I just watched this again, and wanted to point out your emphasis to minimize the thread wraps. GUILTY!! That is a great reminder to not overdo it, thanks for taking the time to show that you only need one wrap.
j winters Wow! I love this pattern Brian. So many flies I use come apart after the first or second fish, and this fly, as you said, will last, and last!! I am a beginning fly tier, but I think I can handle this one!! So many wonderful tips about rotating the thread, less thread wraps to hold material. Everything! I learned so much! Thank you.
100% over tie for sure learning to remind myself more wraps don't equal better flies!!! Thank you for this video. Getting ready to head to Michigan for a winter fly trip definitely gonna try this one! Recommend any others?
Thanks for letting me tie this pattern! Hopefully it brings everyone success!
We appreciate you doing the video! Great pattern!

Thank you Alan for watching and pointing out a great tip!
Thanks for pointing that out Alan!
Looks awesome. Thanks for making this video. Can’t wait to tie some up.
Tried and true in Wyoming and Colorado! Solid pattern and very durable! Excellent work Mr Hilbert!
Thank you for watching Nick! This fly seems to catch fish everywhere!
Great fly Brian, hope all is well. Will be putting some of these in the box this weekend.
Thank you Alan! Appreciate you watching! Looking forward to our Wyoming trip in the spring!
If this isn't in the Umpqua catalog for 2024 it should be. Killer pattern.
It might be in the works!
Thanks for sharing this pattern today! Definitely going to give it a try in the coming days. 🎣
Thank you for watching! We hope it brings you success!
Man, is it me, or is working with the Fluoro Fiber difficult, especially creating the legs?? 🤕
@@jdigioia1130 definitely feel your pain. Practice makes perfect!
@@jdigioia1130 what size are you tying? Start getting used to tying in larger sizes before going down to 22. Like any material, it takes practice!
@brian.c.hibert #20 I may have a few too many fibers as well?! Thanks!
Very nice. I appreciate your tips!!
Thank you for watching Bob!
Thanks 🎉 BRI !!!!!

Glad you enjoyed! This is definitely a durable pattern and is tried and true on some of Colorado’s toughest trout!
Nice tie Brian, it works in the west and what is your thoughts out east in Pa. I think I will give it a try. Thanks for sharing
Will definitely work anywhere you have small mayflies

Thank you for watching! Are you targeting trout or steelhead in Michigan?
@AnglersCovey I'll be targeting bows and browns. I'm running a fairly light set up for steels but I'll never turn the opportunity down to lip one!!

@@branzcohoon these two should fair you well in that area!
Have you ever added a bead or do you fish it as a dropper or with shot. Just wonder about getting it deep where I imagine it would be a killer too.
I usually use this in tandem with a weighted nymph or with split shot. You can certainly tie out with a bead but can be difficult in smaller sizes
Fantastic A+
Thank you! I’ll pass the feedback along to Brian!
I like it and I will tie it but I'll leave out the red head.tight lines.
Thanks for watching!
Cool fly but I hate body quill for tailing material
