"she definitely doesn't care if she hurts my feelings"
Poor thing 💔 the way she laughed when she said that
I recognize that coping humor anywhere
These abusive narcissistic mothers in this show are always framed and treated like "oh teehee that's just my good ol' southern Mama being stubborn as a mule"
No. They're abusive and it's genuinely sad watching how much some of these women just want their mother's support/approval
I remember when I was bending over backwards, doing anything and everything I could to earn my parents approval
I just wanted them to be proud of me
I just wanted them to love me
    Speaking from experience
They don't change unless they want to
Nothing you do is ever enough for them
But that doesn't mean you aren't enough
    Because you are
Sorry for the random "lecture" on a yes to the dress video

It’s never going to happen, so although it hurts, you really have to realize you cannot please a narcissistic person! EVER! Learn all you can about this mental illness, so you will learn that this is not your fault!! Never was!! You will learn a new way to live with this person in your life. @@suzettekath9860 of course there are worse ways of proposing, I didn't say it was "the worst." I just thought it was not very classy.
I mean, think about "hold my beer" situations. Usually, the person left with the beer is a bystander being told to be a coaster and witness this s#!t. It is all about HIM. "Pssht! I can do better than that." The person holding the beer has nothing to do with what comes after "hold my beer."
Now, if it was a legit "there is no place to put my beer and my hands are going to be fumbling with a ring box" request, then maaaaybe he shouldn't have gotten a beer before proposing. You know, put some THOUGHT into it.

I hate that mother. She is delusional. " she put that dress on to spite me", No she put it on because that's the type of dress she wants and she loves. That mother reminds me of my grandmother and I had to cut my grandmother on my life because of how she was acting. I'm praying for that girl

I think I get what Lori was going for. The mom was pleased, but the bride's emotional damage was not healed. The bride needed to be able to tell her mother that SHE wanted THIS dress and that her opinion is VALID.

Man, all the other dresses looked better. Sad she wasn't supported in any of them. "I knew this was my dress." It's sad to see her settle because her mom is so opinionated.

Did the mom end up on TLC? With her own reality show? 600...?

I'm interested that Mum thinks she can define an ugly dress. Did she look at her own outfit in the mirror that day....?

Nothing like a huge mother using her daughter to feel good. Now everyone sees what she really is. A horror through and thought!

20 years old is WAY too young to be getting married. She's still a child at that age.
