The reason you can see the LED's flickering behind a camera is because they are actually flickering. It's called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) - They are flickering on & off so fast that the eye cannot see it. PWM eliminates the need for heat-sinks for heat dissipation while giving the illusion that the LED is actually permanently on. My 435i came with the LED headlights and they also flicker.

One of the reasons the trunk is not opening is that the exposed wires are generating a grabbing force with the packing (plus less sealing performance against water). If still not working properly after hiding them, it can be that the Gts taillights are a bit more heavy (hypothesis to be proven by measuring gts vs oem [g])

You can also adjust the settings on the trunk springs to increase the spring force that pops up the trunk.

Wires are meant to run under those boot arm covers. Unclip plastic covers rerun and replace covers

I think you can adjust trunk spring tension to lift up automatically
So these are after market. The OEM from BMW can be purchased at IND Distribution, but they cost $9275.... Now you might say F-That, too expensive, but these Vland lights are cheap compared to the OEM lights. Whats the difference. 1) NO coding required for the Vland, but for the OEM BMW OLED lights, you need coding. 2) the Vland GTS sequential plastic LED (Dragon Scales) are hella thick, like 5X thicker than the OEM BMW glass OLED dragon scale lights. And I'd also bet that the Vland lights are not OLED, but rather just LED. (Hence why they are so SO thick) Its a quality thing really. But... the Vland lights are only $300 ish, or around there. So that is 30 X cheaper.
Another issue is that the sequential light up of the scales requires a long cable for the 2 outer lights, and as such you have to route a cable to the front of the car or not bother with that feature. The Vland have overcome this with their PnP wire harness some how, and as such you get the sequential light up.
They both have pros and cons depending on what you are looking for. Great Video.
the trunk is likly because the weight changed, same if oyu add a spoiler. Try changing the spring pre load on the trunk lift.

You didn't route the cables correctly. You should follow the OEM route. There are good installation guides on how to do this the right way and how to fit them correctly. I'm getting these for my F82.
Ho questi fari da 2 anni, li adoro da guardare, ma odio come funzionano alla luce del sole. La luce di stop e la luce di svolta sotto il sole non sono visibili e questo è molto pericoloso. Ho cercato mod o altre luci migliori ma non ho trovato nulla. Penso che il progetto sia stato fatto male. Sotto la pioggia o con il freddo ogni tanto ho avuto errore sulla accensione luce di svolta destra, l'ho risolto con la codifica "fari a LED" di Bimemrcode.

no need for a brighter ligt for reverse, it's just to cold light for camera, warm light is best ! TRUNK doesn't open because it's heavier😇 seeing all led's it's something very far from original OLED...

Hey if by generic, you mean the standard m sport one, then yes! It’s just an aftermarket m sport diffuser. The only difference is it’s wrapped in carbon fiber. I’ve got the GTS lights an my boot still operates on the remote boot release an in addition all of my wiring is hidden.
The wires are inside the boot arms with enough slack for the remote boot release but the only issue I’m currently seeing is some minor condensation but only on the drivers (🇬🇧).
Yeah I think what caused it is the way I touted the wires so I’m gonna try to redo it! I didn’t see any condensation on mine but thanks for the heads up!!
Does your inner brake light illuminate when used? (Trunk lights) Also do you get a right turn signal malfunction from time to time?
It’s just the one brake light on the larger portion of the tail light. No malfunctions thankfully

Hey in your video at roughly 4:30 mark I seen you install the wires wrong causing the trunk not to lift up. Those wires shouldn’t be exposed and should of been behind the carpet trim. Other then that great video!

@@ayyyman_ you can also adjust the tension of trunk lid spring behind carpet liner so your trunk will open all the way.

will it fit on a 2013 420d coupe
I have these for my F36 Gran Coupe yes they will fit, but I cannot install them as the connecting cable doesn't reach to the lid lights as the cable looks to be only for the saloon, also no clue how to get the wires into the boot area, this is the first vid I've seen showing how their wires get in, my only thought is drill and use a body plug around the wire.
Drill in the outer tail thers 2 spots for screws and one for plastik tab thats going into the body of the car drill out that tab, then but some vidre and vire it to the inner tails

Wat are some reasons as to why the startup animation works intermittently? Wat conditions does the vehicle have to be left in as far as lights and locks
It’s just standard, on 0 setting the rear lights aren’t on by default so when you unlock it won’t turn on, whereas on auto or full beam when you unlock the car the lights will turn on. Same as any other car
I have the same one, I just got them and got them installed step by step and what I notice was the tail lights on the right side worked amazingly, then the trunk part on the left side works but the one on the body doesn’t do the full animation part of the lights when you start the car but the reverse light and running light does work do you think it’s faulty? And my wiring is right I’ve checked so many times.
Yeah that sounds like it's faulty to me. Either the light or maybe even the wiring went bad? Once the animation doesn't work on mine, it doesn't work on all of the lights so that doesn't sound normal to me.
The reason the lights flicker is because of frequency and because of frame rate of camera ;)

Overall I think it’s good! I know people noticed the smaller light on the trunk pops out a little more but personally I don’t notice much or really care lol.
These wires should NOT be out in the open like this, so yes, it is not s correct installation and may be the reason for the trunk not fully opening.

Hi, i am on my 3rd right side tail lamps GTS for my BMW f32. The brake light keeps dying, or one of the lines of the oled stops working. I ordered twice just the far right (passenger) tail, but it keeps failing in 2-3 months. Anyone has same issues? Its from Aliexpress...

@@ayyyman_ can you do the drls at 0 and then have the animation work too? I have in on auto but because my sunlight sensor is broken the lights are on 24/7 all the time.

if you open up the covere you can adjust the spring tension, its a 10 min job and must be done on each side. there are youtube vidoes showing how
