Everywhere you go in the Philippines specially in the malls and the church on Christmas day, and “ lolo and lola’s” house gather everyone to celebrate the birth of baby Jesus are just the best in the Philippines! You said it all, my friend! American celebrations of Christmas is a bit dry, not as good as we celebrate in the Philippines!! I missed the holidays in my birt country! Dude,you just got my subscription. What you say is spot on. The ups and downs of life in the Philippines is going to occur regardless of what you might imagine. It's life, that's all it is. The same happens everywhere, it's just going to happen with the unique Philippine flavor. I'm new to your site so you might have covered the topic of the responsibility to your new family. When you marry your filipina, you almost literally are marrying her family. It's also true that you won't be quite as high as you might like because the blood family seems to trump all other considerations. I was put off by this at first and I had to adjust .There are so many differences from the culture I was comfortable with. You must be open minded in your expectations of the folks here. Anyway, keep up the good work. I enjoyed your take on the life in the Philippines.

Here in Ohio, the tree stays up all year,,we are coming for 2 weeks last week of November First week December..So it's perfect for us,,my lights go up in a few days outside... We make our final jump bout 2 years sooooo looking forward to the transition 😊

If you do not have constant income and an emergency fund, its a high risk retiring in the Philippines without a plan B or C. Things do go wrong in the Philippines and do not expect the same efficiency back home when you are in trouble.
