I tend to blink when I'm putting on eyeliner. I always end up with a massive line going up the middle of my eyelid. ... every single time 😁

Try starting from the outer part of your lid rather than the inner corner, that way the hardest part is done and you just need to follow your lid from there.
milk , I have tried that too but I have a crazy strong blink reflex. I seem to be able to make it work when I end up with a massive line going where it shouldn't, especially if I don't have time to wipe it off and start again. Horray for extra black eyeshadow!
