This sheds more light into Vince's mentality. Still thinks it's the 80s and 90s and taking away good parts of a wrestler's gimmick will get heel heat instead of go away and turn the TV off heat.
Imagine just how depressed & completely over with a situation u have to be to reject a six figure contract. Money clearly does not always mean happiness

What I do find odd was that Wade was in firm place early on to be the first British WWE champion. But may show my bias as a Scotsmen I am glad it was Drew 😂😂
Yep. Had the nexus won at Summerslam 2010, that would have been the starting point of building Barrett to be a top heel in the company - something the wwe didn’t have at that point in time with Orton and edge turning face and Jericho and Batista both leaving
Wade would have been an amazing choice to end the Undertaker's streak IF they HAD to end it. He was a great heel and seemed to always be a heel, so what's a bigger heel move than ending that iconic streak?
Barrett deserved better. I hate this hearing this so much, and I feel bad. He's phenomenal as a commentator, but god damn he deserved to keep going as a wrestler.
The Nexus should have won at SummerSlam. Wade Barrett should have defeated Randy Orton at Survivor Series for the WWE Championship. It should have been John Cena Vs. Wade Barrett for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 27

The old way was just not it. If I’m grateful for anything under Triple H is that he’s not just burying fan favorites to push an agenda.
It's a shame because Wade finally had the chance to be a big babyface with the BnB gimmick, and he strongly wanted to do a run as a babyface but Vince just buried it without hesitation, that sucks.
Why hasn't he been back in the ring? I get why he stepped away from WWE. Completely understandable. Just not sure why he never wrestled another match after that.
Wade made the right decision I wanted the nexus to succeed John cena shouldn't of buried them still have the civil war storyline in 2011 with nexus vs New nexus Barret, slater, Outouga and ezikeil Jackson og nexus vs Cm punk, ryback, Micheal tarver and Justin Gabriel
It's insane how much momentum Wade had with Nexus but they decided to pull the rug. Then they did everything possible to slowly chip away at his credibility going forward.
Wade really was a rising star in his prime. The Nexus got buried by Cena's influence on Vince. This is why I hate Vince. He is not hearing his employees' sides. He is very stubborn on his opinions and he considers what he thinks is the best. That is the difference between WWE and other promotions. A reason for me to love ROH was this. They heard their wrestlers' interests and gave them opportunities to shine.
Basically a good analogy of Vince is he sets up a fruit juice stall and you know all your customers like apple Juice but because you like Orange Juice you decide to only sell orange Juice.
Wrestlers get too wrapped up in creative and how you’re portrayed on television. They fail to look at the big picture. He was probably making $300-$400k per year downside easy. If you come into that contract with a financial plan and say you have a 5 year deal, if you are wise with your money, you can buy a fairly nice house and pay it off through the duration of your 5 year deal. Now you’re in your late 20’s or early 30’s, your deal is over and you don’t have a house payment anymore for the rest of your life. Plus you’ve socked away a good chunk of money for a retirement. That’s what wrestling for that company is. It’s a way to prepare very well for your financial future and if that means sacrificing and going with the flow for a few years, then you should bite the bullet and do it. I mean let’s get real, if you didn’t wrestle for WWE and stopped being a wrestler, what job could you do in life that would pay you anywhere near what WWE can pay you? That’s why you take advantage of the opportunity.
Do you think Wade Barrett made the right decision to leave WWE in 2016? Sound off in the comments.

I someone getting over and not wanting to push them in the main event, but it’s just that… you don’t have to. If you stifle these guys you’re losing money on merch, ticket sales, etc. Sami Zayn is a perfect example, he’s gotten over, but not the guy they want to push in the main event, but this time around instead of burying his character and making him unlikeable, they just refocused it.
I'm afraid I've got some BAD NEWS!!!! Bad News Barrett was brilliant. WWE should have kept it going much longer.
He might finally be getting both a fatewell match and a face turn..
Barrett was a beast
I remember telling myself once, that Wade Barrett is going to be WWE champion and I waited and waited for that day...alas Vince wouldn't let it be😐
Why hasn't he been back in the ring? I get why he stepped away from WWE. Completely understandable. Just not sure why he never wrestled another match after that.
Go big or go home. He never settled for less than his worth.
This man has some guns!
It's interesting how these wwe wrestlers turn down big money and they move to smaller companies for less money but they enjoy it more
Vince is way more concerned about what he likes over what the actual fans like. It's irritating to see.
It's insane how much momentum Wade had with Nexus but they decided to pull the rug. Then they did everything possible to slowly chip away at his credibility going forward.
The Nexus was never going to last
If they would of turned Wade Barrett face he could of been a true main eventer.
@@adamlennard1828 lmao 😂
Wade Barrett look like Gerard Butler
Can always count on Vince to kill an organic push if his hand picked people where the ones getting the pops.
League of Nations vs Roman could’ve been stretched for a whole year
