Loving the content here - "Top Gear" vibes but with a focus on wine. Having that contrast in preferences is also super interesting - some might like the structure/power of the 389 while others would prefer the "in your face" fruit of the 28. Hope to see more of this in your other videos or future videos when you compare different wines. I haven't seen your other content but you've earned a subscriber from this video alone!
Legit been banging on about penfolds chard for a couple years now, its so dang good. Their bin A i would take over many a burgundy. Also it's really good you guys do a video every so often about mainstream, great content...one that springs to mind in that camp is the eileen hardy chard, drooling just thinking about it.
It's bloody awesome stuff - even came up in a blind tasting a couple of weeks after this video was made and we rated it quite highly! Thank you so much for the kind words and support!
I tried the Bin 28 for the first time with a hearty aged ribeye steak and it paired amazingly. It is very bold, fruity, and delicious. Let it sit out for an hour or so and open up and it mellows out a little.
Good stuff guys! Maybe experiment with less new oak or even different variants. Would be interesting to see what they could do given the sites they're able to access and with the side benefit of potentially making it cheaper (all that new oak ain't cheap!)
Thank you! Will do! We haven't seen the Powell and Son wines for quite some time - although we hear there's a new wine from the 'Son' - called Agricola!
I'm curious about the new vineyards that Penfolds have. Did I hear correctly they have some in Napa Valley? Id love to see an Australian vs American vineyard taste challenge
@@wineforthepeople I have the feeling the avg wine price here where you guys are (Australia right?) is like x3 the wine I drink in Spain! Great content btw, discovered your channel days ago and can't stop watching. Would really like some videos where you all blind taste casually and with not a lot of editing some wines. Cheers!!
@@francmassaneda Yep! We're based in Australia! Yes - you definitely get a great deal in Spain, that's for certain! Thanks so much for the support and the kind words :) Love the advice too - perhaps something special for our Discord group?

OOOOO that sounds like the perfect way to rip into the bin 28, feeling a bit jealous even Hahahah!

Different varieties in the hands of Penfolds would be remarkable!
Just discovered your channel,
Recommend checking out Powell and Son from Barossa
Great story and fantastic wines

ohhh that would be very intersting! We'll keep that one in mind for a vid
Can confirm they stand up to the Aussie wines. The Bin 600 Cab Shiraz was fantastic. Definitely would love to hear you blokes opinion
You're about to hear a lot more about this very very soon!
Awesome! We're just about to taste through them very very soon!
Grange is usually 100% Shiraz these days. Occasionally is might have 3% cab sav, but usually all Shiraz of late. In the 70s it had lots of cab sav.
Definitely Syrah heavy! Although the vineyards they use seem to change from year to year quite a bit!
whoa! havent watched it yet but this should be fucking interesting! great idea!
Thank you so much!
I hear “ I don’t like dad wines…I like fashionable wines”
we actually love both, but in this instance you might be correct ;)
I bort the penfolds koonnunga hill Shiraz 2021 seems nice 15 new Zealand dollar nice wine need to try others now
Yeah not bad huh? For a larger company, they really do nail the value-for-money wines, especially for mid-week drinking. Perfect!
haha, cant wait for Grange!
Neither can we!!
Where’s the Grange at guys?
@@wce_fan they recorded that high production video and still no grange? 🤔
@@Ruirspirul Haha I know, what a tease!
Must not have been footage good enough for video?
Happy you guys are getting that Penfolds money lol
Haha! Only Wine! No Cash!
"When i didn't know shit about wine this is what i was drinking" 90$ and 50$ wine. What?
LOL I think he meant 'flavour' rather than price.
@@wineforthepeople felt poor for a moment 🤣🤣
@@francmassaneda oh we feel that way all the time!

Bin28 can be a monster.
Seriously - underrated. Good to re-visit it!
There’s a reason the baby boomers and Gen X drink Penfolds et al. We want it bold and brassy.
Bahaha! You wanna have power and presence!
This is like an english class haha
Bahaha! I hope not!
