  • Follow Ralph, singer & songwriter, as she takes you through the many places in Toronto that have inspired her to become the artist she is today. Learn how Toronto has become Canada's music hub.
We spent a day with Ralph, a Toronto-based singer & songwriter, as she takes us through her most inspirational locations in the city.
She takes us to one of her favourite thrift shops in the city, Public Butter, where you can find unique, one-off designs that you can’t just get anywhere.
We followed Ralph to the Trinity Bellwoods Park where she loves to relax and pull inspiration for her songwriting. We happened to come across a Toronto legend, the Albino Squirrel!
Ralph ended her day with a show at Gladstone Hotel, a boutique art hotel known for being a cultural hub and one of Toronto’s oldest establishments. Here, she performed for a fundraiser called Raise Your Voice, an event promoting speaking up about with sexual assault and violence against women.
Toronto has become a place to watch for up and coming artists in Canada's music scene.

Please do! We are in desperate need of more artists to liven it up especially during the pandemic. Now is the time! Rents have gone down now during the pandemic, I would say get a job first in the city, live with roommates to help with rent and try to network. There is a lot of new supports coming for the music scene here with new music hubs and venues. Where are you from?

Have music and art not be your main source of income and do things that regardless of their level of success brings you joy and fulfilment

Thrifting is also such a big part of Toronto art scene too but would have liked to see the perspective of other creatives

The last golden age of Toronto music was between 2005 and 2010. Todays music scene doesn't even compare. Back then there were 8 or 9 music venues on Augusta (Kensington Market) alone
