@@TheBengalDragon I never really found her misunderstood. seems like a nice girl with a good heart who got caught up in an apocalypse. why do you feel that way?
@@pauls6416 Thank you very much for the reply. Much appreciated. I believe she is misunderstood because Claire Redfield is THE ONLY recurring female protagonist in gaming that I have seen, who started a game mentally super strong, and ended the game mentally BROKEN (the game is Code Veronica X). And in each and every canonical game or CG movie Claire appearence after CVX, there are references to "the effect of losing Steve on Claire's psyche" that ONLY makes sense to Claire. And they are in a way that tell you that Claire NEVER came to terms with Steve's death, and she reacts this way ONLY to Steve's death. This is as latest as Resident Evil death island, where even after SEVENTEEN YEARS Claire shows that she did not come to terms with Steve's death... she is supressing the memory. My friend, I don't know how much you can see at the moment, but if you can see a little, I STRONGLY urge you to watch my videos on Claire Redfield, especially my Degeneration review... Degeneration was... difficult to watch... and I am sure, you will never look at Claire the same way again. FYI, SD Perry's novels, albeit good, are not canonical. Let me know what you think.
@@nick0tripp312 Thanks for the respnose. I request you to watch my video: "The Original Claire Redfield story Everyone Missed" and I am sure, with an open mind, you will never perceive Claire Redfield the same way again.
Remember listening to this book being read by you like 4-5 years ago and it was never finished being read. Pleasant surprise that i had an urge to look this up, and you've completed it. Thanks my man, will definitely make the rest of this shift bearable!
Cool, just finished nemesis a few weeks back. Was watching an iceberg about RE earlier and saw this mentioned, decided I'd look to see if it was uploaded and here it is. Thanks so much
Another thing that's missing... Here's what happened in CVX. ++++++++ "Ah... it's finally over" Claire looked at Steve and in a typical Japanese fashion, tilted her head and smiled. Steve smiled back, then turned away to face forward "Claire... I'm sorry. I know I caused a lot of trouble for you." By this time, Claire has walked up to Steve on his right. She put her left hand on Steve's right shoulder lightly. "No it's okay. It was hard for both of us." She assured. "Well I really hope, you find your brother. I... know what its like to be... alone." Steve said in a voice filled with sorrow, and a bit of remorse for hid bad behavior to Claire, which he knew she didn't deserve. With an empathetic sensation and look, Claire said. "Oh Steve..." in her baby voice, also something seen done by Japanese women as a sign of affection. ++++++++ This once again, is very important for building up the relationship between Claire and Steve. Remember, in the original, Claire is not romantically involved with anyone, not even in college.
First of all, thanks for the audiobook. Finally got to end it. However, considering that on TH-cam, it seems I have done more unique discoveries on OG Claire Redfield than anyone else, I have something to say. This was probably inspired by CV and not CVX. Wesker ran away from Alexia in CV, but fought back in CVX. Wesker ran away in this book (non canonical book). Also, Wesker didn't confront Chriswhilst having Claire captive, informing both of them that He had retrieved Steve's corpse and will do horrible things to it (and also implying that Steve wasn't dead, he was just unconscious, ceasing to breathe, as you see from time to time). Although it's a good non canonical take on CV, here's what REALLY happened to Claire, as confirmed by Degeneration, Infinite Darkness, Revelations 2 and Death Island. Claire ended up being the ONLY ONE who didn't join BSAA or STRATCOM. In fact, Claire LITERALLY started to go insane from depression. S D Perry mentioned "hallucination". Claire LITERALLY had a hallucination in Degeneration, SEVEN YEARS after Steve died, and he knew Steve just for one day. It seems that the rest of her life, became a bit of an act of redemption for her failure to protect Steve. In the 17 years at least that followed, Claire NEVER spoke of Steve to anyone (except Chris and possibly her mental therapist) and to this day, Claire NEVER said his name again in her life, not because she forgot about him. In fact, Claire remembers down to EVERY WORD he said, so much so that the next time she "finds" a gun in a Biohazard, the FIRST THING she does is quote Steve word for word. The first thing being in a biohazard does, is remind her of Steve. Claire cannot say his name, despite trying (Revelations 2) because she does not have the strength to confront her failure... Because Steve didn't know... by that point, Claire loved him too. There is overwhelming evidence for this. Let me know what you think.
A little detail that is very important. When Steve was drilling through the wall, in the game, observe Claire's tone and facial expression. She seems EXTREMELY happy... Steve made her very... happy. This is important because in every canonical Claire appearence since, Claire was NEVER this happy ever again.
I might comment multiple times on this, as this is a very long video (and I made very long Code Veronica videos myself). First, everyone needs to understand, that this is not canonical. Second, this is based on the version of the game that is not canonical (CV) and the game that is canonical is CVX. Next, in CV/CVX Steve thought Claire was a preety bum (as in, a BIMBO) at the start of the game, who is being a nuisense to him. This is especially true if you read the Japanese version of what Steve says to claire. Next, Claire and Leon have NO romantic interest in each other. in RE2, Claire was only concerned about finding Chris, protecting Sherry and escaping. In fact, in the epilogues of RE3, Leon scolds Claire to leave them alone and go look for her brother, indicating that Claire was possibly starting to piss him off. If you recall, Chris also scolds Claire in CV/CVX. This should tell you that Claire views Leon like a surrogate elder brother, nothing more. There's a lot more, but I'll be back... Yes, it's not canon, but SD Perry got one thing right. by the end, even Claire started to have feelings for Steve.
Just at the start of Chapter 10 and I realized something. in this SD perry novel, Claire thought Steve liked her. In the original, Claire had NO idea Steve caught FEELINGS feelings for her, until the very last moment of his life. The BIGGEST evidence of this is how Claire reacts to Steve's love confession, along with how Claire reacts the 1st time she saw him die, compared to the 2nd time she saw him die. Still, Claire is growing in her own attraction towards Steve, and that's one thing consistant in the original and this SD perry novel, despite the fact that in the original Claire never has any romantic feelings for Leon ever.
Another thing that was important that was removed in this novel was the fact that when Claire finally confronts Alfred Alexia, Steve barges in and saves Claire's life, even getting scraped by a bullet in the process. This is important, because if you played the game VERY CAREFULLY the game was ACTUALLY mainly about Claire and Steve's relationship, and how that ended in tragedy.
Got to the 2:59:00 mark SD Perry missed several key moments. First, in the actual game, Steve has some interactions where she insults claire, that was missing. That is VERY important for character story telling. Next, Steve makes a remark about guns, and THIRTEEN YEARS later, Clire remembers EXACTLY what he said, AND WHERE he said it, because she quotes him word for word. Please think about that. why does Claire remember that? Why does she remember EVERY WORD he said?, when he said them? Finally, Claire never faced a hunter in the original RE2 or in Code Veronica. More comments to follow.
He didnt care if it was Pussy 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I lost it!!! I'm on day 3 of my recovery from my wisdom teeth getting pulled and that part made me lose it !!!! 😂😂😂😂 I've played all these games and these audiobooks are almost like playing the game again but more real
Can I make a suggestion, lower the background audio. It drowns out your narration, so basically we can barely hear your words but all the background audio is loud. So when we turn it up to hear it makes the background audio unbearably too loud. So either turn up your vocals or lower the background sounds. Your voice audio should always be louder then all audio, if we cant hear you then there is no point of listening. I tried listening to the Nemesis audio book read by you, and gave up half way through. Same issues.
End of Chapter 11... again, slight detail missing... In the actual game, that's where you see Claire the happiest you'll ever see her in all games... and keep in mind, this was WITHOUT Chris... I'm disappointed SD Perry, although getting some of the parts right (for example, the point where claire also had feelings for Steve) missed so much from the game.
LOL, OK, the writing is starting to fall a bit apart in Antarctica chapter. How did Rockford zombies get on the Antarctic base, and they didn't see any other crashed plane? Did the zombies parachute in from the plane? lol Also, How did Steve know where the door is and where to pull Claire to, when it was pitch black? lol
Residence Of Evil will record for Code Veronica relatively soon. They recorded Resident Evil: Nemesis recently with a female narrator but the Russian and South American country accent attempts vary in degrees of success.
End of Chapter 6. I think that was some HORRIBLE writing. There was NO EMPHASIS AT ALL on Claire's thought patterns. A guy just 2 years younger to her killed his own zombie father to save her, and Claire had no thoughts about it? That was one of the most powerful moments in the actual game. The exposition by SD Perry was terrible. I'm sorry to say that.
