N52 is a stretched (mainly cockpit) N47, Base price of 47 is approx 800k, 52 is about 1M .. The 55 is a big difference (completely different hull and much larger inside) ... they take about 1 year to build ..from order..
the Stradivarius of power to the people, drive anywhere in the world in a little palace, all safe and sound, fish for all, dude, that is the best thing transportation device in the world
Thanks for the reply! That makes more sense to me. I wasn't trying to call you on anything, just that if the base for a N55 was 2m, then a 68FPH is a heck of an upgrade for 800k. 1.55 to 2.86 base to base seems much more logical. While we're at it, where does the N52 Flybridge sit in this equation? Nice to see Riptide sell, I really liked the styling with the stripes and bimini top. One of my favorite 55's.
worth mentioning ... if i was to purchase Riptide from USA @ $1.15M .. by the time i loaded her on a ship to com to Australia, paid the applicable duties and taxes, some mods for operating her here etc ...filled her with diesel ($14K !) i'd have spent another $300k ...before starting the engine !
N55 base cost $US 1.55M ...N68 base cost $US2.86M .. Base cost does not include options (Tender, engine upgrades, All Nav gear, certain wood and leather upgrades, wing engine, generator/s washing machines, fridges, etc etc etc...TAX, and shipping costs .. easily another $500,000 - $1M ....
I love these boats, but 10 knots cruising is a little slow. I would like to see them be able to at least get 15 knots.if you're traveling up a river with 8 knot current or more I don't know how you're going to get anywhere, and those rivers are out there.
This is a boat with ocean crossing capabilities. If you want this to do 15 knots it would take huge design changes so it wouldn't be a full displacement hull anymore and you've entered a totally different ball game. If you're going to spend your time on rivers this is not the boat for you.
Cannot get enough of these Nordhavn "Ships" wonderful. I wish there were more. I would love to see more 120 owners sharing their experiences. Thanks

lol sail her there. after all, it is an ocean crosser. It is a great boat just the same. if you can call a Nordhavn a boat.
I noticed the owners have put 'Riptide' up for sale, asking $1,195,000 and looks like a smokin' deal for a really nice boat.

Does anyone know the hull number of this this one?
2m for a new 55? Interesting. Circumnavigator listed a new 68 FPH as a base cost of 2.8m.
Why not drive it to Australia, It would be your maiden voyage... Worth mentioning.

Lovely, then leave for the quiet channels of the NWP to gain peace of mind from the present world.
