My nan absolutely loved Shirley Bassey. Last year when my nan passed away we played this song as each of my family members came up to her cofin which had her picture (that I had taken) on it and said our final goodbyes to her. I have never seen my family come together like that. Whenever I hear this song, I burst into tears. ❤❤❤ love you, nanny.
Played at our mam's funeral in March. She loved DSB and the lyrics captured everything we believe our mam would have wanted said to reflect her life.
I know it is not done to talk about a lady's age, but give me a break please. DSB has always had a remarkable voice , very powerful with a unique tone and great dynamic... but to have this still at 83 is unprecedented, I honestly can not believe what I hear. She was and still is a real iconic legend. Thats all.

I amazed ! Just as DSB seems to be preparing us for her final performance she has done it again and re-invented a song and made it her own so definitively that you can't believe anybody sang this before her. It feels like it was written for her alone. Didn't she do this with "Get The Party Started" where her cover is better than Pink's original? Just my humble opinion, of course ,but it feels like she is leaving her mark on musical history , determined to show this is how it was done. Her age is irrelevant because a performer can either pull it off or they can't. The fact that she can do it so effectively makes it hard to believe this is really the end of a career. We will always want just one more , just one more.

This is stunning. This song works so well for her, or she works the song so well lol. It has so much more depth and meaning coming from Dame Bassey. She has 83 years of life experience working for her. As she is nearing the end of her career this is an anthem of her life. She is such a remarkable person. We all know she was here and may she long live, but when she is no longer with us, she will live eternally through the work she leaves behind. Like all the greats she will live forever capturing new fans forever.

We had this at my grandmothers funeral, she was a huge fan of Shirley. It makes me cry everytime I hear the song. I miss my grandmother (nanna) so very much.

I love her music and I immediately read everything he had to read on wikipedia ... an impressive career and an impressive person ... one day she lost her voice due to a stroke of fate ... but she found it again through love. She is a gift from GOD ... for the song "i war here" when you see how beautiful she is and how many hearts she has warmed with her beauty, love and music ... then the lyrics make sense quickly. Today I heard about this wonderful singer for the first time. I knew the theme song by Goldfinder but I didn't know that Shirley Bassey would make it well. Sorry for my englisch... i try my best...
