These videos have been so helpful! I think y'all should do an updated version of your "how to setup an bioactive for leopoard geckos"! And including that full list of items used with links to your site would be saaaahweeeet. Thanks!
the update videos were removed as part of a channel revamp, were working on getting them re filmed. for supplies you can send an email to the customer service team and they can get you set up with a quote. Customercare@thebiodude.com
I absolutely love my Terra Sahara setup! My dragon is doing fantastic in it. He dug out a den and brumated for 3 months. Now that he is up,, he's more active than he ever was on the tile. The plants are fully established and growing great! I was just checking out your website yesterday to order more! Going bioactive has been an absolute joy for both Niko and myself!
Glad this was helpful! You can include basil and other edible plants into the soil to provide your Beardie options. Dubia roaches are great alternative source of protein as well.
So what your telling me is all the herbs I bought and planted in pots outside to be watered constantly in the heat I can plant right in my bearded dragon tank . Woo hoo bigger tank going in this week and will have a built in garden I'm so excited now. Thank you for the very informative video can't wait to buy more than I already have foe the new tank.
I currently have a 75 gallon enclosure for my bearded dragon, and I hope to upgrade to a 125 gallon. When I do I will surely add some more cacti, and sphaghetti agave
So glad to see the one cactus that I have not been able to find at your store. The ones here in Oregon I find all have the thorns. So glad to have learned more about the kind I can us with the Terra Sahara soil. I also find my Box turtles like to destroy plants I put in with them. LOL love them anyway. GOD BLESS 🦎💖🐢💖🐍💖
i love me some bio dude products i get my leucistic leopard gecko tomorrow and will be ordering plants could you suggest what type of gecko safe plants should i order?
We actually have plant packs on our website that you can purchase for your specific set up. You can always leave a note in your order for what animal it is for and our fulfillment specialists will choose the right plants for you. I hope this helped!
Are you going to do videos like this for all your substrate? Cuz that would actually be really awesome if you would tell everybody what plants they can put in your substrate. Your terrarina and the desert substrate and the rainforest substrate I would love to see a video even if it's like one full video with all them together but preferably just do separate videos of each substrate and what plants you can put in there. That would be awesome. Thank you! Happy Keeping!!
Prickly pear cactus is highly nutritious and completely safe to feed to a bearded dragon as long as the spines are removed and it is not given regularly. The fruit of the cactus is also edible, but you should remove the skin and seeds first.
Hey man is it all the same plants for your desert mix one on Amazon with the sand in the mix? And what type of isopods and springtails are best for that substrate with the plants from this video?
Hey! Question, I have a leopard gecko and this summer I’m doing a large bioactive setup for her, is mint safe for Leo’s as well? (Also love your setups they always amaze me)
I’m leaning towards bioactive for my new 36x18x18 terrarium. My only concern is, how does one move a bioactive setup once it’s fully set up? Wouldn’t you basically have to destroy your bioactive setup, by emptying it in a tote/ buckets?
I get all of my bio stuff from him. And my snakes do very well with the soil. Having ball pythons and blood pythons plants and soil seems to make them happy
Plants will need a deeper substrate layer than that carpet will be able to offer. They need at least 4 inches to really allow their roots to grow, get grounded and flourish. You could keep them in their pots and just place them into your enclosure allowing your Beardie to eat them if he pleases. However, when you are ready to introduce any live plants within your enclosure, even in just the pots, be sure to take the proper cleaning precautions by de-dirting them and rinsing the root base completely. This will help prevent any hitchhikers, fertilizers or bacteria being introduced within your current enclosure.
haiiiii.. help me, is bioactive setup suitable for bearded dragon at young age? i have 2 months old bearded dragon. is it okay to start? or at what age is suitable? can u give advice
Hey bio dude. I just recently purchased the Red eyed tree frog kit from you and it should be here Friday. I want to be very thorough in making sure the enclosure is set up properly before placing the frogs in so I have been breeding my isopods and springtails and have not purchased any frogs yet. I just recently saw your Chytrid video and it has me running around crazy trying to find a reputable breeder. Is there anyone you would recommend and/or do you ship frogs ? I’m trying to stay away from the “field collected” sellers to avoid this fungus as much as possible but it seems like you’re the only one who captive breeds these little guys. Thank you. Random dude abides 👋
Would it be safe to mix your substrate with Josh’s Frogs biobedding? Ive been looking into getting a kit from you for a while because your vids are awesome, so I wanted to use your substrate as a base and maybe add a 10 qt bag of the desert biobedding later on to add an inch or 2 to the dirt. Would that be dangerous or risky?

My elephant feed I got from you a two weeks ago. Doesn't seem to be doing well. Planted in the Sahara...under the glow and grow. 18" away...should it be more shaded? What about watering?
a more desert species that fits the humidity rewuirements for the animal going inside the enclosure. you can send am email to the customer care team at customercare@thebiodude.com for the specifics on a quote for those guys as the weather is what depends on them being shipped or not.

Awesome great pets animals reptiles.
We agree!
What would you recommend for a rosy boa due to their need in low moisture and humidity.
Dude you are amazing
I appreciate that, thanks!

Hey there, this is the video for the "desert", the other videos are already posted as well.
Hey Biodude I was wondering if you could do a video on a savannah monitor bioactive setup? (scaled down of course) 😂
We shall add it to the list of ideas!
Could you put Tuna aka prickly pear in a bearded dragon enclosure

I was gonna ask this but then saw this comment
You definitely can, they probably wouldn't mess with it but yes it is safe.

The bearded dragons in my yard eat calendula flowers . Thanks Josh

Check out the frog girl and rainforest junkie. They are both really good people and may have some available for shipping.

Hi, I have just purchased this substrate! Is it suitable for Uromastyx and to also have plants in there?
Hi! What herbs do you think a leopard gecko would appreciate the most?

I need a stand advice. I have a 4x2x coming. Are yours custom?
Our stands are custom built by a company next door to our store location.
Can bearded dragons eat moss
Should I get organic herbs?
You can absolutely utilize herbs and plant them directly into your enclosure, after taking the proper cleaning precautions!
@@TheBioDudeJoshHalter just got some seeds to start! Waiting on a stand before I order the Sahara kit!
how much should you water them?
I ordered some stuff on your website a few days ago and they still haven’t been shipped, do you know how long it might take?
