Austin is such a blast to watch play and he's just an absolute machine. You can tell he's just in full vibe mode when playing.

To play fast with blast is either fingers or push pull technique. I learned fingers from JoJo Mayer a master at jazz drumming. Hes teaches from switching from french to german grip. Either heel to toe or ankle technique for fast double bass. Its all in pedal settings.

You should do a Drum React to Alex Bent from Trivium. Be interesting to see your take on his skill and play style. Definitely my favourite drummer.

@@TheGhostNotePodcast Hey! Basically any video but his video of Betrayer I think shows a lot of his talent and the camera angles are better to see everything he is doing. I think he has some more complex songs from What The Dead Men Say album tho.

Dirk Verbeuren and Bastian Thuusgard are my favorite drummers both from the swedish melodeath band Soilwork

A they are not death metal and b he does not use triggers. He’s shown his entire kit in other videos and there are no triggers for anything.

Deathcore* yeah I need to fix that thumbnail lol and Austin 1000% uses triggers on the kicks. Pretty sure the module next to him is for the triggers. He used to use footblasters which are actually on the pedal. He also used to use the Roland RT30 on the kick which he may be using in this video but I can’t really see it. That module to his left is for the trigger also. Pretty sure it’s just the kick that’s triggered

Well they’re Deathcore, which is a subgenre of death metal, so technically they’re death metal :)
