The funny thing about pointing out how good Bruce, the singer, sounds live is that this video is from a concert almost 40 years ago, and Bruce still sounds pretty close to that good...even after a battle with throat cancer. I just saw them in Pittsburgh last December. Absolutely awesome show, and the band sounds fatter now because they added a third guitarist several years ago. If you get a chance to see them live, DO IT!

To add to the fact that he's a licensed commercial aeroplane pilot, an olympic level fencer, has a university degree in history and two honorary degrees in two different universities.
They were about to play in the netherlands but corona camcelled it unfortunately but they will be playing next year!!
When they brought Bruce and Adrian back in the year 2000, I was expecting a little more heavy stuff, like what it’s in Chemical Wedding... but I guess that weight was coming from Roy Z.... Nevertheless, Brave New World is a great album!!! And their “reunion” concert in Rock in Rio 2001 was epic!!!

Bruce Dickinson is the lead singers name. Bruce has been with them now for almost 40 years, and is still going strong. You should take about an hour or two and kick back and watch their Rockin Rio show, I don’t care which one, but you will not be sorry.

It joins two different tracks that follow each other in the album and that are linked... the passage from one to the other is simply fantastic... the first part is the grandfather telling a story to his grandson that goes into the actual song! Just fantastic... they are called Warriors Prayer and Blood of the Kings! (the sound quality on that video could be better thou)

Lead singer is Bruce Dickinson. He joined the band on their third studio album (Replacing their original studio vocalist Paul Di'Anno) and stayed with them through the majority of their career. He left for a short time to do a solo project and was replaced by Blaze Bailey for two studio albums. (Much to the consternation of many of Bruce's fans lol) He later rejoined the band and is with them to this day. Of the three vocalists he is higher pitched and more operatic in his style, as you see in this video. Paul had a lower register but was a good fit for the almost garage-band sound they had at the time. Blaze has his own midrange vocal style which works for a majority of his own works with Maiden but not so much of a good fit for the songs created while Bruce was vocalist. He got a ton of hate from many older fans and the most of them do not recognize his 2 albums as even existing. Of the three vocalists.. Bruce is my favorite... and despite that I still have to look up how to properly spell his last name :P hehe

Technically I chart things by what which member of the Big 4 you mainly come from. I would say if you compare things to AC/DC then.. well .. that's AC/DC... but the more modern version is more like Metallica. Maiden is maiden, great storytelling and instrumentation. Megadeath is technical and precise. Slayer would be raw power and technical strength. Older veterans can prescribe to the Unholy Trinity too .. in the end, it's all just great music and everybody has their own styles and desires. Respect it all :)

Few notes, you seemed to miss the lyrical content entirely. Maiden does songs about something. Yes they are talented musicians but they sing about things. This song is about the last thoughts of a dying man as he is waiting to get hung. Once you understand what happens in the song the music and Bruce’s vocals are even more powerful. Many consider this the best metal song ever. The Mount Rushmore of Metal is Sabbath, Maiden, Metallica and Judas Priest for a reason. By the way my first concert was Powerslave tour in 1985, still the best show I have ever seen, Maiden are beasts live.

No, they shouldn't call out to St. Louis. They released a live album decades ago that was recorded in California and when I saw them many years later in Pennsylvania Bruce encouraged the crowd with the phrase "Scream for me Long Beach" which was from that album and has become a sort of iconic saying for the band.

If you want to react to some more Maiden, I highly recommend anything from their Flight 666 tour video, especially "Fear of the Dark".
Some other things that I'd like to see you react to...Amon Amarth (Swedish viking metal), Austrian Death Machine (Speed metal with an Arnold Swarzenegger sounding singer), and Hatebreed (some great, motivational hardcore metal).
Hatebreed songs are usually pretty short, like most hardcore...more punch in smaller package. My favorite is "Every Lasting Scar" th-cam.com/video/Ac_5T6EBVtY/w-d-xo.html
For Amon Amarth, I'd recommend "Live Without Regret" or "A Beast Am I".

If you like Bruce’s voice I highly recommend you check out some of his solo work. You should check out The Book of Thel off of The Chemical wedding or Abduction off of Tyranny of Souls. He’s also gone be releasing a new album within the next year or so for the first time since 2005 so that’s gonna be amazing. Honestly you don’t even have to react to these songs, just enjoy these albums in your free time. You definitely won’t regret it. It’s sad that his solo work often gets overlooked

Just watched you reacting to this one “ hallowed be thy name” .. great review .. the lead singer here is Bruce Dickinson.. and this particular video is just after he joined the band in I think 1982!!He has an awesome singing voice!! I’m watching different reaction videos like yours because I wanted to see and hear different reactions from what I would call from the soundtrack of my youth!! It was the early 80’s and I was a young teenager, and this is the music that spoke to me!! And believe me , I heard a lot of negative reactions when this was all new!! So I’m very interested in hearing a different opinion of someone from a different time and place.. FYI.. the main thing I heard back then about my favorite heavy metal bands was “music by idiots for idiots !!” So I’m looking for opinions way after the fact!! If you’re looking for more songs from them to react to, I would suggest, Run to the hills.. the trooper.. if you want really high energy, I would suggest , Aces high..!!so many to choose from this band, because they learned their instruments well and their lessons from school well!! If you like the vocals try something from Dio (Black Sabbath 1979-1982, Rainbow). He's one of the best metal vocalists out there (if not the best). You can start from Heaven and hell.
Bruce Dickinson (Vocalist) can also fly any Boeing aircraft (check out flight 666 videos), authored a couple of children's books, was the 7th ranked Fencer in England, and if he's now performing brain surgery and involved in astrosphysics, should change his name to Buckaroo Banzai. His beer line is pretty good too.

Bruce Dickinson is the singer, Bassist Steve Harris is the band leader and Primary lyricist. FYI Hammersmith refers to the venue in London, It used to be called Hammersmith Odeon, it is now called Hammersmith Apollo.
Bruce Dickenson. He's arguably the greatest hard Rock/metal vocalists ever. He also a world class fencer. At one point he was rated number 3 in all of England and if not for his music commitment would have been on their Olympic team. He's also an airline pilot. In his spare time away from the band he flew a 737 and 747 for British Airways. Everything he does, he's a bad ass.
And the strangest thing here, they are so young here, like Bruce Dickinson lide singer was 24/25 here kust imagine how they sound in this time, and not just sound, whst they do with stage is crazy, epic, try to see the red and black live, or even better see Iron Maiden- Rime of the Ancient Mariner live DVD fligt 666 somewhere back in time toure, trust me on this one, is stori telling, and story is soooooo freaking crazy, out of world, just do it, trust me, and stage is like movie, when you whach that performance is like you in the movie, if you don't want to react, listen for yourself because that's something so epic that you need to see it, trust me 😀😀😉👊💪 peace and love man

And actually Iron Maiden is the mother of heavy metal. They inspired so many bands. Even James Hetfield (vocal and rhythm guitar in Metallica) says that Iron Maiden’s first three albums were really important things in his life (or something like that)
