These old time preachers were so strong in the faith because they didn't comprises in the face of hippies and the New Wave. We should all learn something from these Old Time Men of God. Lest We Forget.
My dad Dwynell Dill use to play piano for Billy and traveled with Billy when he was holding tent meetings years ago. I lived down the road from the Greer Baptist Camp Meeting and Billy would come buy my house when camp meeting was about to start in Greer S.C. and get me to go tune the piano.
Campmeeting Time..I'll always remember Brother Billy,His testimony of God'Redeeming Grace,His timely sense ofHumor,his encouraging spirit,his love of life,his Love for Our Saviour,Old Fashioned Preacher not ashamed of Jesus a ND His Love,Thank You,Brother Kelly!
Called: "God's Cheerleader" Drove a huge cattle truck. Showed his love of God with tears, sweat, yells, hand in air waving a white handkerchief. One could not help; but love to hear him preach God's Word--The Bible! Very human & God's man for the hour!! (deceased) I heard him in the '70's.
There...for just 58 minutes...Corona, politics, and all our problems just faded away!

Our Pastor had him in to preach and sing... I was able to sit next to him on the front pew and listen to him talk to people and answer questions...
So blessed to be able to sit under his preaching as a young man...never forget him.

I sat under Billy Kelly many times...He was one of the best PREACHERS/SINGERS for our Lord...I never ever got tired of hearing him sing and preach....When he was in town, he was a regular guest around our dinner table....How he lite up our home....

He hardly ever preached the bible though, did he?
A lot of guff and showmanship, shouting and so forth I found, and very little humble and firm meaty exposition.
The result, 30 or 40 years down the line is worldly churches which compromise their convictions.
That's harsh my brother, sure, but you ask yourself if the history of our movement has not born this out the last 40-50 years.

The Billy Kelly I knew, admired, and loved was ONE OF THE BEST BIBLE teaching/preachers of all time. He knew and cherished God's Word...I have quit a few bible notes that I took during his preaching...Souls were saved and people's hearts were blessed and encouraged...There are just not too many men like him out there anymore...Those who stand upon God's Word, preaches His Word as it is written...I grew up in a Christian home, I raised my children in a Christian home and schooling. My dad and mom were missionaries who are now home with the Lord...
Yes, Billy Kelly was a humble man...a man who loved his solitude when he was not out on the road 50+ weeks out of the year preaching the gospel...I wish there were more men and women today who had the "guff and showmanship" of past preachers...maybe they would do best to be very humble and dine hearty on the meat of the Word...Rev. I remember him at the tent meetings in Elkton, MD. My dad and uncles would play music with him after the service. People would stay around for hours listening to them. Where have those times gone? I lost my dad two years ago. They probably have already set up some musical sessions. Of course, I cry when Come Spring plays.

Do you think God condemns believers to hell for living salvation completely ignoring his commands to not give in to excess food & drink? asking for a woman who fights every day to be who God wants her to be and not the homosexual she spent the first 25 years of her life as.
I am not sure of the question, but i do believe you can be saved and still fall into sin, i do not believe you can "Give up" or "Overcome" sin until you are saved. If this is you you are talking about, i commend you for wanting to change your life and be more pleasing to God, and if you would like to put your first name in here, I am more then happy to add you to my prayer list.
