    As someone who is too deep into the knife world it is fun to see you getting into it. Ben who started Knafs is a great guy and is build a genuinely fun knife brand.

    Thats the best way to do the Viberg info, just add a disclosure at the start and try your best to remember.

    I have been trying buy fewer things. It is kind of hard to break the habits. Watching this gives me a fix so I don't feel the need to buy anything. Winter is a little harder though. Thanks for helping me to make a change.😊
    BTW, Heddels seems to have the slanted pictures issue on that T shirt page. Haha.

    I considered Viberg, but my last two boot purchases were a White’s MP Sherman, and a John Lofgren Combat Boot. Between those, two pairs of Wesco’s, several Red Wings, and a Goodyear welted Doc Marten Oxford, I’m reaching the end of boot purchases. I literally could go the rest of my life without needing any new shoes or boots, with a resole or two. I do love seeing all the new stuff that comes out, and Coffee With Carl has become part of my early morning Wednesday routine!

      @jacobroberts2764 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've been looking really hard at getting a pair of MP Sherman's. What has your experience with yours been?

    • @enjoybendlife
      @enjoybendlife 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jacobroberts2764 I have the same pair that Carl owns, and they have exceeded my expectations. To accommodate the last of that boot, I went down a size and up to an E last, and it worked out great. @Bootlosophy on TH-cam did a great job talking about the different lasts, and White was very helpful in making the final decision. I ordered my John Lofgren boots through Standard and Strange and received 20% off as a new shopper there, which brought the price down in line with the MP Sherman. However, they are very different boots. I don't thrash my MP Shermans, but they feel like a nice work boot, but nowhere near as burly as my Wesco's. While the Lofgren's are certainly well built, they are a bit more precious, and in black, I keep them clean and nice for a dressier vibe. I have Red Wing Iron Rangers that fill the gap if I want a boot I don't mind getting dirty, but when I don't want to wear a burly PNW boot.

      But you will eventually get a pair of vibergs, believe me 🤣

    • @enjoybendlife
      @enjoybendlife 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@CarlosValentor , possibly. Never say never! But despite their great quality and reputation, the Viberg line doesn't do it for me at the moment. I already have way too many boots in rotation, and the splurge on the Lofgrens filled one of the last gaps in my boot lineup.

    Thank you Carl.
    Ben Peterson from Knafs is absolutely charming and fun on video and you owe it to yourself to look him up. Videos he shot with Zack in the Wild are especially good. Even the origin of the name "Knafs" is fun.
    MMMM...Pepe's fresh tomato pie is coming into season soon.
    Stay cool out there this week. Gunna be rough.

    You may have watched Cigar Obsession on TH-cam. He was probably the most popular cigar channel and he shut it down a few years ago due to all the bs.
    Oh, and it will be a cold day in hell when I buy a terry cloth shirt! 😁

    I like those Heddels teamster tees. I definitely agree with their description on them. Only complaints are that the neck is a little loose and the tag is enormous which is annoying. But really solid tees IMO

    big fan of s35vn, most of my EDCs are S30 or 154 type steels. That knafs knife looks really cool might be a good replacement for my griptilian when its done living. enjoyed the Jim green interview too

    Viberg used to be priced properly, but with the rising popularity of cheaper alternatives (Grant Stone, Oak Street Bootmakers, etc.), they do come off as too expensive. However, I love my pair of Viberg service boots in sage horsehide. They are fairly light, comfortable all day, and they work in a ton of different settings.

    Not sure if this would work with the actual footage but tons of band/music interviews have a person asking the questions, but the interviewer is edited out and the questions are just put on the screen in caption form.

    Looked up The Boot Guy recently, looks like he quit making videos, found his channel about the same time I found yours, around 5 or 6 years ago when I was looking into getting some RW Iron Rangers.

    It's great to see someone in the heritage clothing world finding good knife brands like Knafs - having come from the knife collecting hobby first, seeing people finding brands like James Brand instead of the wealth of other great knife companies out there makes me sad. Benchmade might be the Viberg of knives, incredibly expensive with competitors who do the same thing better for less, but with a die-hard group of fans who will still pay for it.

    I am a Teamster. I can tell you where the name comes from. It refers to the two man teams that first did horse carriage deliveries and then railroad teams that kept engines going. They almost always were a two man sometimes more, well teams ha. Which is still the traditional demographic the Teamsters represent. Their biggest contracts are with UPS. Tons of other transportation, construction, road crews etc…I am actually
    In none of those as unions have had to diversity as traditional markets have changed. But that’s the history.

    The guy that forgot to secure the gate on his dump truck might not have received any legal punishment but he may have been fitted for a custom pair of cement shoes. Calm down, it’s a joke. But really, that dudes probably been relocated to a new location. Like the bottom of the Hudson. Relax it’s just another joke. Have a great week Carl.

    Ill say something controversial to garner some feedback. Honest question. When i think 'union made' i dont think high quality. I think of a production environmemt that is void of meritocracy. I have NOT worked in a union environment.

    Yeah that’s a perfect example as to why unions are horrible. I understand why they came to be but with the labor laws we have now unions are just gangs. Look at what the teachers union has done to our schools.

    Ben is a nice guy, from what i hear his knife is good, it's unfortunate it's made in communist China,where workers have no rights, and everything that goes with that, I'm not a USA guy only, just anti-communist,theres plenty of other country's with reasonable manufacturing costs that treat their workforce properly,so many times we almost dont have a easy choice to not buy china made,pocket knives are abundant from usa and other country's a re readily available
