I learned yesterday there are 2 small holes one on each side of the bell housing about half way down you can put large screwdriver in to hold the engine from turning while removing subaru harmonic balancer from my 96 subaru with an automatic transmission......
@@Nightshade_42 cant remember the video I watched but on my 96 legacy where the transmission bolts onto the engine I found a small hole about 3/8" about half way down the engine.. one on each side you need a good light to see them... maybe it is only on the automatic ??? the stick you can put it in gear and set the brake and usually break it loose by hitting the breaker bar with a pipe extension on it with a 4x4 hitting it like a baseball bat...
Are the earlier ones the same side? I have a 2004 impreza 2.5 liter. No way to break it loose breaker bar, thinking about doing this, did it before on my 2000 legacy but can't remember what side of th frame I put it on. Are all 2.5s the driver's side?
Call me soft, but my feelings hurt watching what that poor torque wrench just went through.

man i’m soo afraid that breaker going snap off. Ok how do you tight crank pulley bolt? isn’t when u tight it the crank pulley will turn too?
You gotta use a prybar to keep the fly wheel attached to the transmission from turning
I just did the belt trick was replacing it anyway .. why did you remove the pulley? Was it wobbley?

That horrible on your tools. Not recommended to break bolts loose with a torque wrench let alone this method.
This has long been a breaker bar for me, I use a new torque wrench to torque my bolts lol
