What is a MOBA?
Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas, or MOBAs for short, originated as a sub-genre of the RTS (Real-Time Strategy) genre. Because of this, in most MOBA games, the player takes control of a single character from the isometric (top-down) view akin to most RTS games. Typically, in MOBA games, a player takes control of a single character on one of two teams. Those players choose characters that all have their own abilities, or “kits”. To win, the players must use a combination of abilities, teamwork, and strategy to not only best their opponent, but destroy the opponents main structures. A bonus to the genre is that most MOBAs are free games, which is definitely a contributing factor of the their massive success. The genre has many titles, the largest of which being Defense of the Ancients (DoTA) and DoTA 2, League of Legends (LoL), and most recently SMITE!
What is SMITE?
SMITE is one of the more recent free MOBA games to enter the fray. In SMITE you don’t just choose a character, you choose a god. You’ll instantly feel an attachment to characters like Thor and Zeus because even if you don’t know the lore behind them, you’ve at least heard their names before! What makes SMITE so immersive is Hi-Rez Studios’ inclusion of historical lore into the gods’ abilities, kits, and play styles. Thor and Loki aren’t just characters from Marvel comics and movies. They’re also a part of Norse mythology and you can take control of them in SMITE!
What makes SMITE different?
SMITE takes all of the strategy of the top MOBA games and adds another layer of difficulty by putting you into the action! Unlike most MOBA games, SMITE offers players the chance to experience the MOBA genre they know and love from a third-person perspective. This unique perspective allows for an extremely immersive experience unlike any other game in the genre. While this doesn’t sound like such a big change, once you play it you’ll understand! All of these things added together is what has gaming websites everywhere continually rating SMITE as one of the best MOBA games available!
So basically Ra is just sitting around, being the sun and stuff, while being rolled around by Khepri al day, every day

TheNuroshi Ra has three different versions of "himself" Ra who carried the sun across the sky Khepri who pushes it up every morning and Knum the ram headed version carries it down every night

No its the other way around ra goes to the underworld abd gives sunlight there khepri rolls the sun across the sky.

Hes going to be one of the best supports ever, assuming the usual people don't start crying that hes broken then they nurft him until hes worthless
DennisJ (The Last Methbender) They've nerfed Sylvanus like thrice now and I still do really well with him, so even if Khepri gets nerfed (and he definitely will) he'll still be useful in the right hands.
Sorry to say but he need's to be nerfed his kit is just too good trust I aint one of those people that complain but this god needs a nerf bad

He has 2 CCs, a few decent buffs, mediocre damage, and a revive.
His kit has a lot too it, but not a lot of overloaded stuff.

I'm really curious to see how this will all change the meta. Foreseeing a lot of duo lanes with Khepri and high-sustain / -damage hunters. Also curious to see how "OP" or "not OP" he is. So far I can tell he makes a difference in fights, definitely.

I kinda get the jokes in the comments about Nyx and Anub'arak but I also don't.
Khepri is the original that Nyx and Anub'arak are based on even though smites take on him came the latest.
Almost all the moba's have ripped 90% of the characters from mythologies or popular cultural movements but I like that Smite uses the god's themselves as its a nice little bit of mythological education along with your game.
the thing is that the khepri illustration doesnt look that in real egyptian lore. Yes blizzard inspiration for anub arak is obviously based from beetles but not Khepri.
Also anub araks body proportion is different when compared to regular scarabs. He is elevated with crab like legs and mantis like arm, does khepri looked like that in egyptian lore? well NO.

Ra has 3 forms, one for each part of the day.
Ra is his most powerful form and is in the middle of the day.
As you said Khepri IS the one who moves the sun and he basically Ra moving the sun in night until the dawn where his 3rd form (Khum) takes the job to raise it.
(i know he technically merged with Khepri and Khum but in the end he is those 3 gods)
That is true, however, they were still worshipped like seperate gods. You could just think of him as an alternate charecter of Ra
Or a trio who work on the sun. Like the greek gods od the ocean: Poseidon, Oceanus...

Sweet, you guys actually made me want to play as a dung beetle 🪲, a divine, sun paladin dung beetle
Uh, lads... Anub'Arak and Khepri are both beetles...of course they look alike.
And before someone tries to correct me, Scarabs are beetles.
Scarab beetles with human-esque faces designed eerily similar, with scythe-like forearms instead of normal scarab arms, that so happen to have designs that are identical (namely the Convention skin for Khepri)?

An another good tip for people playing Khepri is that his ultimate only last 5 seconds. so only use it when some one is about to die. Enemy's can wait 5 seconds so they will kill your target of the buff stops at very low health
Now that we got this out of the way , i wonder how Xin Tian will be ! I saw images , but i want to see how Hi-Rez will desing him !
I remember on the PTS he was able to grab allies and pull them out of roots and stuns, and instead of your ally being hit while you were holding them, you got hit instead. That's a useful tool for protecting your ADC and I dont understand why they took it out. If they were afraid that it would be used to troll teammates, well you already got Ymir Cabraken and now Yemoja.

When I played Khepri, double kill before the game officially starts. 2 vs 4 and boy khepri is full of clutch and full body guarding powers. Recommended!

There always need to be one hero 'cept in DOTA who has a revive ultimate. Monk in HOTS, Zilean in LoL and now Khapri although all other abilities quite different for each hero. Although I like Khapri's one since it brings the revived hero to you so it's more effective at saving people.
