Vipers pulling out lurkers underground is almost as questionable as SCV-s repairing a flying Battlecruiser.
I am afraid to watch this, still remember that 25 minutes long grand finals between these two :Dd
ONE GAME ALONE LAST LONGER THAN THAT GRAND FINAL
Serral learned a lot from that grand finals and showed Rogue how to play hydra lurker viper in ZvZ. This is a replay that really demonstrates what the match-up should be like.

It's amazing how different this was from other SC2 matches! Not only ZvZ, but the skill shown was damn impressive! Great cast as always Lowko!
That overseer grab at 12:26 by Serral is a definite FU.
It's kind of cool how much the increase in Viper priorities have changed some of the dynamics of this matchup. Also seeing all those buildings being in red health is funny too.
I think longer ZvZ is super fun to watch. the mind games are intense
My favorite about it is that Zerg loses.
Main reason I play Zerg too, either I win or a Zerg loses :D

example: one of the advisers to president Zelenskyy recently said on video that russia could go full mobilisation and zerg rush ukraine (although he didn't think it'd be a successful tactic)

I once played zvt as Zerg, due to heavy fighting, accidently pumped out my hive in main base with 3 own workers, eventually i won, but actually I didn't understand how i lost the hive at the moment I was playing. I realized that it was me😀😀 after watching a replay miss clicking my workers, that was emberassing moment😄

When I was decent I loved mutaling. I used to semi-Icefisher, and one game I did that I won without winning a single engagement.

24:19 how about using some pedals for some extra "hotkeys"? I mean we don't use our feet at all for Starcraft and sure in this case they are not has handy as an extra arm but it would be interesting.
I would have loved to see Serral make a couple banes when Rogue's army started to focus on hydras to make him think twice before abducting units ontop of the hydras
Haha! Somehow I doubt the Banes would get accidentally Abducted, but that would be a funny strategy if it worked.
@@LanceFehr Even making Rogue hesitate for a bit would be more than enough, plus they would have to shift focus between the Vipers and the Banes to not get obliterated

People always act like SC2 is a difficult game. All you have to do is play like Serral, and you'll be fine.
467 APM from Serral is ridiculous high. Even Lowko admited he can only performs maximum at 300-350 APM. Rogue only has 331 APM this game.
Serral played a very SC1 lurker hydra style with viper as air support, and NEVER went above 54 drones for the entire game while Rogue played very greedily in the early to mid game, having over 70 drones before the big baneling massacre of drones, enabling Serral to continuously cripple the economy of his opponent with his own, for all intents and purposes, untouched at all. A 50 drone eco in ZvZ is how "more stuff beats less stuff" is shown in its purest of forms! SC1 ZvZs can be over in less than 5 minutes simply due to the rock-paper-scissor nature of the match-up. Lurkers have always been amazing for base defense. I expect hold position lurkers to become a thing in SC2 in about a year from now, and it'll be Serral who teaches everyone else how scary lurkers truely are.

I agree that Dark got too weak in this year. He used to be the most successful low-eco zerg player back in 2020-2021. Now his timings are so off. He delays upgrades and misses ling counter attacks. I wonder what happened to him.

I do sometimes, but most casts are for my own channels
I have been wondering why the top players never play with spine crawlers. They seem like a perfect way to defend your creep spread and they balance out the composition of queens with zerglings. You could say that the banes are a better option, but they do require a population cap.....IDk, 150 minerals with a 50 sec production time seems a bit much. Almost identical to producing a queen.

At 24:33 Serral APM peaked at 1125?!?!
A Question for zerg players. In ZvZ you see ling speed roach speed hydra speed e.c.t, but how come you never or very rarely see bailing speed in this matchup?
u can see. but banes are no major "battle unit" as vs terrans, and too often games are in the roach phase before baneling speed hits; or full walls neutralise early banes
The fish you have is a common butterfly goldfish and you’ll need a way bigger tank to house properly they can get up to a foot in size

What happens if two vipers abduct each other at the exact same time?
I know this is an old comment - but the answer is they pull towards each other and meet in the middle.
So it's been a minute and I'm not a great player (Mostly Played during WoL) but why didn't Rogue go into Muta/Brood Lord? Is it just vipers? I could see parasitic bomb and abduct countering both of those fairly well.
Apparently Rogue couldn't beat the AI.
kinda wanna see a full zerg wall off with bane evo roch and a spine, so you can move the spine to make an opening, but also close it off with a spine
The problem is the spine is too slow to react to units outside your nat, then zerglings can block the spine from burrowing and the wall will still be open
Serral's spirit animal is anaconda. And he doesn't blink too.

I was bored for most of this match, it felt like Serral was being slow walked to victory. I'm not dismissing Rogue, just Serral is number 1 for a reason, and felt like Rogue was trying to delay it as long as possible.
Also for everyone else, Spore Crawlers, the anti-air building, does 15 damage per attack to mechanical, and 30 damage per attack against organic. It makes them quite effective in ZvZ
Serral was not "slow walked to victory" for the very simple fact that he never had so many drones that his army was smaller than Rogue's. That's the big difference between them. Army size in a ZvZ is of higher priority than having a strong economy in the early to mid game, Rogue literally ran out of gas because his economy was TOO good while his army was always a little more flimsy at the start of a big battle. Had he committed to a heavier mutalisk harassment style, Serral would not have had an as easy time denying bases.
Rogue should have had a massive mutalisk army, at a certain point mutas start to one shot stuff when they are stacked on each other. Go in and pick off Serral's structures before he can get those vipers and lurkers out.

What if Corruptor's caustic spray could work on burrowed units?
Would not matter most of the time, as the initial damage is rather low and fights do not last long enough. As soon as you see them going into the high dmg mode, you could just quickly unburrow and burrow your units again. I think it would add needless micro which would barely be used. Nice idea though!
Lowko I love yah but you did kinda stop paying attention to the trades half way through the game. You kept calling Rouge's movements for taking out lurkers good trades when he loses 20 supply of hyrdras for 2 lurkers. At the end you called Serrals lurkers very cost ineffective and vulnerable when they managed to wipe out 30 supply of Rouges hydras with no bank to replace them.
Its the first time I've ever really made a comment like this but this video felt like a very sloppy cast.

If you're looking for a unit to counter these Compositions it would be scourge.
Is scurge with flying kill vipers. That's allowing your vipers to do their job. Additionally for your opponent it would make it necessary to have a large number of hydraulics hydralisks to protect your vipers.
