Did you missed the information from former employee that said they had an entire other game BR almost complete and they scrapped it and cut the bulk of that content and cobbled together a loose representation of a typical BF game in less than a year and launched it knowing good and well it wasn’t ready.
Your correct...Because the russian dlc was delayed (afaik everybody went to work on Star wars battlefront 2) the russian dlc was delayed 6 months and as a result came with 6 maps.
BF1 was truly a masterpiece we took for granted. Would be awesome if the BF community went back to this game for a week just so we can experience some nostolgia.

I completely agree. I redownloaded BF1 yesterday and the same things immediately struck me. It’s mind boggling that a game can take this many steps back from a game that they made six years earlier.
I only entered the franchise during BF1 game. It was the first game I pre-ordered. The original trailer and follow up DLC trailers, to this day, give me goosebumps. Imagine my bewilderment when I played BFV and BF2042. No thank you. Like your favourite desert all of a sudden having its recipe changed without being told.
Watching this video and thank you for bringing one of these, I'm sad because since I started playing battlefield in battlefield 1942 I saw the franchise grow until 2016 and now if it's not dead it's still beyond that!
I just wish the movement wasn't so bad in BF1 after the nerfs, in terms of content it was simply amazing what this game had to offer (apart from some minor gameplay things like lots of grenade spam and the nerfed movement, it had a solid gameplay too).
This game aged like fine wine, still looks stunning, even on console too. Kinda surprised this game hasnt had a resurgence on console as well considering its part of the PS Collection and anyone with a PS5 can play for free whenever they want.
The Sound Effects and Music were so good in BF1. I mean even just the voice-overs were awesome......"There is a sentry kit near your location". How far has Dice fallen? If you paid Bezos to go to space in his Phallus rocket and looked down that would be a quarter of the distance Dice has fallen.
I like the theory that they were going to make a 2143 game, so they sent the good BF developers to space to research on location, but then they all floated off never to be seen again.

TSNP released with 4 and they gave us the two night maps, Nivelle and Prise, a while later. Meanwhile the Russian DLC was delayed so they gave us Lupkow Pass early
APOC had 3, (i don't include the air maps lol) TUTI had 4, only the Russian DLC had 6, TSNP only had 4 maps because Giants Shadow, Prise De Tahure and Nivelle Nights were mid season releases, you know... just throw in DLC while we waited for more DLC.

I didn't like bf1, when it came out. Tbh I still don't particularly like it, but then I compare it to bfv and 2042.... I seriously thought after bfv:"How much worse can it get after bfv? I've managed to have fun in BFV, so I will do the same in 2042. Even if it's less than ideal, it's enough to take it for one last spin with the homies before work and family take over my life." I've never been this wrong. Uninstalled it after one week of trying to play it. A sad end to my days as a gamer.

Dude I literally did this exact thing last week but on black ops 2 (comparing to MW2 2022). Black Ops 2 released in 2012 and it has 3x the content and features of MW2 2022. Just off the top of my head, black ops 2 has, combat training, combat record, full custom emblem editor, barracks, theater mode, integrated clip and video sharing, custom game mode creation and sharing, hardcore playlists, ranked playlists, functioning prestige system, a UI that actually makes logical fucking sense.... I'm sure there's a lot more that I missed. The new trend in gaming is developing and shipping is little as possible with each game. That's how they've made up for not raising prices. They just develop far far less content than they could and throw half their budget into marketing. And the sad part is it's working out for them.
I had a massive platoon i ran with my friends on bf1 and bfv and it was some of the best moments ive ever had in gaming then ea just let that die for no reason.
dont forget the 2 vault weapons they will be releasing that wont be balanced for the game whatsoever and most likely have broken models in the character screen. so much content...and at such a high level of detail as well...hopefully one day they will get their shit together.

I don’t know the exact name. A Photo realistic process. They actually got out of the office and took pictures of things, structures, textures , nature. I really enjoy 2042 but without a doubt its a drop in quality and content than every other bf game. That’s why 2042 drives me nuts. Its love /hate relationship. Maybe more of a huge disappointment relationship. Im on live with the potential bud Ea/Dice scewed everything up and don’t do anything about it. That’s what is worst for me. Letting the game die. BF1 weapon mechanics where horrendous, yes the game was immersive and visually looked great but the gunplay sucked and was easily the least impressive out of all BF's. It's content was great also though. Most companies are lazy and have no passion for thier games anymore but there isn't any other games that does it like Battlefield. Mw2 is literally Mw19 with even worse visual recoil, it's the same shit all over again. I appreciate that 2042 is a bit different but I agree the content is insulting.
I'm hoping that the lack of content in 2042 boils down to the fact that 90% of the personell @ DICE are working on the new Battlefield and together with Marcus Lehto are trying to get Battlefield back on the map again. God I hope that's true.

Might be because of the larger scale of 128 players. They had to take assets out on places so they could rework the maps because they were already at the limit before the reworks. Just like how we got worse tick rate servers.
100% true after watching bf1 videos i noticed that there is no "assist counts as kill" in bf 2042 ^^ probably the engine doesn't manage to show more UIs xD
I haven't played BF in general since a year now and I can no longer really identify with the game. As a main BF player for over 12 years, it somehow makes me sad to see what happened to the franchise. The only chance I see for the game, is if EA/DICE would sell the franchise to a studio with a clue of FPS-games and PASSION for Battlefield, unlike EA/DICE.
I must be the only outlier. Something about BF1 gun play after BF3 & 4 just left me cold. Still had my fun and put a lot of time into it but likely won't be going back. But clearly more expertise and effort went into BF1 then anything we are seeing in BF2042. But I keep playing and following BF2042 because like you I am fascinated by this amazing epoch of corporate ineptitude.

I never understood how people over look it especially if my ar randomly deviates in any direction while a lmg laser beams after a few shots. Even content creators tried to play alone until it sunk in. If they just go back to bf3/4 gunplay without the silent nerf gunplay patches dice/la added to bf4 then bf will gain traction again but ea/dice has alienated so many players

BF3 on PC with max settings even looks way better than 2042, especially the animations. I think at this point just make a BF3 remaster for current gen to gain back some confidence with the community. They can only polish the turd so much with 2042
What makes you think this DICE could do a Bf3 remaster justice? It'd just be a worse version of the original, just look at the Bf3 Portal stuff compared to the original, they couldn't even get 'the love letter to fans' right despite it being there to copy.

Bf3 can be remastered if they actually go in a keep the gameplay how it was with some minor tweaks. Hell a lot of people will go back to bf4 if they removed the dumb gunplay nerf

I have only played bf5 and 2042. Seeing the bf1 menu for the first time is like seeing the sun after living in a cave for 10 years. I've never seen so many options and so much content in a game menu. How did they remove so much and why???? I hate the bf5 menu.
I often wondered why 2042 was such a downgrade in graphics, sounds, functions, details, aesthetics etc. compared to the masterpiece BF1, but this is what you get when all senior frostbyte developers are long gone and the new staff isn't even capable of reproducing the good old stuff plus adding something new.
Just go back to what bf3/bf4 (excluding the nerfs) did far as gunplay goes and watch the franchise gain traction with the up to date engine. I cant speak for bad company 2 but I'm sure other would throw that in as well.
Still they give BF1 too much credit. For me it was the beginning of the end between the battlefront style vehicle spawn system and the Action Man assault which BFV perfected. I mean, BF1 was great, but it started some nasty things. They also started the tinted scopes in BF1
DICE actually brought in Indy Neidell from the Great War(now doing WW2) to write the codexes, that is how they went the extra mile, and it is clear now they don't give a shit and are only half assing these games. Real DICE died after BF1 and EA DICE took over.
Battlefield 2042 was made by new devs that didn’t knew how to use the frosbite engine created by older devs who where gone from dice. The GUNplay is from Warzone, from the crazy accuracy of the guns at long range to the hit markers and the fact that they lift their weapon when you sprint… the GAMEplay was from battlefield, but with bad maps, rushed level design and flat worlds… the UI is the worst thing of all, from the menus to the in-game infos. 2042 isn’t a battlefield game, it just isn’t. From every point of view… after all the devs from bf3-4-1 leaved DICE they just should have made a public announcement that the franchise comes to an end, and therefore new DICE fps games will go in another direction, under a different trademark, and everyone would have understood and respected EA and DICE for that
Your complaint about the lack of maps in 2042 is interesting. Because I predicted it, years before the game was released. The thing you're leaving out about the 6 DLC maps in a single DLC for BF1 is that the DLC was PAID CONTENT. You see, after BF1 virtually every BF content creator on TH-cam starting to openly WHINE non-stop about how the paid DLC in the BF games was RUINING Battlefield and "fracturing the community". Honestly, Enders, I don't know if you were one of these content creators or not, I wasn't following you back then. But, guys like LevelCap and JackFrags (both of whom I follow and like very much) were like, "Oh, they're ruining Battlefield with their paid DLC, those rotten, greedy so-and-so's at DICE and EA are just awful, awful people. We need the DLC to be FREE because there are other games that do it. Why can't DICE and EA understand how important this is to the community?" This is all I heard forever on TH-cam. Unfortunately, for all of us, DICE/EA actually LISTENED to the BF content creators and stopped charging for DLC. And, just exactly as I predicted back then, the quality and quantity of the DLC, fell off a cliff. Now, one year after the release of 2042 we have, what, 2 maps? I said it then, I'll say it again. Anyone who thought that DICE/EA was going to GIVE AWAY the same quantity of DLC for FREE that it was selling for $10-$15 a pop had to have their collective heads up their asses. This was a easy to predict as tomorrow's sunrise. Personally, I was more than happy to PAY for the excellent DLC that DICE/EA was releasing every 3-4 months after the game released. All the while, also fixing the bugs. And what did we get? We got outstanding games like BF3, BF4 and BF1. DICE/EA didn't just decide to do this on their own. They were shamed into doing it by the TH-cam BF content creators who wanted to get something for nothing. So, there ya go. Are ya happy now?
EA just made dice follow the tendencies created by fucking fortnite, they never listened to the community or jackfrags or levelcaps, and no nobody is happy.
The problem was it was splitting up the community, not the price. At least the DLC packs made DICE actually deliver.. Now they have a get-out-of-jail free card with live service and only delivering what they promised. If the game bombs, they can will do just that... Oh hey, BF2042... And BFV both bombed so they did exactly that. I hate to say it buy you won't capture the zoomer market either. Everything is f2p + live service these days, other than CoD which can get away with it. I loved the British accent. I belive the humans automated the development of BF2042. The AI bots were managed by monkeys...hence the "dogs breakfast" that is BF 2042...
A slight exaggeration in this video. Firstly, don't be fooled by the "number" of weapons....they're essentally the same weapon just with different characteristics. So take this video with a pinch of salt. I'm in no way defending BF2042, it definttely lacks contant, but this is not entirely accurate as BF2042 also has badges for weapons/specialists etc so that was a moot point right there
Game is one of the best FPS of all time. Period. NOTHING comes close to the immersion. Imagine it had BFV movement mechanic, I would not bother with any other game.
Don't forget actual real classes and factions! BF1 was fun as heck but let us be real on the weapon selections ' and vehicles really ' they honestly did have a low amount of stuff, they just had several variations of select weapons and vehicles.. BUT that was alright..because it was the era it was set in, so it was understandable and OK. 2042 is modern/futuristic era, there is 0 reason why they have such low weapons count...
BF 1 was and still is one of the best BF games, 2042 is not a patch on this. 2042 will be in its last death throes after year 1 pass is done (its already been close to it for the past year to be honest).

BF1 looks better than BF2042 mainly because DICE somehow decided to not use their photogrammetry technology.

BF1 weapon mechanics where horrendous, yes the game was immersive and visually looked great but the gunplay sucked and was easily the least impressive out of all BF's. It's content was great also though.
Most companies are lazy and have no passion for thier games anymore but there isn't any other games that does it like Battlefield. Mw2 is literally Mw19 with even worse visual recoil, it's the same shit all over again.
I appreciate that 2042 is a bit different but I agree the content is insulting.
I'm hoping that the lack of content in 2042 boils down to the fact that 90% of the personell @ DICE are working on the new Battlefield and together with Marcus Lehto are trying to get Battlefield back on the map again. God I hope that's true.

Might be because of the larger scale of 128 players. They had to take assets out on places so they could rework the maps because they were already at the limit before the reworks. Just like how we got worse tick rate servers.
They should pick up the game again and develop it more...and get rid of all the cheaters. That would be awesome. What a brilliant game

after watching bf1 videos i noticed that there is no "assist counts as kill" in bf 2042 ^^ probably the engine doesn't manage to show more UIs xD
I haven't played BF in general since a year now and I can no longer really identify with the game. As a main BF player for over 12 years, it somehow makes me sad to see what happened to the franchise. The only chance I see for the game, is if EA/DICE would sell the franchise to a studio with a clue of FPS-games and PASSION for Battlefield, unlike EA/DICE.
We used to say bf1 has less content than bf4, now look at where we are at :/
I must be the only outlier. Something about BF1 gun play after BF3 & 4 just left me cold. Still had my fun and put a lot of time into it but likely won't be going back. But clearly more expertise and effort went into BF1 then anything we are seeing in BF2042. But I keep playing and following BF2042 because like you I am fascinated by this amazing epoch of corporate ineptitude.
@@AKK5I yes the rock, paper scissors gunplay destroyed what bf built. I never understood how people over look it especially if my ar randomly deviates in any direction while a lmg laser beams after a few shots. Even content creators tried to play alone until it sunk in. If they just go back to bf3/4 gunplay without the silent nerf gunplay patches dice/la added to bf4 then bf will gain traction again but ea/dice has alienated so many players

BF1 really looks superior to BF2042. It puzzles me each time I look at it. I am not even talking about the awesome soundtrack.
BF1 looks better while running at TRIPLE the framerate on my system.
BF3 on PC with max settings even looks way better than 2042, especially the animations. I think at this point just make a BF3 remaster for current gen to gain back some confidence with the community. They can only polish the turd so much with 2042
What makes you think this DICE could do a Bf3 remaster justice? It'd just be a worse version of the original, just look at the Bf3 Portal stuff compared to the original, they couldn't even get 'the love letter to fans' right despite it being there to copy.

The portal stuff is just a reskin over bf 2042's horrible gameplay thats why no one is interested because its not bf3 nor other bf titles its just a reskin...... Bf3 can be remastered if they actually go in a keep the gameplay how it was with some minor tweaks. Hell a lot of people will go back to bf4 if they removed the dumb gunplay nerf
@@johngood7619 It would do the franchise justice, but Bf3 is loved by a large part of the community/playerbase and I just don't think this DICE has the talent to pull it off and get it right, you think people are pissed about 2042 imagine the backlash and how pissed they'd be if the beloved Bf3 got murdered by a poor remaster... I mean isn't it one of the reasons we haven't seen a Bad Company 3 despite fair demand for it; they're that scared of F'ing it up that they just don't bother.
Anyway I don't believe this DICE has the talent to make a good Bf3 remaster and personally as someone who didn't really play it, why not a Bf2 remaster in Frostbite, it would be easier/more forgiving to remaster as there's no direct Frostbite comparison (apart from Bf3 B2K and Bf4 Dragon Valley).

What happened? EA happened. They buy franchises and drive them to the ground. DICE just lasted much longer than most.
I have only played bf5 and 2042. Seeing the bf1 menu for the first time is like seeing the sun after living in a cave for 10 years. I've never seen so many options and so much content in a game menu. How did they remove so much and why???? I hate the bf5 menu.
I often wondered why 2042 was such a downgrade in graphics, sounds, functions, details, aesthetics etc. compared to the masterpiece BF1, but this is what you get when all senior frostbyte developers are long gone and the new staff isn't even capable of reproducing the good old stuff plus adding something new.
And everybody complained about this game too. So what should they do? They can't please anyone...smh
Just go back to what bf3/bf4 (excluding the nerfs) did far as gunplay goes and watch the franchise gain traction with the up to date engine. I cant speak for bad company 2 but I'm sure other would throw that in as well.
Still they give BF1 too much credit.
For me it was the beginning of the end between the battlefront style vehicle spawn system and the Action Man assault which BFV perfected.
I mean, BF1 was great, but it started some nasty things. They also started the tinted scopes in BF1

DICE actually brought in Indy Neidell from the Great War(now doing WW2) to write the codexes, that is how they went the extra mile, and it is clear now they don't give a shit and are only half assing these games. Real DICE died after BF1 and EA DICE took over.

Battlefield 2042 was made by new devs that didn’t knew how to use the frosbite engine created by older devs who where gone from dice. The GUNplay is from Warzone, from the crazy accuracy of the guns at long range to the hit markers and the fact that they lift their weapon when you sprint… the GAMEplay was from battlefield, but with bad maps, rushed level design and flat worlds… the UI is the worst thing of all, from the menus to the in-game infos.
2042 isn’t a battlefield game, it just isn’t. From every point of view… after all the devs from bf3-4-1 leaved DICE they just should have made a public announcement that the franchise comes to an end, and therefore new DICE fps games will go in another direction, under a different trademark, and everyone would have understood and respected EA and DICE for that
Your complaint about the lack of maps in 2042 is interesting. Because I predicted it, years before the game was released. The thing you're leaving out about the 6 DLC maps in a single DLC for BF1 is that the DLC was PAID CONTENT. You see, after BF1 virtually every BF content creator on TH-cam starting to openly WHINE non-stop about how the paid DLC in the BF games was RUINING Battlefield and "fracturing the community". Honestly, Enders, I don't know if you were one of these content creators or not, I wasn't following you back then. But, guys like LevelCap and JackFrags (both of whom I follow and like very much) were like, "Oh, they're ruining Battlefield with their paid DLC, those rotten, greedy so-and-so's at DICE and EA are just awful, awful people. We need the DLC to be FREE because there are other games that do it. Why can't DICE and EA understand how important this is to the community?" This is all I heard forever on TH-cam. Unfortunately, for all of us, DICE/EA actually LISTENED to the BF content creators and stopped charging for DLC. And, just exactly as I predicted back then, the quality and quantity of the DLC, fell off a cliff. Now, one year after the release of 2042 we have, what, 2 maps? I said it then, I'll say it again. Anyone who thought that DICE/EA was going to GIVE AWAY the same quantity of DLC for FREE that it was selling for $10-$15 a pop had to have their collective heads up their asses. This was a easy to predict as tomorrow's sunrise. Personally, I was more than happy to PAY for the excellent DLC that DICE/EA was releasing every 3-4 months after the game released. All the while, also fixing the bugs. And what did we get? We got outstanding games like BF3, BF4 and BF1. DICE/EA didn't just decide to do this on their own. They were shamed into doing it by the TH-cam BF content creators who wanted to get something for nothing. So, there ya go. Are ya happy now?
EA just made dice follow the tendencies created by fucking fortnite, they never listened to the community or jackfrags or levelcaps, and no nobody is happy.
The problem was it was splitting up the community, not the price. At least the DLC packs made DICE actually deliver.. Now they have a get-out-of-jail free card with live service and only delivering what they promised. If the game bombs, they can will do just that... Oh hey, BF2042... And BFV both bombed so they did exactly that.
I hate to say it buy you won't capture the zoomer market either. Everything is f2p + live service these days, other than CoD which can get away with it. Bit of a rock and a hard place..

A slight exaggeration in this video. Firstly, don't be fooled by the "number" of weapons....they're essentally the same weapon just with different characteristics. So take this video with a pinch of salt.
I'm in no way defending BF2042, it definttely lacks contant, but this is not entirely accurate as BF2042 also has badges for weapons/specialists etc so that was a moot point right there

Game is one of the best FPS of all time. Period. NOTHING comes close to the immersion. Imagine it had BFV movement mechanic, I would not bother with any other game.
In fact the only problem is chinese 150 ping hackers (at least in eu region)

BF1 was fun as heck but let us be real on the weapon selections ' and vehicles really ' they honestly did have a low amount of stuff, they just had several variations of select weapons and vehicles.. BUT that was alright..because it was the era it was set in, so it was understandable and OK.
2042 is modern/futuristic era, there is 0 reason why they have such low weapons count...
BF 1 was and still is one of the best BF games, 2042 is not a patch on this. 2042 will be in its last death throes after year 1 pass is done (its already been close to it for the past year to be honest).
