The pre-start and then start flow for the PT6 in the Cessna Caravan, followed by an aborted start procedure when the ITT (interturbine temperature) gauge failed to move.
He never introduced fuel to the engine. He was waiting for the ITT to drop below a specific temperature to safely introduce fuel and not have a possible hot start. There was no light off in the video
In Australia, we’re not fuckwhits. We perform items from memory using a cockpit flow, then the checklist is used only as a CHECK to verify you haven’t missed anything. Using a checklist as an “instructions” list or a “read-and-do” list is only used for training when someone is new to a particular aircraft.
I agree completely. The start procedure should be done as a flow because of time critical items such as a draining battery, aborted start due to temperature etc. Our procedures are also then a flow for the pre takeoff items, followed by a short written check list to confirm the vital items haven’t been missed.
I'm really enjoying your videos, I haven't flown a caravan for 10 years, and these videos are excellent revisions!! :-)
Thanks! I'm glad it's bringing back Caravan memories, they're a great aircraft!
Nice to see failures sometimes.
Qual estado Cidade ? K avião e Seu ? Vc e Instrutor de voo?.
damaged sensor?
Just the gauge it turned out 😄
Just to clarify, you were expecting the ITT to drop once you started. Since it did not then you had to shut down? Thanks in advance.
it does say "(almost)" in the title.

Where is your list! Doing it from memory? No no.
If you’re having to read the aborted start procedure it’s a bit late champ.
