I absolutely love timeloop movies. groundhog day type shit. I just like theorizing how they got there and how they can escape. I also kinda love how it starts off with a simple premise of timeloops and then into souls trapped in a simulation
Ooooh another spooky organization using a hub world and black figures to spy on players and has somehow trapped them inside of Minecraft! Though, I will give it this, the idea of a time loop is interesting. But I thought that the plot was that these players were apart of some project to develop AI by taking snapshots of actual players gameplay and running them over and over again to gather date for their AI, and this AI went haywire and gained sentience.
It had such a strong start, I was instantly hooked with the premise, I hadn't seen anything like it in these Minecraft ARGs/Stories... and then of course it had to be about goofy experiments and "them" watching you from the shadows. Yawn. I'm still halfway through, so it still could improve. Anyways, I really like how you cover these, RGN. You're my favorite youtuber for the Minecraft misteries and stuff.
@@WhenIBlip Exactly. I got actual goosebumps when he realized his friend wasn't replying to him in real time, but was instead repeating his side of the conversation from moments before. Man it was awesome, and they ruined it. Should've stayed simple, sometimes less is more. Info dumps are not interesting.
It could've used less of that, and more of the eldritch ideas in the first half, a minecraft player, for whatever reason, who is being trapped in a loop of time, by something far beyond them, something they'll never understand, and the entire series chronicles their attempts to escape this alternate reality they are trapped in, haunted by past versions of themself, future versions of themself, past people they know, future people they know, and everything else, the loop not just affecting minecraft, but also the real world, the same day repeating over and over, in and out of minecraft.
Although I like the later half of the story I agree. The beginning had a completely different feel to it than the rest of the series. And the story deviated from Minecraft too much. It got too complex and too unrealistic to have the same creepiness factor to it
I think I recognize the style of skins in the exec players, including the names and the whole facility thing. I can’t put my finger on the channel name, but I remember an old series that ended with a lot of people disappointed in the ending of the story. People said it went away from what they thought the original plot was, I remember one comment saying “they fnaf’ed it” I think it was a video on your channel titled “strange sightings on alpha Minecraft channel” but I’m not sure. I think the creators are trying to make a comeback, and I think they’re doing better if that’s the case! Even if not, they’re still doing good! A little bit more specific on why I think this: if I’m remembering right, the black on white and white on black skins with patterns on the faces, cryptic names, and the crosshairs designs are quite similar from these exec characters to the higher-being-esk characters from the series I’m thinking of are VERY similar. I even think one of them is exactly the same as one of the higher beings, a star looking white pattern on the face of one, and the crosshair being the same star. The facility as I call it, with all the experiment rooms and whatnot, as well as the terminals, remind me of the series I’m thinking of. In the series I t was some type of moon base related facility, a battle between entities and higher beings over something to do with the moon and the world I think. People were upset that it kind of just descended into madness and they felt the storyline was lost, as if they stopped going by a script, and just rushed it.
I suffer from mild schizophrenia, the first 3 minutes destroyed me, I have this nauseous gut feeling and strange headache. I can't continue watching, the video feels too real for me Sometimes I feel like that too
I haven't finished watching it but so far (11 minutes in) I do partially wonder if the series is meant to represent the kind of paranoia and delusions seen in psychosis
I inherited strong schizophrenia, so I can imagine how you feel. Luckily, my symptoms are extremely mild. Doesn't mean it's easy because the essential core of this illness, the singular contradicting personality, is strong as heck, but I can watch this video without problems. Though I have to admit, I am able to control it (most of the time) and sometimes even use it for my benefit these days. However, I know what you mean. This uneasy feeling and the part of your personality that asks the question: "What if it's real? What if something like this happens to me?"
Me again, do not watch this video. If this, let's call it "fictional reality symptom," is as strong as you said. If the first three minutes made you uncomfortable, you would probably drown in anxiety a bit later because (spoiler alert) headaches are mentioned.
13:26 "The fact you can even talk to me right now fathoms me." This sentence does not make sense at all. To fathom means to understand, so "unfathomable" means "not understandable." So... exec_03 is understood by the fact that SandY can talk? How can the concept of a fact understand anything? Concepts can't be sapient. A sentence that would have made more sense would have been "I can't fathom how you can even talk to me right now."
Yeah there are many situations in this arg where it just feels extremely cliché or corny ngl. The dialogue is so unnatural for any minecraft player or person really, even the diary entries are. Liked it in some parts but overall its meh.
@@acidicbarkbeast that's why stuff like this upsets me, when people use a word incorrectly then people also learn the word incorrectly if it's their first time reading/hearing it, and un-learning is way harder than learning
When i was a kid, i went with my mother to camping site, and i met there a kid about my age, who knew alot of internet horror stories of that time (it was ≈2013, i think). He was telling me stories about SCP and creepypasta that he knew, and i replied with horror stories i knew. But he soon overwhelmed me with his knowledge, and to not fall back, i made up Minecraft horror story. It said that deep under the world there is horrible monster locked up by Notch and his team. They made it as the final boss for the game, but thing became so powerful, that they failed to defeat it with their whole dev team. Because of that, monster became even stronger, and was threatening to escape from the Minecraft and break into our world, so devs had to stop it at any cost. They used their powers to craft the most powerful items they could, and fought the thing once again... and failed. When situation became desperate, they came up with the plan to lock the monster forever. Thousands of blocks below the world, devs build gaint bedrock prison, each wall was over 100 blocks thick, with ability to almost instantly regenerate destroyed blocks. And even if this monster would escape, it still would neet to travel thousands of blocks in the instakill field untill it can reach surface. Devs successfully lured the monster into prison, but Herobrine, Notch's brother, was not able to escape from it in time, and other devs had to lock him in there with the monster, trapping him forever to save our world. And since then, nobody in Mojang speaks about this accident, trying to hide monster and sacrifice they made to stop it. But players can still find weapons and armor from that day, scattered around the world. And they better do so, because with each year in custody monster grow stronger and stronger, digging deeper and deeper into bedrock walls, getting closer to its inevitable escape.... I remember this story because after watching all this Minecraft ARGs it looks like 11yo me was not that far from what i see now
The idea of a Minecraft player that’s stuck in a loop where changes ranges from small or major happen is a unique idea of Minecraft Arg series ngl wish it stayed that and didn’t used the same tiring tropes we seen time and time again
It's a cool concept, but that doesn't mean you can make something longer than like 20 minutes out of it. If you want to make a story, you need a reason for what's happening and you need to tie it all in at the end. A concept simply doesn't do that
this is so good it even has other perspectives and it gives me the feeling where the exec people are the gods and sandY is just a little ant being controlled 48:55 is so good and i wonder how much bloopers were there when making this arg
When you bought up the journels of Andrew being unwell, it reminded me of the official Minecraft Novel “The Crash”, which follows the story of a girl getting admitted to hospital after her boyfriend crashed the car they were in. The hospital has a Minecraft server that patients can play through virtual reality. It is left unclear whether the boyfriend died during the crash until the very end. Throughout the story, the main character joins 3-4 other players in the hospital, during this time she keeps seeing a figure using the Minecraft skin her boyfriend’s Minecraft account used, and this makes her think he’s alive. Its a pretty wild story but its been a while since I’ve read it.
I really like this idea, I haven’t seen a lot of args on a type of time loop, especially in Minecraft, and that’s a shame since my favorite trope is time looping
Missing chunks is a genius way to represent the concept of reality being only what you currently see exists. In the instance of the loop, that quite literally being which chunks were rendered. I like the direction this is going!
This Arg just seems much deeper, thought-through and meaningful than other ones out there. It's not just "mysterious scary shit". The story is well built. Off to watch the second part!
Minecraft arg these days seems to change, Like i noticed in this ARG there is like less puzzle because arg's are supposed to be puzzling but this, its like more onto the story but overall, im intrigued in the arg
The loop idea sounded so interesting....aaaaaand then it turned into another developers doing experiments on players one -_- Some reason no matter how different the details of these kind of Minecraft ARGs are they all *feel* the same. I like the ones about corrupted mobs more, they at least vary in looks.
Agreed. There's now a bunch of this plot type and admittedly I haven't found it interesting or logical in their cases for it to be a Minecraft thing. Some of them gotta branch out from MC and just have the MC part as a sideshow. Too many eldritch things. Much rather things like that one with the sentient mob which reacts with emotion to the player. Forgot the name. But even simple "ghost in the machine" stories can be cool -- just not if it starts being the catalyst for a world changing event.
@@SlendHQwhat if there was a story about an alien virus who corrupts a pc with Minecraft on it and then a player logs into a world only to find out weird things happen on it without explanation ? Wouldn’t that be a great idea ?

24:30 I think the creator tried to make the "September" book in python and accidentally left a ''', which if you don't already know, is part of a multi-line comment.
"Voyeur" is also a person who watches people sexually without entering in the act. It could be a sort of joke name for the person having a hand in the loop but only watching for their entertainment.
good. yes. even though ive seen a billion of these I still like watching them. not saying this one isn't unique which it is, i want a arg where it actually tackles the question "why are so many creepy-things taking place in old Minecraft versions in so many ways?". ALSO, one more thing. i swear if this series ends where the ARG does the classic, "but then once he presses that button, everything restarted. looping the same events and failures" i will die.
What is also interesting with the loop is that is called false awaking basically when you think you are waking up, you think it's reality but it's a dream this can go on for minutes, and usually happens when you have sleep paralysis, when you see a black creatures and shadows, but to always know you are in a false awaking is seeing something change in your area, Sound familiar?

I was definitely fascinated by this and paused your video a minute or so into it to go watch the series. Parts of it were a little slow going and it definitely has the tone of somebody's first project. Definitely feels like a teenager created it. But even with the minor setbacks it has, I did watch it all until the end (or, at least, the potential end, who knows if it's the actual conclusio or not yet) and enjoyed the series. I subscribed to their channel and am interested in seeing what else they come up with over time. They seem inexperienced with some storytelling aspects, but they are amazingly talented in other aspects. And the music alone is fantastic. Looking forward to either the continuation of this project or any new projects they create in the future, that’s for sure!

Theory: the worlds represent theyre mental state Something that could prove this theory is you notice how the more self aware sandy gets the more distorted his map becomes?
I'm a big fan of this webseries. It took a lot of concepts and tropes from big webseries like mark101 (and The Lets Play Archive) and really did a nice job at executing on those ideas. I watched all of the videos (including the 3 latest ones that were uploaded during this video's editing phase), and I was a big fan the whole way through. While some of the videos may feel drawn out, I highly recommend anyone here to watch the main series directly after this video. It holds up quite nicely. Maybe you will come to a conclusion that is different as this is all story fairly ambiguous.
RGN does a pretty good job of keeping things interesting, even when I found that some of the later plot beats really didn't interest me. Wasn't all too interested in the vessel stuff and being put into a Minecraft simulation because of some unspecified disease. And yet, RGN keeps me engaged.
Mentions of gaining sentience within the first ten minutes. Instantly gives the game away. Couple that with the character typing every single thought that comes to mind in the chat even when there's nobody there to read it just makes no sense. Those are your thinks buddy, you don't need to write them out. Anyway the jig is up pretty much from the get go. In my opinion, not a very good Unfiction.
@@liminalityy_ Well obviously not but this is an unfiction and my suspension of disbelief can only be stretched so thin. The idea of a character having shocking realizations and saying them out loud is one thing, taking the time to type out those realizations to nobody is just laughable and frankly I found it cringy. As for the sentience plot, I don't think that's a bad plot idea, I just think it gives the game away far too quickly. Instead of building up intreague of what this time loop is and then dropping a bombshell about the nature of this world and the people in it, it tries to tease us with something but that tease is way too large that it just kinda spoils the whole plot. In my opinion at least.

This sounds a thousand times better.
@@user-is7xs1mr9y agreed I like this story at the end of the day but this is just better

Totally should've ended with a flash picture of a house.
No, it's just bad, it has nothing going on.
Although I like the later half of the story I agree. The beginning had a completely different feel to it than the rest of the series. And the story deviated from Minecraft too much. It got too complex and too unrealistic to have the same creepiness factor to it
Architect: "Stop watching"
RGN: "No."
Update me if you ever remember!

Sometimes I feel like that too
I haven't finished watching it but so far (11 minutes in) I do partially wonder if the series is meant to represent the kind of paranoia and delusions seen in psychosis
So THATS why your videos look strange, a mild schizophrenic

@@thrill127 I didn’t use ai
It's a cool concept, but that doesn't mean you can make something longer than like 20 minutes out of it. If you want to make a story, you need a reason for what's happening and you need to tie it all in at the end. A concept simply doesn't do that

Minecraft arg these days seems to change,
Like i noticed in this ARG there is like less puzzle because arg's are supposed to be puzzling but this, its like more onto the story but overall, im intrigued in the arg
Damn. The bingo goes hard with this one. So many tropes checked

Not everything needs to be 100% grounded in reality. Fiction like this has and always will exist
