwear. Chances are, we have some brand loyalty that affects our overall interests/viewing choices. Personally, I’m a BraveStar fan for jeans, and my go to workwear comes from Duluth. I’ve tried different brands over the years, and these just work for me. Practical-use, comparison videos are most useful to those guys who’re just getting started on refining their workwear. Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday man!! And keep up the format with all the asides! Absolutely love this channel and opportunity to grow is actual friendship just like we would if we were having coffee together for reals. I watch these making breakfast for kids in the morning and just make the whole process so much more enjoyable :)
Happy Late Birthday Carl, I hope all is well. Always look forward to your videos, and seeing what's new and exciting. Have a great week brother. Keep up the great work. God Bless you and yours.
Happy birthday Carl! I have been eyeing up the Naked & Famous Sky Blues... I feel like they'd really get some nice fades. Anyway, thanks for making these videos :)
Not sure where you find the time, but I love receiving the mailer with the content and links. It’s a perfect way to follow up after I watch the episode. Plus it also reminds me that the episode has posted if I’m busy and forget.
Love seeing Skinner getting some love. May be worth mentioning that some of their pieces include lifetime repairs. The work pants for instance. That makes them a great deal in my book! Only nit pick and it's probably specific to my weird body shape but the double knees don't cover me knees when I kneel *shrug*
@@CoffeeWithCarl1 Pants are definitely more slim than say Carhart. The "heritage jacket" is roomier/boxier than say a Rogue Territory or the Satchel and Page Montgomery, but it has high arm holes similar to the Montgomery. So long answer short, they're relatively slim.
I just received custom made Skinner 17oz Work Cargo jeans and a Short sleeve Sashiko cream colored shirt. Price and craftsmanship are super! Both are great, but the shirt really stands out especially for this time of year. Don’t be in a hurry to receive them. Took 2 to 3 months 😅.
@@CoffeeWithCarl1 I’m 6’ 2” at 195lbs. The shirt is a large, fabric is 12oz and amazing fit and comfort. It’s even cool here in Florida as things are warming up. At 17oz the jeans are a little warm. I had the panel pockets made a little larger to accommodate my stupid large phone. The jeans are a little stiff and need to break in, I feel like Iron Man wearing them lol! Overall I’m super happy with both. Top quality! I’ve never had a shirt this Nice and fit is perfect! I purchased through @heritagequalitygoods. PS. I also ordered Grease Point Indigo Sashiko Cargo pants. Highly anticipated! Thanks Carl for your great content!
That's funny cause I just watched the entire video of the work pants torture test yesterday for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. I think it was connected to one of the shorts you had . i just clicked on it and watched it. I found it very interesting, being a working man myself. I tend to wear 100% cotton as often as possible, but especially when welding. It's naturally not as flammable and won't melt. With welding spatter, it will make holes, but not send you up in flames. During the winter, I was in 22oz denim, so that was pretty protective as a sheetmetal worker.
I absolutely agree with your take on the content and the different groups in your audience. I think the objective testing is definitely interesting and worthwhile. My guess as to why it didn't perform as expected is that most of your core audience is more the type that is interested in the high quality heritage style without necessarily having the absolute highest performance demands. But those people are also out there (probably working and not able to watch the video right away 😂). Most important thing is talking about what you like and staying authentic otherwise you'll lose interest and the audience will notice. Love your work! Greetings from Germany 👍
I very much appreciate the Project Farm style videos. It's great to inject some objective data into an industry that thrives on embellished marketing verbiage. I also fear it would lead me to spend more money - I have just about every power tool that Milwaukee has made thanks to PF.
Happy birthday 🎂 Carl! We are the same age, you wear it much better 😂. I love your inside baseball about TH-cam. I hope you can work out a meetup one day that would be a really cool crowd to be around. Thanks for the interesting and intellectual conversation with my coffee as always. ✌️
12:37 3sixteen makes all their shirts in India, but they have complete oversight of their fabrics and they do what Japanese denim companies do with denim, but with their shirts too. What usually happens is companies only develop their own denim and buy whatever fabrics are available and something they like. So what happens is you see a bunch of companies releasing what appears to be the same shirts cause its the same fabrics. Anyway I support what 3sixteen is doing and recently purchased one of their slub flannels in a lighter purple color when I stopped by James Dant in Indy.
Hey Carl! In regards to the lukewarm response to your workpant comparison.... have you thought about conducting a pole to see what your viewers are into? (if you have and I missed it... my bad) I'd be curious to know how many are following for the durabe fashion side of things vs the practical workwear side of things. Also, Happy Birthday!
Hey Carl, Since you have had your Free Note Cloth RJ-2 for a full season, what is your opinion. I'm undecided between the Iron Heart or Free Note RJ-2 Deck Jackets. Also, I remember watching Archie Bunkers show in the 70's.
Been a Primus fan ever since I got Sailing the Seas of Cheese on cassette in my stocking one Xmas years back. If you want a more stripped down experience, check out Les Claypool's Duo De Twang, if you haven't already.

What about a meetup at the stitchdown bootcamp? The communities probably overlap a good bit and I KNOW people are gunna be interested in meeting you and each other in person.
Where are you sending stuff to get darned? I’ve got some jeans that need some darning on the cuffs. If you ever get out to the Vernon rails to trails I might see you out there! I run there a few times a week
