I feel you didn't give the steamer a fair shot since you only used one hand when steaming. You have to pull down on the pant leg with your other hand to make it slightly taught, and then run the steamer over it at the same time. The slight tension coupled with the steam melts away the wrinkles. The trick to steamers is definitely hanging it up correctly and using both hands.
If you live somewhere with winter seasons, you have sweaters that can smell musty if they’re been in storage. The steamer freshens them up so you don’t have to wash them all again. Same goes with jackets that smell like food because you wore them to a restaurant with strong cooking smells. The steamer makes them fresh again.
I feel you, but you may want to open the tool bag. I finally did and guess what? The silicone band worked great on my wrinkled khakis. And compared to the iron, it didn’t leave pressing or heat marks. There was no fading or discoloration. I use 2 hands for both iron and steamer. I still need to practice, and i need to learn how to use the create tool. but i’m pleased this far.
Pull it taught and then steam it by pressing the head into the pants, it’ll work much better. The iron pulls the pants taught on the ironing board which is essentially like making it the way you want it to be and then baking it solid.
It’s so powerful that you can actually use it to sanitize and deodorize mattresses, box springs, and pillows as well as killing bed bugs. It’s not just for quickly removing wrinkles from clothing or window treatments. The steamer, like your iron....has to actually make contact with the material for it to work like it should. The comparision is like holding your iron just above the fabric of what you are trying to get the wrinkles out of without resting it actually ON the fabric, your iron would not work effectively either if you used the same method. When you iron, you motion it over the fabric in constant waves across the pants or whatever piece of clothing you are working with and not letting it stay concentrated in one spot so that the fabric does not scortch/burn. Thank you for taking your time in sharing!
Thanks for your comments Sharon. If you can see when I'm using the steamer, I am making alot of contact with the fabric. The pants are swaying back and forth as I go up and down on the pants. When I returned the unit the Costco rep said tons of people return this unit. Wish it worked. Maybe it's just this brand and model.
@@wonStarReviews No you are not making a lot of contact, with the way you hanged the pants you obviously need to hold the bottom with one hand to make constant contact while also applying some pressure. Thats how those handheld steamer are supposed to work.

It's never going to work as well as an iron, but it's quicker and easier to use and can be used on dry clean only fabrics. Also no dealing w an ironing board. It has it's place, just like the iron. Great for delicate fabrics.
Hi, I know this was done over a year ago but steamer irons are not for heavy materials like khaki and jeans. its great for softer fabrics and delicate fabrics like silk or plush fabrics like velvet where an iron would crush the fibers of the fabric. Steamer irons are great for drapes and similar materials.
Somewhat agree. Some drapes like the ones I have are even thicker than khakis. But I see an application for very sheer delicate items. Thanks for the feedback!
The steamer will work better for things you can lift and put on an ironing board. Drapes, sheets (while they are on the bed), fragile clothing like silk, refreshing sweaters instead of taking them to the cleaners at the beginning of the season etc. But for the use that you displayed, the steam iron is best. I have both.

Yeah the streamer works great on thin or delicate fabrics. I like to use it on dresses and dry clean only fabrics. I have yet to try a steam garment bag and wonder how that would get rid of wrinkles faster or better?
You need a steaming mitt, that way you can apply gentle pressure on the clothes hanging. An iron works better because you're applying massive heat pressure on a surface. Your pants will get damaged with that iron.
I think I agree if your clothes are of a delicate fabric. If it's cotton or jean material I think the irons potential damage outweighs the lifespan of the material. Good respectable point though!! Thanks!

Of course the iron is going to be better it's pressed heat if you steam by pressing down it will probably have the same results..I'm purchasing a steamer thanks for the video

I want to get a steamer for light fabrics, women gowns etc that would otherwise be impossible to iron, drapes, freshening garments up.. For T-shirt’s and trousers it makes no sense at all.

i don't doubt that the iron would do a better job here. however - your technique with the steamer was a little questionable. maybe in rewatching you might see that : you kinda waved it over relatively fast up and down. what if you spot steamed the areas with the heavier wrinkles? you also spent a lot more time at the top and bottom of your passes. for you the steamer is probably worthless. but for things that are a bit more delicate, or that you wouldn't use an iron on they can be useful (like blazers, cardigans, sweaters, linen).

A perfect example of someone doing a review without knowing how the product works; that steamer is able to be placed on the fabric as well as used as an ironing board making it a lot more effective- you're kind of putting it at a disadvantage by not putting it on contact with the piece you're doing especially something that heavy- and to give it a further better chance you can iron it like a traditional iron using the iron board and not just in the upright position
What if steam doesn't come out of mine ( brand new from Costco, and when I start the steam button, not only there is no steam, there is a loud tapping noise).

Thanks for the suggestion and thanks so muchfor watching! Like I said in the video, if I gotta do all that, what's the point of the steamer vs an iron?
Un-wrinkle = iron-out. Delicate and Delicates are not the same word. Ak -ses-sore-ee. Get your Vana White on! The Conair makes it almost impossible to iron out the ends of the garments. Just like you show for the left pant leg.
This is a bad and pretty negative review seems like you did not have open mind going in. I started using mine today at the same time I started watching videos and came across yours as well and I don't think you see the value in this product. Maybe try it again with an open mind?
Thanks for your comment. Honestly I really tried to like this thing. When i filmed this, it was my second time trying to make a go after I returned the first one and messed with the attachments. If I was un-wrinkling sheer drapes this would have worked, but not for anything I would put on.
You also completely know how to use your iron and you don't know how to use the steamer. You seem to have also made up your mind before you even started. JMO
Even if one were to 'iron' with that steamer on an ironing board, the total surface area of the iron is way bigger. The point of the steamer is to use it without an ironing board thus the pressure against the fabric will be less no matter what. The only advantage of the steamer is on delicate surfaces. At most, it could be as good as an iron but would take way more time.
I feel you didn't give the steamer a fair shot since you only used one hand when steaming. Un-wrinkle = iron-out. Delicate and Delicates are not the same word. Ak -ses-sore-ee. Get your Vana White on! The Conair makes it almost impossible to iron out the ends of the garments. Just like you show for the left pant leg.
it doesnt work because you go over it fast like an iron. You are suppose to go slowly over it not super fast
Gotcha! Thing's too heavy to hold still for that long lol.
Thank you I won’t be buying this
This is a bad and pretty negative review seems like you did not have open mind going in.
Iron everyday? Christ…
Well 2x a week now thanks to covid
Con air conned you out of a good few minutes of nothingness.
You also completely know how to use your iron and you don't know how to use the steamer. You seem to have also made up your mind before you even started. JMO
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Another unneeded gadget.
This is a dull and boring review. Please make more effort next time.
You are not using it properly
Waste of money did not get rid of wrinkles
thats my sentiment as well!
Looks like you don’t know how to use a steamer
Again....you HAVE...to actually touch the fabric with the steamer, like you actually touch the fabric with your iron.
A bit to much bla bla
Dude.. learn how to use a steamer before doing a review
Just do it,so much talking it's not rocket science
