These are my favourite currently and to be honest have always been my favourite DLC campaigns for the Historical Total Wars. Also to be clear this list reflects my feelings and experiences about them as and when they released so FOTS was and in my mind still is an expansion campaign rather than a standalone game, and Barbarian Invasion for Rome and the Crusades campaign for Medieval 2 are separate campaigns to me as that's how they released back in my day. Either way, hope you enjoyed it! Let me know your thoughts below!
What about it was good, I vaguely remember using the Apache or something in southwest? Haven’t played since like 2007 I was so young like 8 or something.
I remember placing pikes on a river crossing in barbarian invasion, only to find that the ai could swim accross the river. The battle got intense fast, and in the end the river was choked with arrow pierced corpses floating downstream
Fall of The Samurai was legendary. I remember when it came out long ago its all my friends and I would play. Lots of summers nights playing Avatar Conquest and Coop campaign..such a goated “standalone”! In my personal opinion my list (based off of fun and content) is: 1.Fall of The Samurai (i know its a “standalone” but im not gonna count it as one lol 2. Medieval Kingdoms(hard to put 2 but i just love the FOTS setting so im bias) 3. Age of Charlemagne 4. Rise of the Republic 5. Tomb Kings 6. That one 3k dlc mandate of heaven i think
hey terminator I dont know if your into total war three kingdoms but theres a new overhaul mod being actively developed called 190 expanded, it adds new cultures, units, and factions and an actual expansion to the map which adds the entirety of korea and a few regions in the west (which were there in the base game and fully modeled but out of bounds). Its all being developed closely to vanilla balance which really makes it feel like the closest thing to three kingdoms 2, with faction rebalancing, economy adjustments to settlements which diversify builds while not breaking the economy; (population is now a base income and not a multiplier, overpopulation decreases public order) makes council decision costs scale to your income instead of paying 5 pennies for campaign changing events. Its also compatible with records mode and mods that change battle mechanics. Ive made a psuedo-romance battle dynamic with the battle mods: Reduced generals (makes generals have half of their HP), Beneath a red sky [BARS] (DEI esque battle mod that makes combat unit centric with unit types being way more important where spear units can push other units back, cavalry are battle changing units when used for shock but start to crumble when in prolonged combat, archers are great at moral attacking), and then a simple 50% moral increase mod which means that battles actually have a back and forth to them. Generals are very useful and can do duels but can only kill around 30-50 units if actively fighting since AOE attacks have been removed. Ive been having a super fun time with it!
I honestly think Empire Divided has a terrible start, they just did it because they wanted Zenobia, and Aurelian is well-known (also the Sol Invictus mask is rad). But for "Crisis of the Third Century", it sure isn't very chaotic, and doesn't get the point of the INSANE chaos of the Crisis of the Third Century. There aren't a lot of good start dates for the period, OR the game should have started in like 274, Aurelian will die quickly and you have to deal with that by choosing someone to continue, and Zenobia won't be around (or won't be for long), and won't be in power. Gallienus would have been more interesting to start. Or actually Valerian, and the campaign starts with you losing to the Persians and Valerian being captured, then you play as Gallienus. Or maybe as Maximinus Thrax. Playing as an actual giant would be cool, he was like 7'6"
@@jamesschaller753 I like Medieval 2 with the Stainless Steel mod and played Rome 2 a lot, but I just find it bland because the combat system just boils down to having the best units and blobbing them through a gate or city street because there's no maneuverability inside cities/castles
So two of these "DLCs" are part of an expansion pack integrated into the games' definitive editions and another is actually a standalone game, why do I even bother watching these?
I rated these as and when they came out for me I guess so in the case of FOTS it was not a standalone at the time, and to be real it's kind of a joke that it's a standalone now and though you can buy the Crusades campaign for Medieval 2 & Barbarian Invasion as a part of their definitive editions, I rated them as the best out of the other DLC campaigns these editions come with. I don't see anything wrong with doing it that way, if you didn't like it.. oh well basically :D Just did it the way it felt naturally to me

DEI Caesar in Gaul is fire
@@jamesschaller753 DEI reworks all dlcs as well? Didnt even know.
Empire Divided is a must play for those who have never experienced it!
Was just thinking about buying this but i still gotta finish caesar in gaul and my Alexander DEI campaign 😂😊
Eagerly awaiting Nobunaga’s ambition 👀

Lu Bu is worth everything in TW3K.
Factual
there is only one dlc you need. The blood packs, blood for the blood god
Hey Termi, gotten a few more achievements in COH2 Theater of War besides this, plus a minor one in Western Front(most Folks have gotten it).
AoC is personally my favourite total war d lmy favourite Total War DLC if the campaign was a lot larger I think it could easily be its own game
Shogun 1 had a Mongol Invasion campaign and Medieval 1 had a viking invasion DLC but they were expansion packs at the time not DLC.
Peninsular campaign - AM I A JOKE TO YOU?!
Thrones was the best dlc for attila
Fall of the samourai is maybe better than base game
Vanilla is fire too. Not everyone likes the guns 😅
Age of Charlemagne top 3 forsure
NAH TOTAL WAR
3K 8P is amazing man
Would you consider playing Medieval or Napoleon total war? Moded of course.

on steam you get all dlcs from medieval 2 and rome 1 directly, so buying BI, alexander or kingdoms definitely is a scam
Age of Charlemagne is great but kinda throw a bone to us. Like we have ME3 at home so SHUT UP. WE LAZY WE DON'T CARE
And we love it the way it is lol
1212 AD is more like ME3 then AOC
@@jamesschaller753 I agree. Fans are always fixing problems if game was good
AOC is solid and fun but could have been so much more...
You say that Pharaoh has no DLC... But what about high tide?
Total War series was cool until i discovered Europa 4 and alike
Not even the same genre of game lol
Diplomacy simulator vs real RTS

Historical and Fantasy ❎ Warhammer & not Warhammer ✅
why no barbarian invasion footage tho? it's rome vanilla and some modded, like, come on man you can do better
Cause barbarians are cringe
It was a timing issue, mate but yes I appreciate the feedback
@@TheTerminatorGaming oof understandable man
@@asellandrofacchio7263 not the romans tho
@@TheLastRoman no of course, Romani are the most based people that has ever existed.
how could 1212 not be in this list?
