Yes, its a repeat story. But 5 years of daily videos with an average of 3 stories per video comes to almost 5.5 thousand stories. Expecting him to remember every story he's ever read already is absurd.
Plus there are many more stories read than recorded to find worthy ones. Some channels do only these types of stories, low quality ones from asia I think that always have that theme of family obligations, golden boys, treating some people like Cinderella and then getting upset they leave.
I've listened to every rSlash video ever, and I didn't remember this story. I guess that means I can go back to the first videos and watch them again because they will be new to me, lol.
@mrlugh it 100% sounds like a repeat because I listen to the original recently. If the stories are different the details are the same. And no hate to rslash. Its bond tk happen and honestly I liked his telling of it the 2nd time better!
This Story: Ugh, the "But he's your father" and "But faaaamily!" argument. How is this the MOTHER'S fault? How is this supposed to be kept secret? Bloody hell...This dad is trashy beyond belief. Glad you are able to stop them from sellng the house.
Ah yes, the "ungrateful brats" that were abused for years. How dare they expose his abuse & cheating and cut him out of their lives. Karma got this man GOOD, he lost much of his pension, his mistress, AND his image. Let that be a lesson to ya, OP's father.
Please tell me I’m not the only one realising this is a repeat story! Edit: I’m not upset about this being a repeat, just wanted to see if others realised this too (saying this because other comments are mentioning people being upset)
OP: As a gay man, my bloodline ends with me. Also OP: *has a niece and nephew from his sister, who’s got the same exact bloodline as he does, and ancestry is much much stronger on the maternal side*
All true but it sounds like whatever hellhole of a country he is from only cares about male lines of succession. Any nieces and nephews he has will fall under his sister's husband's bloodline as far as they are concerned.
As someone who is basically in this situation, they're probably more meaning that their branch of the bloodline- which is often closely tied with the family name in concept- is going to be under a different name that will cause his sisters's maiden name to fade into the sands of time and her twig to become more disassociated with the main branches at some point as it expands. It may end up being recorded for the rest of time, but who will really end up going back to it to remember?
I think it's more that he's the first and only son of his father, and typically it's the male side that continues the bloodline in these situations, so they would typically gloss over any female availability because tradition or whatever
Tradition is paternal heredity. Father to son. Not all cultures have done it this way, but the majority have. That's largely because women were seen as unable to support themselves, so it was often the case that a man would marry a widow with children, and her pre-existing children were not blood-relatives to the family they were married into. There are just more dead-ends on the maternal side. Of course, that does little in the face of false paternity, which was a VERY frequent occurrence, but before blood typing and DNA tests, it often went undetected. But many people did inherit via the maternal line through false paternity. And most people were extremely opposed to inheriting via both paternal and maternal lines. If that was allowed, in the course of one to two generations, a whole city's wealth could be consolidated under a single family via strategic marriages. In cultures that have allowed this, it has often led to outright war. No obviously, that's not a concern these days, at least in the western world. Families are a lot smaller, with 1-3 kids on average, not 15 kids. Also, inheritance is heavily taxed in many countries. And populations are larger, one prosperous family cannot subsume an entire town because towns aren't 500 people any more, they're usually in the tens of thousands, up to the millions, and people leave their home towns now and move elsewhere. Plus women can work, they can support themselves... this is traditional, but the tradition is rendered obsolete by modern circumstances. But you do need to look at it through the lens of the circumstances that existed when it was practiced. It may not have been just by modern standards, but it likely did help those societies.
I have watched every single RSlash video on YT, starting back from the 1st week of the channel (before the false botting allegations). If this is an unintentional repeat video or an intentional repeat video, it is perfectly fine for it to be 1 video in over 1000+. RSlash is quality at its finest. I can't even notice or remember this story, but I enjoy a throwback every now and then anyway.
I’m SO CURIOUS what country this takes place in. Adultery is illegal, divorce is legal, alcohol is part of tradition, inheritance of land is difficult, people are dying in “the war”, and such a specific family organization system. Does anyone know for sure?
All I can say is, just because someone is family does not mean they're good for your family. I have had two uncles in the past, neither blood related to me (married my aunts). Uncle 1: Was an abusive (mentally and physically) AH to my aunt (dad’s sister) and was planning on running away to another country to be with someone else. He was a smoker, drinker and my aunt had schizophrenia and anxiety. Where he was a lifelong smokers and drinker, it caught up to him and he required a renal transplant, my cousin (his son) and his wife both came to the decision to not give him one of his son's as he'd just kill it and on the chance one of his kids would have needed it. Ah unalived in the OR. We found out when we were out eating a meal and tbh, we just carried on like nothing happened. Uncle 2: This one is still, sadly alive. He has been sent to prison THREE TIMES in the past, first time for armed robbery, second time, again, armed robbery and third time, sustenance transfer we'll say... and they caught him when he was on his way to Spain! He was, IMO, the dumbest person I've ever met. For reference, I work in a hospital as a laboratory scientist (I look at all the samples your clinician takes from you) in pathology. He said he could get me a job driving a van for 100k... whilst what I do is high demand (I work in central London) and stressful, it's honest work. When he was caught, his house was raided, he has three kids and this was five years ago. This caused my aunt who was accused (but never charged as she was found innocent) a great degree of mental anguish, to the point where she can't get work now and the kids unimageable stress at school and they are now financially struggling and in the red (five figures). Yes he's still inside after five years. Long story short, just because someone is family, does not mean you owe them *hit!

So fun fact, I literally just spent the last like month re-watching every single one of Rslashes videos so I do remember the repeat story. I don't mind tho, I love listening to it!
Rslash posts about three stories a day, and has been doing so for like five years now. It's a wonder that we don't get even more repeats, frankly. I certainly don't know if I'd be able to keep everything straight. Keep doing what you do, Dabney. :)
I never blamed my mother for not getting us out of a broken house because of a heartless, and abusive sperm donor. If she hadn’t gotten us out, I’d probably be dead by self-harming. But I have absolutely no sympathy for any mothers, and fathers who stayed with their abusive partners and allowed their children to be destroyed by their parent.
This whole sytory is a repost, my dear Rslash. I think it would be good for him to reach out to other Reddit TH-camrs, and ask them how they manage their stories and keep everything and check

I listen to RSlash almost daily, yet I don't recall if I heard this one before. Even if its a repeat I like it. My memory is t the best so any repeat is a welcome repeat.
I would've cut all contact from the Mom and left her life for good, because who needs a Mom that was so brainwashed and "Obligated" to stay with an abusive and cheating scumbag husband, that she'd throw the lives of her kids under the bus in favor of "Remaining by his side".
Your sister is horrible for leaving you and going, instead of taking you with her. So selfish. Can never understand siblings who escape and don’t help other siblings.
Both parents in the story are awful. The father for obvious reasons and the mother for not getting her kids out of that hell hole and protecting them. She only snaps when he does something unfaithful to her *eye roll*.
I figured I was imagining it when I thought he read this story before because I’ve heard this story on another channel. But I take solace in knowing that I wasn’t
So.... anyone wanna take bets on where the OP lives? Hierarchical family structure with the heads of households sitting at a seperate table like clan chiefs, laws punishing infidelity with prison time, gossipy women throughout, it suggests Middle East or possibly Asian Muslim country, but then the OP admits to being gay as well as having to drive 14 hours to a family function without mention of living in another country or crossing national borders, which would suggest Russia, the US, or some other similar giant country that is tolerant enough of LGBT for him to openly state it online.
Not too upset about this being a repeat, more upset that it was the only story AND realizing that he doesn't have a system to keep track of stories so that he doesn't repeat any. Even with putting out stories everyday, Reddit has so many that it should be impossible to repeat...unless you only stick with 3 or 4 categories. Maybe it's time to add a new subreddit to the rotation?
Well if he covers recent things it’s not about remembering, he was probably hoping no one would remember so he could cycle in the oldest stuff with fewer new stories
The fact that in the first 20 mins of posting so many of us realized its a repeat, goes to show how many of us listen to him religiously 😅

The last time a relative tried to visit me solely to berate me, they got five fingers across the face.
The last story was insane. When we got to the part where he said Now for the Pro Revenge I was like wtf is there left to take sksksk
"I was shocked when I learned how expensive cancer treatment could be. Not a fan." - Op [10:20]. WTF?
This dude's mother has a Syndicate Level gossip circle 😳
In short, gossip circles are superior.
I don’t remember this story and people are saying it’s a repeat, what video did he cover this in before??
like 2-3 years ago.
Your sister is horrible for leaving you and going, instead of taking you with her. So selfish. Can never understand siblings who escape and don’t help other siblings.
Both parents in the story are awful. The father for obvious reasons and the mother for not getting her kids out of that hell hole and protecting them. She only snaps when he does something unfaithful to her *eye roll*.
i really just heard the other episode where this story was narrated 😂 oh rslash ❤
the 1st story sounds familiar haven't i heard this before?
This whole story sounds just like a Chinese Manhwa involving status and family conflicts. Great Story.
I have heard this story so many times but I just realized that OP's mom is like a ring leader of a big Intel gathering group 😮
'I was shocked when i learned how expensive cancer treatment is...'
Lol how is that a surprise?
It is basically free in most of Europe.
I hadn't heard this story before, so im thankful it's a repeat!
I'm not disappointed that it's a repeat story but at the lack of commentary :(
I figured I was imagining it when I thought he read this story before because I’ve heard this story on another channel. But I take solace in knowing that I wasn’t
I have listened to many of rSlash's videos, and I guess I missed the first one of this as this is the first time I have heard it.
Might be a repeat but i dont think Ive heard this one yet so im INVESTED
sounds like they got revenge on not 1 horrible person but 2 considering it sounds like the aunt is just as despicable as the father
Wow you know the story is going to be good when the entire video is dedicated to it...Great and kinda sad story.
How is this not nuclear revenge. Ops father is literally going to die alone, and Ops aunt is being stalked by some dangerous men.
NR doesn’t allow posts that consist of civil court action
You know it's a good story when it takes up the whole(or most of) the video.
I wish there was like a thing you could do on reddit where you could mark if you've read the story before
So.... anyone wanna take bets on where the OP lives? Hierarchical family structure with the heads of households sitting at a seperate table like clan chiefs, laws punishing infidelity with prison time, gossipy women throughout, it suggests Middle East or possibly Asian Muslim country, but then the OP admits to being gay as well as having to drive 14 hours to a family function without mention of living in another country or crossing national borders, which would suggest Russia, the US, or some other similar giant country that is tolerant enough of LGBT for him to openly state it online.
I was thinking China with one of those really old families that track lineages
I'm guessing Bhārat, maybe? Internet says that being gay is not criminalized but infidelity, if committed by a man, might result in jail or a fine
Bharat is the Indian name for india for those who dont know right? @Punk_Male
Russia or Ukraine. Definitely not the US.
I must have missed this one because everyone is saying it's a repeat but I have never ever heard it
Ahhhhh!! I knew this sounded familiar !!
An oldie, but a goodie
Ah man havent heard this in a while. Got to enjoy it all over again. Thanks for the trip Rslash!
Can you re-do the worst rslash logo contest (even without a cash prize)
First stroy was already covered!!!!!!! And thats the only one story... this whole episod is a dupe!! so sad
I mean, its been 5 years of videos, he's not going to remember every story he's ever read
@@honorjordan3169i guess thats fair
Well if he covers recent things it’s not about remembering, he was probably hoping no one would remember so he could cycle in the oldest stuff with fewer new stories
@@honorjordan3169 if my job was to read out loud, then I would mark the stuff that I have read.
This was a good throwback. 👍
It may be a repeat, but it’s an epic repeat.
Never underestimate the power of a woman's gossip circle lol
Honestly this is the first time I heard this story, so I don’t care if it was a repeat.
I would have thought this to be a NuclearRevenge. But never mind that, it was a very good revenge.
I hope that everyone is having a good Sunday!
Props to the gossip circle.
