- Viking 'Southerner' rides one more time! After some death-ridden live streams I wanted to see if I could do it one and I got there! The boss fight needs to get a little cleaner but I look forward incorporating the strategies I've picked up into fresh playthroughs!
In case you missed it I streamed my blind entry and eventual victory live, which can be found in the playlist linked below. It was very exploratory and we tried to see all there was to see, culminating with a little devcommands Ashlands Science™. Now I've restored my backup to before we left. We open with a Queen fight and then set sail for a different landing spot.

This has been so educational watching you play through Ashlands. I don't really care about spoilers so this has been super entertaining as usual.
Awesome run! One of my favorite moments was this amazingly quick fortress takeover 2:22:09. There were a TON of mobs, but you just jump in, take out two spawners, kill the warlocks and bam…under control. The best part is your calm voice and walking for stamina regen (a HUGE thing I’ve learned from you), just chatting away as 20 mobs are hitting you, lol. Classic Threadmenacing.
That fortress was a lot less elegant than I led myself to believe it would be from your comment hahaha Super impressive but not elegant lol
@sandmaster4444 I'm not sure I've seen any elegant fortress moments lol. Especially during the ptb. I think it was the mix of all the mobs and the “I've got a plan, execute plan, succeed in calm Thread manner” that stood out. At the time I'd mostly seen a lot of chaotic fortress takeovers haha.

This was great. I can’t wait for the speed runs. I appreciate the semi-instructional aspect of this video. I always learn something new about this game from your videos, and I have 1800 hours played haha. I was playing on hardcore difficulty, but with the map on before Ashlands came out and that also helped a lot! Keep up the good work!!!
you technically don't need to bring ANY iron to the ashlands, because you can make the stone portal at your main base. You can connect stone portals to regular portals for one-way iron transfer (from your main base to the ashlands)
Great playthrough Thread, a deathless run is just something else! That beach landing, I had to just keep telling myself it was all just going to be ok… 😂😂 As always, many thanks for posting your great content! 👍👍

Watched first 1/4 "Looking forward to watching the rest" Entry was a bit rough but the Morgen gotta love them. They help a lot with a swarm. I think they still need to work on that agro range a bit as trees are always falling Ashlands and they just seem to stand there. thinking they should be agro on the tree itself fist then you if you are in range. Seems like it's coded as "If tree farts and player is 50m away = All within 100m attack player".. I'm exaggerating but damn that is the way it feels sometimes even after you take out the spawners, put up generators, benches and they still coming out of nowhere lol.

@@ThreadMenace Have you reached any conclusions on what gear you'll need to bring to the Ashlands for a speedrun? I'm thinking that's going to have a huge impact on the rest of the run. The Demolisher can be an enormous asset for crowd control, but the amount of iron required is rather daunting. You did say something about doing silver, maybe skipping iron? Is that even doable?

Hey Thread! Great run, love watching your play style and commentary. Any reason you don't use any kind of bile bomb or such for continued damage while you have to wait for his attacks to fade? I know it probably won't add up to much, but just a thought.
Eh, I get kinda scatter-brained and it's just another thing to think about. I'd prolly introduce tasty mead before I introduced bombs
