Exquisite and mesmerising ! What a radiant gift Olivia Bell gifts to the genius work of Philip Glass . In a world of ‘ Shattered dreams ‘, this gives us so much beauty. I am full of gratitude.
I wanted to say this composition is fucking brilliant but. I’m not allowed to say that ..and actually I don’t care what. I am allowed to say so there it is… what I really think is this such a great piece,,if music was therapy ..if music could heal or just give a moment of respite in some position of total effect …. here it is ..fucking brilliant . This is wonderful.
Il brano crea un'atmosfera gotica e avvolge la mente come uno spirito del sogno. L'esecuzione è mirabile, concentrata per ottenere quella sequenza magica, stupenda.
Why there's like ambient music in the background and the piano doesn't sound like a piano? I don't know if the string effect, in A specially, is on purpose, I guess so. I'm curious
The ambient sound is actually the piano, you can see the keys being hit. The sound of the keys has to do with how the pedals are used. This is a very characteristic interpretation of Glass.

(It takes two keyboards if you do it that way. I've got custom software I can share if you ever want to use two keyboards with one computer.) Even old computers that can't run Windows anymore can be used to make music if you work your way up the Linux learning curve. Live piano music is just the beginning. I love the Una Corda for this piece, and I do appreciate her performance style and musicality, but those right hand arpeggios are just unforgivably sloppy. Actually had to stop listening around 3 minutes because of it.
have you seen Glass perform this piece? the concept of these arpeggios are a sort of free form expressionism, which gives them character and dimension. I think Olivia performed beautifully.
@@jorgebarcelo7716 I’ve seen Glass play it… but not when he was younger. Unfortunately, as he has advanced in age, his finger dexterity and flexibility have suffered a lot and I don’t think he’s a particularly competent performer of his own work any longer.

Absolutely beautiful.
Beautiful
Semplicemente magnifica.
Un pezzo che amo molto, complimenti
Why is the A note so buzzy ? It's like the string is strummed
She's holding down the sustain pedal
Juste Magnifique Olivia !

Its also a unique piano where each key only hits one string instead of three so the reverb sounds a little more piercing to me
