@@patrickvereecke6654 Absolutely, the livery is rubbish but that doesn't matter, a -100 is a -100 & every one was special to see & more importantly hear those wonderful JT9D-7A's in full song
@patrickvereecke6654 ah yes I miss the early jet age with growling engines as they were rotating at 1000ft flying over you man those were the days (unfortunately there is no boeing 747-100s flying anymore but it would be awesome to see one take off can anyone agree with me)
a flawless design, a sculptured work of art , Boeing magic again, history of pioneers , most beautiful giant jetliner ( unlike the hideous A380 nose 😃 ) , unmistakable engine sound , best 747 engines , CLASSIC in every sense 💯
@@patrickvereecke6654 I couldn’t agree more with you, it’s a timeless design that everyone around the world recognizes! Such a shame we don’t have to old Queen flying around anymore
@@AmsterdamAviationYT , changing times ,sometimes better , sometimes not , however visually the later current 747's are just as pleasing to see , minus the sound , this design will never disappoint me , a changing world of mainly twin engined designs , a matter of economics , but is of no interest to me
Well, there’s one sound that’s definitely better: a TF39 engined C-5. Hands down the best sound in aviation, sadly gone. Luckily we still have the TH-cam videos.
That’s sad that she was scrapped! They should have preserved her! I love the sound of the original 747’s and other loud jet airliners! Planes are too quiet now!
One thing I regret about flying career is never getting a chance to work the 100. Before 1998 and the twin era these were in high demand. Another thing that damaged this generation 747s reputation was TWA 800. Afterwards many airlines started parking these dinosaurs. That might not have played a major role but age of these aircraft did.
Patrick there is no plane like this plane everything about it is appealing like the old Hollywood song and film of good old analog times those were the days mate to remember. The Queen of the Skies lovely as ever with a slight hint of matte black on the nose looking beautiful and the take off music to the ears. Sorry about yesterday had a cable problem that was fixed today so we communicate again. Grand video love it. Patrick have a good weekend and catch you on the next flight.
if i could go back in time , i would be the first in line , only the real stuff matters , pilots in command without FBW , a passion for flying , i always compare aviation with cars , remember the best years of car manufacturing , 50-70ties , art on wheels , will not surprise you , i suppose that my cars are 34 and 30 years old as well , beauty and longevity matter , a world of twin-jets are not my kind of stuff either , to each his own, but nostalgic memories and beauty are eternal in the mind , still happy to see 747 with less interesting engine sound , a sight to behold , treasure and enjoy , best regards from a hot 33 degrees C at Ostend today , cheers Christopher
Thanks Patrick love those cars from the 50's to the 70's before 1971 no emission control device the cars had better fuel economy and burnt less fuel after 1971 the fuel economy plummeted with poor gas economy and lower compression ratio most V8 engines went from a compression ratio of 10:1 down to about 8.5 :1. Big Lincoln and Cadillac cars unthinkable that this was the new Detroit mind set. Design wise cars had their own distinctive design not a bunch of bubbles like now, those were the days mate thought they would never end. Patrick catch you on the next flight.
The A380, which is scheduled to be produced again, looks like an ugly pig with wings. 747 is the beautiful queen of the sky. Although she will not be reborn, she now remains a goddess.
The first 747-200 is ln 88. Since this is ln 60, it is indeed a 747-100, or more accurately a 747-122 delivered to United on 4th August 1970. Boeing introduced a retrofit on the 747 upper deck windows for airlines who want to streamline their fleet from the 3-window upper deck to the 10-window upper deck config, so that's why some 747-100 have 10 upper deck windows.
Bring these engines back! They are truely missed! The quiet engines today take away the joys of flying
No aircraft designer to date has come up with a more iconic plane than the 747. Perfect in all aspects.
apart from concorde ;)
😂😂
Yeah it’s called the Concorde and Boeing 777
@@anels9concorde not at the same level, but its the 2nd most iconic for sure

Yes. The old model
The Queen of the Sky’s.
Fasntastic -7A sounds there, I can't get enough of old growling -100's!

Great video patrick. The original pratt & whitney engined boeing 747’s always sounded the best at take off & landing.
The roaring, humming sound as experienced from front while take-off is typical of a classic 747.
Man these engines are so melodious! Modern jet engines are too quiet and jet engine should be LOUD! It’s what makes airplanes so cool
100% mate
P&W JT9D EPIC sound indeed 😍🔥✈️🔝🦅🇺🇸
JT8D, JT9D, and soloviev D-30. are the best ones❤
Exactly!
Magnificent! I hate to hear of a plane being broken up though. RIP.

Beautiful take off of the queen of the sky. ✈️
Awesome, Patrick. The classic ones are the rulers !!!

She is not called "THE QUEEN OF THE SKYS" for nothing. Still as graceful as ever. 👍
True That !

Best passenger plane Ever made.
Queen of giants
This channel has become one of my most favorite things on Earth!! What a stuff 😍
Never seizes to amaze me how Ostend was packed full of cargo aircraft just sitting there. Never knew such an airport could possibly exist.
Well, Ostend and Sharjah on the other hand.
Old skool is kool!❤️👌🏾
Leuk om nog eens terug te zien.
