- www.engvid.com "Is nice today," or "It's nice today"? Learn when to use "is" and "it's" in this basic but important English grammar lesson. If you are a Spanish speaker, this is especially important! And don't forget to take the quiz: www.engvid.com/...
Thank you so much, as a spanish speaker I always struggled with these two, this helped a lot
Additionally, it is used for: "Time, date, day, temperature and weather". i.e., It's 5:00 ò clock, It's the four of July, It's Monday, It's raining
Thanks Alex! Your lessons are so clear and simple. That's why to learn English it is needed to pratice every day, even just 15 minutes a day, having an excellent teacher like you! 😊👍

Thank you Alex! it's been long since I studied and I have to clear doubts once in a while : )
Thank you so much, after 50 years of being bilingual, i was starting to wobble with the use of "It is..." and "...is...". I am an Spanish speaker, and i have been doing a lot of manual work and having some stress in the last years, i hope its just that...😉. Thanks again. Its liked and subscribed. Or, i have liked and subscribed 😊 this video
I can't thank you enough! Always struggling with this.
Hi Alex. Thank you so much for your videos, they have been very helpful to me.
I take advantage of you saying that "Every verb needs a subject" to ask you a question in regards to empty subject "it" when it comes to the verb "Mean."
Over the years I've often encountered the following pattern: (It's an example)
"The fact that you like it doesn't mean it's right." Do we add an empty "It" before "Doesn't mean" or not? Perhaps we would put it in if we split the sentence by adding a comma? Thank you.
Thank u teacher I have struggled with this topic for a while but just in this video I could understand, the best video so far!

Thank you so much. I have a question. Do you start a question with it’s or is it?
“Is it.” :)
Is it raining?
Are you tired?
Is it 5 o’clock yet?
It's very clear like always. Thank you!

thanks so much heplful usefull lesson.
Can you help me with this one: do you write, which is or which it's.
Example: I was diagnosed with hemoptysis which is the reason I'm bleeding from my lungs. Same sentences but changing to which it's. Which one is correct?
Its really a nice lecture !
great teacher keep up,
So good thanks a lot
this is awesome!
I have one question. Do I say “Opposite the living room is the kitchen” or “Opposite the living room it’s the kitchen” ? Thank you !
I would say that both sound fine, though "Opposite the living room is the kitchen" sounds a bit more natural. This is because if you invert the sentence, it makes more sense: "The kitchen is opposite the living room."
You're awesome, thank you :)
this is gold
I made this mistake so often! Thank you!
Very useful.
Thanks you so much sir
how much exactly these lessons could it be useful for a british english pupil?.. btw m8 you are a great teacher !!
For sure. The grammar is the same. Some vocabulary is of course different, as is the pronunciation, but there is plenty in my videos that applies to whatever type of regional English you're learning.
badass teacher! thx a lot!!
Wow You're amazing 🤩
Thank you so much
Excellent! Very good explicated! ;-)
¡Gracias!
Thank you somuch
Thanks a lot for it 😊
Thank you!
great, I always had this doubt and none of my native speaker friends corrected me, it's a typical error for italian speakers too, cause we can start sentences with the verb to be and use it without repeating the subiject in subordinate clauses after conjunctions
It’s the same thing with Russian language. There is no necessity to use subject every time. And even the verb “to be” in present tense. The ending
of a word helps to understand who or what I talk about.
Now I learn Italian, it is closer to Russian than English)))
Can ''this'' work as a subject? Is it correct or incorrect the next sentence? I feel there is something wrong but at the same time makes sense.
'What I like about this it is how it plays...''
What if I say ''What I like about this, it is how it plays...''?
And what if I have a large sentence like: ''What I like about this, besides X and X, it is how it plays...''?
thank you so much!!!!!!!!
Good job
thanks dude!
thank you
Thanks, dude.
Great!
So we need a subject before using "is" correct?
Correct, unless it’s the beginning of a yes/no question.
than you
thanks!
Thank you :)
its very useful............
PAVUN RAJ wrong

how is my english? or how it's my english? (alternatives: good or bad)
Gerald Bustos te clavaron el visto
Anstimeo si hermano jajaja
Ya sé que son 4 años tarde... pero el sujeto es "english" entonces lo correcto seria decir "How is my english? "
Good!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
basically, the "It" changes the meaning of "is"
This it's very useful
"This is very useful." :) Thanks, ScrabsDead. I appreciate it.
